Maybelline Better Skin Pressed Powder. Imo it rivaled high end powder. Hate how drugstore brands discontinue good things!

Speaking of drugstore, Revlon Lip Butters were perfection and I’m still mad they discontinued those!

I know Too Faced has their whole chocolate bronzer line but I love their Matte Bronzed and Poreless bronzer. I think they even had a matte and poreless line. Shame they discontinued it. In fact I wish they’d go back to good face powders rather than diffusing everything with peach and chocolate!

The whole Better Skin line was great. I do miss that foundation as well. Superstay isn’t exactly the same. I repurchased the foundation and the powder several times.

Revlon used to have a bronzer (photoready?) that was 4 matte shades in one circle. Not swirled together but no dividers either. I thought their lip butters were so pretty but drying.

First of all, the original Tom Ford blushes were total gems. Quality was there, shades were wonderful. The ByTerry eyeshadow singles from a few years back. The quality and the color selection was fantastic. I also liked the Cle de Peau four shadow sets and wish they had continued them. And if I had a fourth, Shu Uemura did some stunning compact 6 pan palettes, which I wish had been continued because the shade selection was great for olive skin tones.

Dior Addict lipstick in City Lights, Anastasia Mario palette, and . . .Chanel Empreinte du Desert. The first because I love it and it’s almost gone and I don’t know of a dupe, and the second 2 because I was late to the party.

Jamie Avatar

I was late to the party for KVD’s Pastel Goth palette and was regretting it for years. I finally got a cute Sugarpill pastel palette so I’ve finally forgiven myself LOL

Mariella Avatar

I think it’s been reformulated, though, and isn’t as good as the “original”. I think they’ve now brought back Typographic too but I fear it might be the same situation.

Ana Maria Avatar

I wish I could rely on MAC store swatches to test the quality of reformulation (I also saw Print, another favorite, re-released), but those testers (exposed to air 24-7 for weeks, touched my many oily fingers) never perform like a new eyeshadow. But MAC formula has also a variance in quality already; I find that the `Made in Switzerland` shadows I bought from Europe are better than the ones `Made in Canada` I buy in US. I just don’t know why I’m not better at re-stocking when I visit my family back in Europe.

Only two would more than make my day (month??):
1. Chanel Notorious Ombre Contrast / Sculpting Veil. I missed out and would love to have it in my collection.
2. Ondine by Suzanne Thierry, Paris. This was the first perfume I truly loved. Swoon. My very favorite of all time, long gone. If I had a signature fragrance, this was it. Ondine was named after the heroine of the Broadway play, Ondine, starring Audrey Hepburn as Ondine who fell in love with her co-star, Mel Ferrer, and they were married shorty thereafter. A close dupe was made after it was discontinued by Catherine Deneuve called ‘Deneuve,’ but sadly, it was discontinued, too.

Anne Avatar

Is it really Ondine? I’m going to take a look. Crossing my fingers. I haven’t seen it in literally years and years. How could it still be good? Makes me skeptical, but thanks very much, Mary.

Tina Avatar

I can only think of one, actually, that worked like magic and I can’t dupe. It was Dr. Perricone’s lip treatment with olive oil polyphenols. I used up about 10 tubes of that stuff. It smelled like chocolate and mint (ever so slightly) and my lips were always in perfect shape no matter how I abused them!

Vittoria Avatar

I second this! I’m not over this being discontinued. Also that Neuropeptide Face Activator (like a liquid toner) that fixed every skin texture issue so quickly. I’ve asked the rep I know what happened to the lip plumping treatment. No answers really except she says it was the DMAE that made my lip line so plump & bouncy. Then Idk why smearing some of the priciest Perricone MD serums & treatments on my lips never achieves the results that white tube could. ?

Tina Avatar

It was the only Perricone product I used, but I drove 1 1/2 hours to the nearest store to buy it, so I always bought 3 at a time. I absolutely loved it. 🙁

Ana Maria Avatar

Sincerely, I don’t even remember all the eyeshadow shades I loved and MAC decided to discontinue… just In The Shadows pops to my mind now. I just discover 50% of the times I need to replace a favorite. But it’s MAC, some might end up being re-released sometimes.
They’re also seeming to discontinue the Prolongwear Brow Set (it’s in the Goodbyes section); I do hope they’re just updating their brow game.

Otherwise, the only products I’m really missing are Paula’s Choice make-up items (foundations mostly).

kjh Avatar

Ooh, long term Paula person, who has largely defected to South Korea. I have given every piece of Paula m/u away and the foundation (hautelook) was way too yellow. Paula’s team pans everything on the cool side for complexion. Sorry, girl, some of us were born that way. At least with Paula skincare, once you eliminate your own personal ingredient issues, you know you will get a solid, safe product. But, hey, I don’t like Tilbury, either, lol. Different strokes…

Lancome – Le Khol Poudre eyeliner (HG smokey eye product)

L’Occitane – Neroli perfume (in the square bottle)

And I might be showing my age here, but I loved and still miss Naturistics and Rachel Perry lip balms!

