What makeup brand do you think has really upped their game in the last couple of years?

Fenty Beauty is one that comes to mind as I think their recent releases over the last two years have been consistently higher-performing than some of their original releases (e.g. eyeshadows). They have always had some standout products, just that the brand as a whole has definitely gotten better across the board.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I would agree (as per my comments on yesterday’s discussion on Fenty) as I’ve purchased more in the last 18 months from Fenty than before.
Also, Patrick Ta with his cream/powder duos, but his line is still so new anyway.
I could definitely list more that have dropped the ball.

Suqqu has reformulated almost all of their products the past few years with notable improvement. The eyeshadows are just terrific, even if they donā€™t photograph as well as they look.
Iā€™m also impressed with Natasha Denonaā€™s continual striving for improvement – reformulating shadows, listening to customers, making smaller shadow pans and more affordable to the retail consumer. Iā€™m always excited for her releases and curious what new things sheā€™s created or what old thing sheā€™s changed.

I think Lunar Beauty has really found their footing over the past couple of years. When the brand first started, there didn’t seem to be a clear vision for the aesthetic of the brand, or any sort of cohesion. I’ve really enjoyed what I have tried from them, and I’m always curious to see their new releases. I also like that their new releases are pretty few and far in between, because it makes them seem more thoughtful (looking at you, Coloupop!!)

This is hard because it seems some are sleeping ā€¦ Iā€™m looking at you Hourglass! On the upside I think Dior has upped their game and brought some interesting shadows and highlighters. Yes, Dior !
