In the winter, it’s the Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson Sun Tan and Sun Light (cream formula). In the summer, it’s powder bronzers: Bobbi Brown Antigua or MAC Studio Sculpt Defining Bronzing Powder in Delicates, though 2016 is likely a Tom Ford bronzer summer!

Shannon Avatar

I only really use two different bronzers – Nars Laguna if I want some shimmer, or Benefit Hoola if I want matte. I really don’t need anything else!

Anne Avatar

Hmmm, I think it depends on how daring I’m feeling with my bronzer as a very pale person. A more low-key one I reach for is the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow (I have both the powder version and the cream version, which I switch out depending on the type of product I want to use that day), and a bit more amped up one is NARS Laguna.

My absolute favorite, will never wear another matte bronzer is It Cosmetics Vitality Glow Anti Aging Matte Bronzer. It is so natural and applies beautifully. I am light skinned and it’s impossible to overdo.Right now,at QVC.com, you can get the bronzer and one of their amazing brushes for the price of the bronzer alone(39.50). Their brushes alone go for 40.00-50.00, so it’s really a great deal.

I’m glad to hear that someone likes this product. I found it too hard in the pan and almost impossible to get color payout, but I haven’t tried the brush you reccommended! It makes sense that a brush like that would work well. I’ll have to try it!

GloriaKate Avatar

I have the brush too! lol. I’ve just never been fond of that type of brush, but duh, right? If they market a brush with a product it probably works best with that brush. I really like Sephora 59 for bronzing (big egg shaped brush) bc I’m so afraid of having a distinct bronze/contour line. The 59 gives a good wash of color with a more pigmented, softer product. It works really well with my Kat contour palette.

But alas, I will try it 🙂

Natalia Avatar

:)))) I was gonna apologize for my “within your price range” remark, I meant more like “if you a ready to spend that amount on a single purpose brush” *blushing smile”. Hope the bronze brush works for you. Make sure to swirl it with a bit of a pressure. Don’t be afraid of the line, it is really hard to get it with this product (that is why you cannot contour with it). Good luck and thank you for the chat!

I don’t use bronzers much, either to bronze or to contour but the one I do reach for on those occasions when I do is a LE Clarins one from summer 2015 called Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact. It’s very much like the Guerlain ones with 4 sections but it cost a whole lot less and it was easier to decide which colour to get as it only came in one colour. How I wish they’d bring it back and make it permanent.

I am also much more of a blush/highlight fanatic. I do like Becca Blushed Copper a lot, though it is very intense! I used to (back in my college days) use the heck out of Caboodles Sunkissed Bronzer in Tahiti and Hawaii. Yeah – remember Caboodles?? I loved them so much I bought a few extra when I learned that the whole line was being discontinued. I know they are still floating around here somewhere, I’ll have to dig one out and see if it’s as good I once thought 🙂

CeeBee Avatar

Ha, I used nearly an entire pan of that Caboodles Tahiti bronzer – I don’t remember what I did with it in the end but as someone who rarely hits pan on ANYTHING, it sticks in my mind.

I loved that thing (sigh… happy memory :-))

I tend to use bronzer on the perimeter of face only when I am looking wan or I’ve gone too light in colour on my foundation mix. I reach for Bobbi Brown face and body bronzer duo – Telluride. I like both shades, but find the ever so slightly shimmery more rosy side gets used most. I also like her bronzer in shade Medium because it does not turn orange on my face like countless others. I despise Guerlain bronzers with a passion (I’ve been suckered in a number of times), they pull a horrible orange on me.. tried multiple shades too. I think I prefer something far less pigmented and usually something with a red base.

chris Avatar

I normally don’t wear bronzer. The shades normally are too orange for my NC50 skin tone. I have really become a fan of highlighters. I think BECCA Champagne Pop, Rose Gold and Topaz will continue to be in heavy rotation this summer. I also like MAC Stereo Rose and Gold Deposit.

Lacey Avatar

I know it’s not an appealing brand outside of Facebook communities, but I have a friend who sells Younique and got me to try their bronzer. The darkest shade is the only bronzer I’ve found so far that works when I have a tan. Other bronzers either don’t show up or they look too orange. I do like MAC Refined Golden during the winter, though.

