Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

By the Fireplace has been a favourite of mine for 2 or more years and my daughter loves it too (we bought her a bottle for Xmas one year). Paloma Picasso is a new favourite and both Shalimar and Aromatics Elixir are neck and neck for third choice. I still have a bottle of Fresh Cannabis Rose (which they no longer make) which I also love at this time of year but as it’s not available any longer, I use it in a very miserly fashion!

Awe, Amber Absolute was such a good one. So sad it’s discontinued. I have By the Fireplace on now! I love Gilded Fox by Pinrose (smells like hot cocoa!), Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Oud Wood, Kilian Intoxicated and Angels’ Share, and Initio Parfums Side Effect. There are many more, but those are the big ones.

There is a brand called Dua Fragrances that along with their own original fragrances does “dupes” of iconic fragrances. I just happened to see the other day that they do one of Amber Absolute called Opus Amber. Judging by the reviews it seems like it does a decent job of mimicking the original. It might be worth looking into whenever you run out.

Same ones every year:
1.) Tom Ford Black Orchid for special occasions or when I’m feeling a little shmexy,
2.) YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche for an “everyday” fragrance.
3.) Avon x Christian LaCroix Absynthe for when I feel very deep and mysterious, as in; would love to go to a super old graveyard dressed in a long, flowing black dress with a black woolen cape and do etchings of the stones while sipping spiked hot cider!

Hard to narrow them down. I like wearing fragrance with vanilla, amber and tuberose notes during the colder weather. Right now I’m loving.
Killian’s Angel Share
Serge Luten’s Tubereuse Criminelle
Vanille44 by Le Labo
Roja’s Sweetie Aoud
Tom Ford Lost Cherry

I feel very out of it when it comes to perfume these days. I’ve not been in a store where they sell perfumes for more than two years now. Covid and living in the countryside will do that, obviously.
I say Shalimar and Black Opium.
I am really interested in trying By the Fireplace, it sounds so interesting and so many seem to love it. However I don’t buy scents unless I’ve tried them on, so maybe I’ll get to go to a store when summer comes.
I wish more stores had samples for sale.
