Wet 'n' Wild Grew Up in Cobalt-imore Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
Wet ‘n’ Wild Grew Up in Cobalt-imore Nail Lacquer
This Cobalt Stopped Me in My Tracks!
Wet ‘n’ Wild Grew Up in Cobalt-imore Nail Lacquer ($3.99 for 0.29 fl. oz.) is a rich, medium-dark navy blue with a mega-sized dose of shimmer in light blue, blue, and silver. The only color that really came to mind was Zoya Twila, which is really quite different–it has horizontal bar glitter, so they don’t really look alike, but they had a similar depth of blue.
After applying the polish to just one nail, I was blown away.  The richness of the hue was incredible, and I only needed one coat for completely opaque color–the swatches show one coat.  It dries down quickly (faster than the average polish, probably because of the metallic finish), and it did dry to a shiny finish.  I wore this polish for wear, since I’ve never tried this particular formula, and it lasted a full week without chipping on me with average tip wear.  I will, of course, remind you that not much does chip on me.  The formula was a real beauty; not thick but not thin, and it applied like a dream with so much color and even color at that.
Also worth mentioning is that this is a rather small bottle of polish as far as compared to most–it’s only 0.29 fl. oz. compared to 0.50 fl. oz. Â Though, high-end polishes tend to fall between 0.34 and 0.50, it is pricey compared to the rest of the brand’s range ($1.99 for 0.50 fl. oz. is usually what you expect and see).

Gorgeous! I have *so many* blues already but there’s always room for one more…? I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Wet ‘n’ Wild nail polishes so I just might NEED this in my life!
Christine, what nail color did you wear on your wedding day?
I wore Illamasqua Creator on my fingers and Illamasqua Charisma on my toes 🙂
OMG. I NEED this for my halloween costume!!!
I love it when a drugstore bargain brand polish really rocks. 😀 I just put on Wet n Wild Megalast polish in On A Trip, which I got at the dollar store (*bargain boogie*). LOVE IT. Strange flat & rounded brush, which works wonderfully, and the formula is so pigmented and easy to apply! Better than a lot of my high-end polishes. Now I’ll be looking for Grew Up in Cobalt, too. 😉 Wet n Wild is looking so good to me today!
I have one of these, I forget which one, and the color is beautiful BUT they are SUCH a pain to take off
I’ve been a fan of WnW polish for *years*. I wouldn’t consider this “pricey” at all, especially if you consider their prices haven’t gone up in 20+ years, yet the quality has improved so greatly (yet it seems lately every major brand has raised prices at least once a year, yet in some cases quality has actually diminished).
I think these might be discontinued. I saw just individual bottles around Walgreens, the displays have been removed.
Ahhh, the cobalt color is so on-trend! I’m also loving the finish.
Wow, the loveliness! Reminds me of Essence’s Choose Me!: tons of shimmer, vibrancy, great pigmentation. Choose Me! leans more teal and the shimmer has gold instead of silver, but it’s the same kind of fantastic. 2€ as it’s drugstore, and a dupe to OPI’s Catch me in your net. Nuff said 😀
OMG, I was in shock when I saw the swatches!! The colour is really beautiful en it has a really special structure.
This is pretty… sadly, I don’t have your great luck with polish wear, and WnW chips on me faster than most brands (even with a good base and top combo, I’m lucky if I get two days).
So eye-catching! Reminds me of Orly Sweet Peacock
Wow. Just… wow. WNW polishes are generally a cut above, especially for the price point. This looks awesome!
I’m not the biggest fan of blues, but being that I am from Baltimore, I MUST have this color! Going to look for it next time I’m at Walgreens! 🙂
By the way, congratulations, Christine (and Shaun the Tech Guy, and Mellan!)! 🙂 I wish you many years of love and happiness 🙂
The difference in quantity doesn’t concern me, considering that you only need one coat. You probably get the same number of uses out of this bottle that you would out of a larger bottle that requires two coats. Plus, it’s super cheap, plus, I’ve never used up a nail polish.
It’s not such a big deal, but I did want to bring it to everyone’s attention in case they were surprised when it rang up at the register or at the small size! 🙂
I wish you had reviewed this sooner. D; (Nah, j/k.)
BUT!~ I passed on WnW’s Chrome polishes last week because they were so tiny.
I hadn’t bothered to look at swatches of this collection before I went shopping. /fail
I do own Zoya Twila though…
This whole line is great. I got one coat coverage out of every one of these I have bought!
I really, really like this. I mean, I’m a fan of anything glittery or sparkly or shimmery on my nails, but this is especially lovely. I may have to look for it–and no, I don’t normally do regular polish but for $4 I can keep it around if I ever get bored with my gel manicure 🙂
Wow that is a GORGEOUS color–and the formula certainly sounds impressive. I am looking for this polish tomorrow!
Reminds me of OPI swimsuit…nailed it. Maybe a little lighter in color. For the price and the quality, this can’t be beat. WnW is always impressing me.
Aw what a great review! Yay wet n wild.. I’m a big fan of them and their philosophy
I know you dont do. OPI Christine, but this polish reminds me of OPI Wonderfull Alice from the Alice In Wonderland collection
lol, i always love it when drugstore brands get the A rating. It is like rooting for the underdog 🙂
This would be fabulous for layering!
Blue isn’t my colour but WOW re: the quality of this!
Amazing, my first impression was: WOW! Definitely one of the most impressive shades I’ve seen in days.
from these pics it reminds me a lot of China Glaze’s Dorothy Who?. Cheaper though.
I picked this up tonight, after seeing your review, and I really love it. I especially like how quickly it dried. No worries about bashing my freshly painted nails here. 🙂
The color is not for me, but the quality of W ‘n W is pretty spectacular for the price point.
