Shimmery Eyeliners

LOVE! I am not super keen when they use larger particle-sized sparkle (or glitter), as that can be irritating and harder to apply evenly as the particles almost move the pigmentation/base product. I love more pearl-like and metallic eyeliners, though–especially for pops of color.

They’re a total love for me too. Matte liners can make me look tired but something sparkly – where do I sign up? The only “issue” is that they’re not all waterline safe though that’s not a problem for me since I only tightline my upper lash line and for that, I use Marc Jacobs’s skinny liners as they last all day and they have no glitter.

LOVE.. I use a lot of matte shadows with hooded eyes so shimmery eye pencils along my waterline always adds a bit more punch and depth to a look. I do not like clunky liners with too much glitter and chunks that interfere with application, or worse, cause eye problems. Shimmery pencils can also act as a great base. I add matte shadow on top and the effect is really quite pretty. I’m living the one and done colour story on my face these days with everything co-ordinating and a simple eye with one or two colours tops. It’s easy and sophisticated. A bit of shimmer can just add that bit of extra oompf.

They can be very pretty & eye brightening, but it’s a fine line (No pun intended.) when used on my old eyes.
Shimmer/metallic can really call attention to my lash line that isn’t as smooth as it used to be.
So I love the shine.
I hate that it’s not a great look for me.

I’m a big fan of shimmery eyeliners, I think they can be a fun accent or even used as a base for a shimmer shadow. Like you said, as long as it’s not a chunky glitter formula.

I used to have a MAC cake eyeliner in a deep grey-blue with shimmer. It came in a pot and mixed with water on a brush. That was such a flattering liner for me and a dumb reach. I haven’t used or seen any shimmer or sparkle liners since then that I wanted to pursue.

HATE. I have really sensitive eyes and no matter what they end up red and gritty after using a sparkly liner. Removal is the worst. I know I’ll use remover, then eye wash, followed by drops and still feel like I’ve poured sand directly into my eye sockets. I prefer a matte liner and glittery shadow that I can lock into places and remove with a single swipe later.

They tend to be glittery and since I mostly wear eyeliner on my waterline, they can irritate and ruin my eyeshadow. I have a few glittery eyeliners and rarely use them.