Mariella Avatar

1. Cargo Blu-Ray concealer (it really has been the BEST concealer I’ve ever used and, of course, it’s now GONE)
2. MAC Jardin Aires pigment. I only have one of the holiday minis from years back and it won’t last forever…
3. Either the previous formula of the Urban Decay lipsticks (was it Revolution? I have 2 or 3 but there were more I’d have liked to purchase) or MAC Moth Brown eyeshadow (as I never got a chance to get it).

Genevieve Avatar

Tom Ford Emerald Lust – never, ever got near to purchasing it in Aus, couldn’t find an international retailer that would send it over…broke my heart.
Colour Pop Snakebite eyeshadow
CP’s Lux lipstick shades. I think Colour Pop discontinues its best products way too quickly….

BrandiD Avatar

I miss Mac Viva Glam V lipstick and Clinique Sugared Grapefruit lipstick; I’m hoarding those two a little bit since I can’t replace them. I wish I’d picked up the original Naked palette when it was available; I kept talking myself out of it, and now they’ve reformulated Urban Decay’s eyeshadows and I hate them.

Moxie Avatar

Revlon’s Lip Butters. Why they discontinued them, I don’t know.

Almay’s Smart Shade lipstick. I contacted them to ask if they’re still being produced since I can only find them on Amazon, eBay, etc. They said they are. They are not.

Bonne Bell Lip Lix. I’d give anything for these to return.

Estee Lauder Pure Color lipstick in Sugar Honey- A coppery almost caramel peachy barely-there nude, the shimmer is a lovely coppery gold that flashes pink in sunlight. This was my HG summer/warm lippy.
Urban Decay Rebel Vice Lipstick – Another Lippy that was a HG for everyday, can apply without a mirror too.
Tom Ford Pink Glow Eye & Cheek Compact – released in 2015, this was a handy travel & purse companion for 2 years.

MAC Stone lipstick
UD Biker Lip Gunk (the original from like 20 years ago!)
Bite’s nonvegan agave masque

Honorable mentions:
Bite Taro lipstick and all the Nearly Neon lipsticks
MAC Foxy Lady Kohl
UD Scratch Deluxe version (its pinker, a perfect silvery rose gold)

Perfumes as a separate category:
MAC MV3
Tom Ford Shanghai Lily
Aveda Hana

I wouldn’t say they have to be brought back, but if they were, I’d likely repurchase or tell someone else to definitely get them: GOSH brand’s Growth mascara (French cosmetic store, Marionnaud’s old makeup brand), any Sydney Grace eyeshadows not rereleased (because they are most often very good and the colors special, like Redeemer & Redeemed), and Kissing Potion (for the nostalgia and fun of it!)

Benefit Lemon-Aid

LORAC eye shadow single in Rhapsody

Estée Lauder Las Vegas Roulette Wheel compact, because mine is missing one of the rhinestones. : (

Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara – possibly one of the 1st. I wish I could include pics of the tube I saved and that mascara brush/wand that separated lashes so well!

It used to be made of a weighty gunmetal. The applicator end felt good & heavy in my hand which helped with control while applying. It justifies paying about $30 for mascara.

Hopefully Perricone MD ppl or another company will see this and make it: We miss that discontinued lip treatment/plumper in a white tube! I’ve yet to find a product that smoothed lips and treated them so quickly, making them have more elasticity and bounce. I’ve been using the No Lipstick Lipstick balms for years. I use many other Perricone products but none seem to have that satisfying effect. Pls send help. ?

Tina Avatar

I forgot about the MAC powder when I answered this. It was THE perfect powder for me! I went to the counter to buy some several months back, and when she said it was discontinued I was so upset! I would’ve bought many back ups had I known!

Dani Greene Avatar

Not really something permanent that was discontinued, but more of a LE item that has not been re-released: MAC Coffee Walnut contour cream. It’s the only cream that looks natural on my olive skin.

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Foundation

MAC Pro Longwear Brow Set (the best brow gel. It’s being discontinued, I hope they will release a replacement that’s just-as-good-if-not-even-better.)

Guerlain Les Voilettes Translucent Compact Powder (got it based on Christine’s reviews in 2014! Such a great powder, albeit expensive for the amount of product and how fast I went through it. Beautiful compact. Can’t find it anywhere in Canada/the States now—really hope they’ll make it available again.)

Katie Avatar

Well Mac cosmetics Colour cream base in keep it loose is my all time favourite blush. It is perfect for my rosacea and dry cheeks!!
Mac mineralize skin finishes in the old formula
Also they use to have this powder that was replaced with next to nothing powder and I loved it!!
