If you could only wear one nail polish for the rest of your life, which would you wear?

Illamasqua Raindrops comes to mind, but I also really love Zoya Binx these days…
Thanks to reader Melinda for today’s question idea Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
Pink gel coat, by Perfect Formula. My nails love it – it is expensive for something so mundane, but I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear it. Once I am tired of naked nails, I don’t even have to remove it – it doubles quite nicely as a base coat.
It would be a hard choice between Illamasqua Scarab and OPI 4 in the Morning.
China Glaze For Audrey, or a good black with a cream finish.
Thx for posting my question Christine! I’m a red nail girl, and I really like OPI’s The Thrill of Brazil, so I’d probably choose that. It’s inexpensive, and lasts about seven days on me, which is pretty good for my oily nail beds.
OH god that is a touch question…
But I guess I will choose Estee Lauder Hot coral ……:))
Its coral and approriate for all season as well 😉
Zoya Daul was my first thought. Illamasqua Nomad was the other. So choosing one is just too much.
OPI Malaga Wine or Essie Fishnet Stockings! Basically, a classic blue red.
I love both of those colors too!!
A-England Princess Sabra. Unique and beautiful, but also neutral enough to go with everything.
Wet N Wild I Need a RefreshMint. It was the only polish owned for a while because I could wear polish at work.
OPI Pompeii Purple. I just never get tired of it. And it goes with my tons of magenta/fuchsia/hot pink lipsticks (that I swear are all different colors no matter what my husband thinks).
Chanel Jade!
Essie Allure! Second place would go to Essie Ladylike but Allure is just so versatile.
LA Girl Rockstar Groupie!
Zoya Chantal. It’s a perfect nude color that complements my very fair, neutral/pink skin tone.
OPI An Affair in Red Square!!
FoA Bombshell, a good nude that matches my skin tone perfectly, just like a foundation
A holographic for sure !
The Enchanted Dime Piece. It’s a silver holographic nail polish.
It has the rainbow colors, so it’s like to wear every colors !
I think i’ll be happy with it all my life 😀 !
Xoxo
Michelle
YSL Gris Underground for me – I wore it on my wedding day!
Oh man, this is a hard one. If I can cheat the question, I would say Revlon’s Eclectic (a mint) with French manicure-style white tips. A minty French manicure just looks amazing, and Eclectic is just a perfect color. Revlon brushes are thin and pathetic, but the color and lasting power is awesome.
Christine, where do you buy Illamasqua in the States now? It seems like neither Sephora nor Bloomingdale’s are carrying it anymore, at least online. :/
Zoya jolene or Essie tourquise & caicos
Probably a timeless neutral that will never go out of style! Maybe a soft taupe?
For me, it’s the CoverGirl Outlast nail polish in “Golden Opportunity”. It’s the one I end up wearing the most!
Essie Sand Tropez…
Either Dior Incognito or Grége! 🙂
I don’t think I could commit to just one! That said Illamasqua Cameo, Chanel Tapage and A England Ascalon have all been getting a lot of wear from me recently.
I’d wear Zoya Pandora. It’s the perfect cool tone nude with a touch of silver shimmer.
Chanel Frisson 🙂 It goes with everything, makes my nails look instantly helathy and more polished (ba dum TISH!!), and even has a touch of sparkle. It is my conference nail polish! You can even get different effects with different numbers of coats – my favouite is actually one!
I’d pick Essie Meet me At Sunset. And then weep hysterically a week later when I couldn’t change it.
I rarely wear nude nails, but in this case I would. I would learn to hate any one single colour if I had to wear it every single day. Any one specific colour may not work with everything I wear. Also, I was pondering black except for the ‘rest of your life’ part which had me thinking black wouldn’t look so good on very aging hands. So yeah, nude nails.
Maybe OPI You’re Such a Budapest. The formula is really thin, but the color is a to die for periwinkle. On my toes, it would definitely be China Glaze I’m Not Lion.
