Matte Blush
I don’t mind it, but I find I reach for something that’s more satin-like at the lowest shimmer level because they’re always easier to blend out for me and seem more forgiving on top of foundation.

I have some nice matte blushes but I really do prefer something with a sheen, something that buffs out so that my cheeks have a nice, rosy “glow” (ha, sounds like the name of one of my fave blushes – Dior’s Rosy Glow Awakening Blush).
If it has more of a so-called skin-finish to it where it doesn’t look powdery, then I do love them. Unfortunately, some can look either ashy or powdery on me, especially some lighter shades. I do have to be careful with matte finish blushes in that respect. Q
I really like a matte blush, I like the way it sits on top of my foundation, adding colour to my cheeks. I don’t mind a slightly satiny one though.
I absolutely don’t do shimmers or glitters on my face – they tend to make me look too shiny. A lot of the shimmery blushes have yellow undertones or goldy kind of finishes that just leave a gold stain on my face, which I don’t like.
Well, I don’t own a blush. I’m blushless. For years I did wear Nars Madly. Now Madly is gone. I must find a blush. When I do it will be any but matte. Maybe a slight shimmer or satin. Actually, I own nothing matte. I am a satin/shimmer woman. Maybe I’ll look into Pat McGrath blushes…she seems to like shimmer.
I pretty much only use matte blush with the exception of a couple of my Laura Geller blushes. I like the natural look I get with matte blushes on my mature skin. Blushes with sheen or sparkle tend to drag my cheeks down and accentuate pores.
I’m a fairly easy going person and I like trying many different things so give me a matte, satin, cream to powder, shimmer I can find a plus to all of them and if I’m not feeling it I will layer them.
