Bare Minerals complexion rescue. My skin has been behaving very good lately, no breakouts/ texture, and redness calmed a bit. Been sitting in my cupboard for a few years and finally took it out again. So glad I did.

CoverGirl + Olay Advanced Radiance and Simply Ageless Foundations mixed on my face; Tarte CC Corrector under my eyes, a dot of Benefit Boing Cakeless Concealer under my eyes; Maybelline Better Skin Concealer on either side of my nose, on my chin and the middle of my forehead; then a large dot of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter on the topmost part of my cheekbones. Then I used the No. 7 Lift and Illuminate Powder on my T-Zone and under my eyes to set.

I have not worn foundation really. Maybe some Bobbi Brown BB Cream or my Bare Minerals Matte Powder foundation on the few days I felt like it. Used my MAC Studiofix powder sample to set. Other days just a little Too Faced Born This Way concealer. Even with the hours of Zoom meetings it seems impractical and unnecessary. But regardless of what I wear I’m just using up what I have so no perfect and miraculous foundation combo to be had really!

The wearing of a mask when I go out (not the Halloween kind and not the skin care kind) has sort of quashed my use of foundations, etc. – when I saw the inside of my mask turned beige with my IT CC cream, I was a bit surprised. BUT… as the sunnier days are here, I’m using Australian Gold Tinted facial sunscreen – that stuff is wonderful – with YTTP Glowberry Oil and sometimes Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter under it. I don’t want to diluted the sun protection in it by mixing it with a glow product (like Algenist’s Luminizing Drops or MAC Strobe, etc.)

Nope, it’s one colour only but the shade works well for me. It doesn’t give a ton of coverage but sort of blurs things and tones down my redness. A cosmetics gal at Shoppers told me a while back that the tint in sunscreens (LRP, Drunk Elephant, etc.) is just one colour because it’s not actually meant as a colour corrector and the tint is there more to show you where you’ve applied it and if you’ve missed any areas. I’d never heard that before or since but it sure makes sense and explains why there is generally only one shade.

The promo info tends to lable the shade as ‘universal for every skin tone’… blah blah blah. Your explanation makes so much more sense. I am not looking for a ton of coverage and so I am down with a product which just tones down redness and blurs a bit. I hate wearing sunscreen and iT cosmetics CC.. it’s just too much stuff, but I want the protection.

I have been skipping foundation and just going straight from SPF (Farmacy, but have klairs Airy UV Essence on order for when it runs out soon) to dabbing on some concealer where I want it. I use the Benefit cakeless concealer and it works quite well.

PMG Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Foundation and CYO Long Lasting Foundation. I put one pump of each in my palm and apply the CYO to my nose. Then I mix them together and apply on the rest of my face. The PMG is a bit too luminous and the CYO tones it down perfectly but as I don’t want any luminosity at all on my nose, it’s just the CYO there. I can wear this combination with any of the primers in my collection.

If not using a tinted sunscreen (like AG Botanical SPF 50 Tinted Face Mineral Lotion or the new FAB Weightless Liquid Mineral SPF30) I am currently loving my Kevyn Aucoin Foundation Balm over untinted sunscreen just to even out my skin tone.

MAC Prolongwear Concealer applied lightly all over the skin, but build up for coverage for my genetically dark under eyes. Everything set up in place with MAC Bloting Powder, which each day reminds me how bad the Maybelline SuperStay Powder Foundation I had before was.

Yay! Perfect timing! I am just finishing my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation that I mix with Skinceuticals sunscreen. I really like it, but I feel the urge to try something new after 2 bottles. I might regret that decision since I can’t swatch these days! Lol! Thanks for this question, Christine! 🙂

I have been dusting one on my old MAC mineralized skin finish powders ( it has some shimmer to it) all over my face and more concentrated on my cheekbones and then putting about 1 pump of Pat McGrath Foundation or Armani Maestro over it. It is a sheer luminous finish.. I am loving it for now and I don’t have to powder over it.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream all over my face and Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base (Mineral Pressed Power) for my foundation. I found a new application tool a few days ago, Real Techniques Miracle Powder Sponge FOR POWDER MAKEUP. My oh my, this beats my Beautyblender in the application of powder foundation.

Etude House Total Age Repair Wrinkle Reducing BB cream SPF 45- I’m trying this out to see how it compares with my Missha Perfect Cover BB cream SPF 42. So far I like both, have not had any issues with polka dotting or splitting on my nose (unlike my former favorite IT CC cream which kept sliding around & sinking into pores unattractively). The shade range on both the Etude House & Missha BB creams is horrible and veers gray, so to get a decent match I have to use a smidge of LA Girl Pro Conceal in “Yellow Corrector” to warm them up.

I haven’t had foundation on my face in over a month. Doesn’t seem like it is worth it to sit home. When I have gone out, which is twice in six weeks, I am wearing a mask so no point then either. Prior to the stay-at-home order here in Montana, I was using my Dior Forever Skin with the Watermelon Glow and since it was the dead of winter, I didn’t really need to set it. I have just placed an order for the Sephora spring sale and picked up the Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Foundation. I have wanted to try it for awhile but wasn’t sure about the colour and since I am not sure when I will be back in a store that carries it, my daughter and I just decided I should order the lightest shade. I am always frustrated when brands make the lightest shade in a cool and warm undertone but the first neutral is a darker shade. Anyway, we will see how it looks when it gets here which won’t be until sometime in May. I may be wearing makeup again by then but not sure. I have risk factors so I have been being really careful. My daughter has been off work since early April and she stayed home until she had been alone for 3 weeks and then she came home. We have been doing some organizing around my house and binge watching TV. We spent a couple of days watching the Twilight Saga, BBC Sherlock and all of the season’s of Law and Order Criminal Intent. I am a huge Vincent D’Onofrio fan and loved the character he portrayed in the series. I am still investigating skin care for the sale so if anyone has great ideas for very dry, very mature skin, I am all ears.