OPI Ink!
OPI Princesses Rule. A light, shimmery pink. My absolute favorite.
Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow – an oldie but goodie
Whatever black polish ends up being my fav in life.
Lincoln Park After Dark. I just seriously love it. It’s been my favorite for almost 10 years now. Give me vampy nails or give me death.
Another one of my favorite polishes!
Illamasqua Throb. I believe that it is the perfect classic red polish. It has the right amount of blue and shine. The formula is not too thick or thin either.
deborah lippmann’s shake your money maker!
Nubar Reclaim! Green isn’t even my favorite color, but that’s my all-time favorite polish and I’d be too sad to be unable to wear it anymore. It’s got such a gorgeous holographic shift. 🙂
This one’s easy, I’ve worn OPI’s La Paz-itively Hot for the last six or seven years. I think it’s the perfect hot pink with just the right amount of blue. It’s looks mostly matte but there’s very subtle shimmer.
Chanel “Rouge Noir”.
Vintage Revlon “Nordic Nude”. It’s exactly the color of my fingers and makes my hands look so finished even if my nails are short. I definitely hoarded it when I found it because it’s so perfect
In case of colour, pretty sure it would be Inglot’s Breathable enamel in 672. If only it would last longer…
China Glaze Custom Kicks! I could throw out all my other polishes and wear Custom Kicks everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of it!
There is a 2011 LE Revlon color I’m obsessed with called Watermelon Fizz.
“I’m Really Not A Waitress” OPI – I always wear it
I love this one too!
China Glaze White On White
OPI Into the Night (Spiderman)
Chanel Quartz, hands down.
Since I’d want it to go with anything I’d wear, I’d choose either Nails, Inc. Gel Effect in Porchester Square or Tom Ford Sugar Dune.
First polish I thought of was Rimmel Pillar Box. It’s an older, 60 second something or other Rimmel, I’d call it a jelly, and I just figured out how to make it apply nicely. I couldn’t stop looking at it once it was on! Maybe Zoya Jade would make this list or China Glaze Pure Torture. I’m a red kinda girl, if I can only have one!
Dior Wonderland. I am obsessed with this color. I love all the Dior polishes. The application is gorgeous, and the brush is the best I have ever used. I get a solid 3-4 days of wear out of the Dior polish as well. And that is saying a lot because I work as a nurse and I am constantly having to wash my hands and put alcohol sanitizer on them. Most polishes don’t last a day.
Bear Pawlish – Peek A Boo!
If I could wear only one it would be sheer torture!!! However, as I too am a red girl, it would have to be Chanel Dragon, followed closely by OPI Skyfall, THE perfect burgundy/oxblood.
With all of the textures, colors, and styles that are available
, I want to go with clear. Since its for the rest of my life.
China Glaze’s Ruby Pumps is my ultimate. No matter how many bottles I buy of other colors, I always have at least one of these, and at least every third or fourth polish change I switch to that one. Essie’s Forever Yummy is a close second, I love a true red, but Ruby Pumps is the only polish I have bought repeatedly. Although, for the record, my nightmare is something like one polish for the rest of my life. 🙂 I live for variety!
Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream is probably my favorite polish of all time. Or OPI Vampire State Building, for something slightly more understated (at least compared to sparkly sea green).
Essie Tart Deco is my signature color!
Revlon Trade Winds — a great polished nude
OPI Sweet Heart!
I really like OPI Mod About You!
A red one. Propably OPI Big Apple Red or Essie Fifth Avenue or Essie Too Too Hot or Essie Fishnet Stockings. 😉
I would choose Essie Merino Cool. It’s just a pulled together color for me and goes with everything yet doesn’t overpower.
Chanel Malice
A-England Tess d’Urbervilles or Zoya Ki
Without a doubt Revlon Colorstay in Vintage Rose. Too bad that whole line got axed.