Darla Avatar

I, too, enjoy Younique’s Beachfront Bronzer (I use it in the lightest shade, Sunset). I also really like Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil and Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Bronzer.

Jess Avatar

In the winter (i.e. if I’m pale) I go with Gucci Golden Glow Bronzer in Caribbean Ochre. In the summer it’s Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Bronzing Veil in Tropical Days all the way! Such an alive, summery look with that one.

Arpita Avatar

The Balm Bahama Msma Bronzer. Actually i dont do bronzing/ contouring much; since i have natural cheek bones; but fir special occassions; this is the one i use.

Eileen Avatar

Although I tend to “embrace the pale” most of the year, summer in sunny So Cal definitely calls for a bit of bronzer. My all time favorite is Guerlain’s classic Terracotta. I currently use #00.

Stephanie Avatar

Pretty sure I don’t have a bronzer that exists outside a palette (Well, I do have WnW Reserve Your Cabana, but I don’t consider it a true bronzer since it functions like a highlight). I usually use the first shade on the bottom row of the NYX powder contour palette as a bronzer (if I use one). Either that, Lo-Fi from the Gwen Stefani blush palette, or the one in Naked on the Run (I’m more into subtle bronzer if I use it).

Sunny Avatar

Probably Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, its stunning! one of my other favorites is laura mercier ritual baked bronzer. I need to try the guerlain terracotta next 🙂

Jenny Callahan Avatar

Most often I opt not to bronze, especially in the winter. I had trouble finding a bronzer that didnt lean Orange on My fair skin. When i did use bronzer it was MAC Aphrodite’s Shell, then I discovered Sephora Brand Fiji from their Colorful Collection. It is a step up from the lightest shade, but it is definitely cooler toned than the lightest one. Its the perfect bronzer for us fair skinned gals!

Jessica Avatar

Elf Blush/Bronzer duo (the original). I don’t use it much now but it does have quite the dent in it. I’m going to try and use it up before summer.

Chacha Avatar

I looooooooove Bronzer and i looooooooooove answer more than one product lol So i think its…
Laura Mercier Matte radiance powder
Too faced palette Book of bronzers
Mufe Pro bronze fusion

Dianne Avatar

I wear Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil every day to warm up my face, but in the summer I go a bit deeper with Nars Laguna or Too Faced Chocolate Soleil.

Erin Avatar

Bobbi Brown, cause it’s the only one I have! My old Guerlain one bit the dust a long time back and I never replaced it. I’m trying to embrace the pale. If Chanel every released Notorious again, I’d probably buy multiple pans and just use that for definition!

AngieGCarp Avatar

I have used Bare Minerals Warmth for 15 years…it’s scary in the container but perfect year round and especially in the summer because it doesn’t sweat off easily..

Tiffany Avatar

For years it’s been NARS Laguna. I just got Bobbi Brown’s Beach shimmer bronzer @ Sephora, though, and I’ve been using that instead. It’s gorgeous!

Connie Avatar

Both Two Faced milk chocolate and chocolate soleil bronzers or Luminous Bronze Light from my Hourglass Ambient Edit palette. If I want to contour the hollows of my cheeks and my skin is not too pale, I use a tiny bit of The Balm’s Bahama Mama.

Beredhaired Avatar

I use bronzers on a daily basis and i have so many !!!!
My most used is Mac Aphrodite’s shell for winter. I love its bronzy pink undertones.
For summer when I don’t wanna wear any blush I go for my Terracotta mosaic in brunette from Guerlain.
When I want a sunny bronzy look i use the balm Betty Lou Manizer or Mac cheeky bronze msf.
If i want a strongly defined look i go for Laura mercier baked bronzer in ‘Ritual’ .

RMW (Rose) Avatar

I’m lost on this question! I have never used a bronzer and I wouldn’t even know where to begin with the application of one! My bad!! Lol. 🙂

Laura Haslam Avatar

I don’t use bronzer but I do contour. My favourite so far is NYX Blush in Taupe. I used MAC Pro Longwear Blush in Baby Don’t Go before that but I feel NYX is a bit softer, less pigmented which is usually a bad thing but it means the contour looks more natural and can be built up more.

VAL MARTIN Avatar

Laura Geller Brobze n Brighten which I’ve hit pan on. I also have the urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette which contains a bronzer so I’ll switch to that when my BnB has gone.
