What three makeup products are you thankful for this year?

La Mer The Soft Fluid Foundation has been a go-to all year long, and foundation is often something that makes me feel better when I am down. It should be obvious… but also very thankful for my Sydney Grace x Temptalia collaboration palettes for an assortment of reasons! Terra Moons Veil Nebula is such a stunning shade–kind of reminded me why I love makeup so much.

1.)Living in such an intensely hot climate, plus mostly relying on public transportation, I’m very thankful for a foundation that is the perfect shade match and can last through the hottest days: MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation.
2.) I’m also very thankful for a very skin-like finishing powder that also lasts: Hourglass Dim Light Ambient Lighting powder.
3.) And something I literally NEVER imagined I’d be thankful for: non-drying dry-down liquid lipstick! It’s been a way that I can still wear lipstick that (usually) doesn’t wind up all over my face while having to use a mask intermittently when out and about.

Now, if the question had been what I have enjoyed using, those answers would have been quite different!

Hi Jane – my current favorite liquid lipsticks are Sephora Cream Lip Stain, Huda’s liquid lipsticks, and MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor. All 3 of these are comfortable enough for me to wear. They don’t make my lips shrivel up like prunes, either. Then again, my lips are fairly smooth, especially for my age, so that’s rarely an issue anyway. Weird because I do have ex-smoker lines ABOVE my upper lip! Idk?

Even on my worst days, makeup is still something I look forward to.

1) My rosacea-prone skin does not respond well to powder, but it’s a must to keep foundation in place under a mask. I’m grateful for my Kiko powder foundation (all of their iterations are great). It sets my foundation with zero dryness and has a lovely natural finish.
2) All of my Pat McGrath six-pan palettes. Easy and effortless with guaranteed compliments.
3) My Benefit Cheek Leaders Palette. All those pink tones lift my spirits and my complexion.

I’m not into Benefit products and their aesthetic, but in my early 20s I was so thankful for those sets they used to make. Travel sizes were not that used at that time, and being able to buy sets with multiple powders and products, and getting multiple things without investing in full sized was something to be thankful for in college. I would have totally purchased the Cheek Leaders palette back then. 😁

I feel the same way about Benefit, actually. I definitely have better quality cheek products (although Benefit highlighters are AMAZING), but as someone with a pale, cool skin tone, this is the only cheek palette in which I can use every single shade. I should love my ND and Nars face palettes more, but the pink Cheek Leaders Pink Squad palette is truly special, and an amazing one and done palette for “no-makeup” makeup days.

I am thankful that year after year MAC doesn’t change the formula of their core base products. I don’t know what I would do if th suddenly change the formula of (or even discontinue) the Prolongwear Concealer or Waterproof Foundation.
But I’m also thankful that they expanded the shade range on their brow products, especially the Brow Boots Fiber Gel (having more cool tones for brunettes is always a win for me).

Although thankful is a big word… I don’t see myself thinking of thankful about makeup. 😅 Skincare, maybe more.

1. Laura Geller Baked Balance-n-Brighten Foundation. It color corrects and is lightweight, and wore well in late summer temperatures in Hawaii and New Orleans. I usually don’t go for luminous foundations, but this one looks great.

2. Supergoop (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder SPF 35. It’s a great touchup powder, taking down shine from oil and humidity. I’ll use it by itself if I need a super quick look. I swear it has a blurring effect. Plus, I can wear it over my rosacea because it’s mineral sunscreen, too.

3. Sydney Grace x Temptalia Palettes. A dream come true for readers, too. Even just seeing them in my drawer makes me smile.

My Pat McGrath four pan palettes. I love getting them on sale!

Colourpop Blush Stix in Picnic Time. I love cream blush but hate having to stick my fingers into a pot. Perfect color and easy to apply.

Shiseido Visionary Gel Lipstick in Code Red. I think I have a new favorite red lipstick.

The three makup products that I am thankful for this year are:
1. On the Horizons palette light – it has most of the shades I use for neutral and cool toned eye looks. Love this palette all the time.
2. Maybelline’s Spice for Me lipstick – the perfect colour for me in all seasons
3. L’Oreal’s True Match foundation in porcelain rose – not only is this foundation easy to apply and lasts all day, but it has the cool pink undertones that I need, plus it is often on sale – so that means I am truly thankful to find a DS foundation that works for me.

And I am especially thankful for this blog Christine. The long hours that you and Shaun put in to keep it up and running is truly amazing. Thank you so much.

First of all, I would say this blog. But I’m not sure it counts as a beauty product (or does it???)

So I would say
1 – Shine by SD Excelerate. I just had such a rush of emotions when I first used this shade. It’s so beautiful and the shifts so magnificent that it’s thrilling to me.
2 – Enchanted Lustre Fluoroprisms -especially Absinthe and Plastic! The sparkliest, boldest colors ever and the whole collection just make me smile!!
3 – All the greens/teals from the SG x Temptalia palettes! I love all the palettes but the greens just blew me away!

Ooooo, missed that Veil Nebula so I’m glad it was a fav of yours this year. Thanks sharing! This year I don’t recall buy-in much of anything, but here are the three that stand out:

Definitely Clinique’s Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation!

I will say your and Syndey Grace’s “On The Horizon” (and that by hope since my daughter STILL hasn’t sent it) LOL! Perhaps I’ll receive it for Christmas.

Though it was a purchase from little bit ago, I never used it and then “Voilà” it is now my fav mascara and I hope I can restock it – Kiko’s Ocean Feel Twist Mascara 2n1 (which now is called “Unexpected Paradise Waterproof Twist Brush Mascara”)
