Lilas

Viseart Lilas Petits Fours Eyeshadow Palette ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, more taupe-leaning color story that included two matte eyeshadows and two metallic eyeshadows. The matte formula was lightly to moderately powdery, but both shades applied evenly and had good longevity so it was just a little messier to use than ideal. The two metallics were pigmented and very bright/shiny when applied to the lid.

Fondant

Fondant is a very light, lavender-taupe with subtle, cool undertones and a bright, metallic finish. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and blendable without being too dense or too firmly pressed into the pan. It had opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly to my lid and lasted nicely for nine hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Lilas

Lilas is a light-medium, rosy mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, lightly powdery consistency that had some excess kicked up in the pan but wasn’t prone to fallout during application a nd blended out with ease. It had rich color coverage that stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Tiramisu

Tiramisu is a very light, lavender-taupe with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges without sheering out. The texture was soft but moderately powdery, so there was light fallout during application (even when I tapped off excess). It lasted for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Argente

Argente is a darker taupe with subtle, cool undertones and a bright, metallic finish and faint micro-sparkle. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin but had light to moderate fallout as I applied and blended it out. I’d recommend using it with a dampened brush or a fingertip to minimize fallout. Thet exture was soft, smooth, and slightly dense but not too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

This review is the perfect example to why I come to Temptalia. Just look at the photos and swatches Christine took compared to the photo of the palette on the packaging! Her photos reflect the more cool toned aspects of the palette that I would have never noticed from Viseart’s own photography. I would’ve assumed this was a more peachy palette. Instead, this is way more unique and beautiful than I initially thought!

Drat my impatience! The Viseart Paris website had everything on sale, including singles of ALL the mattes from their 12-pan palettes. So, I placed an order for Lilas, some singles that I always wanted but couldn’t justify buying a whole palette for, and some empty palettes (I recently discovered that my Clionadh stained glass eyeshadow singles fit in those pretty nicely). Anyhow, about 30 minutes after I checked out, this Violette palette debuted. If it had been there during my shopping spree, I would’ve snagged it for sure, even though 5 of the 12 shades are repeats that I already own in the Liason palette….now, I have to decide if I wait for reviews, or take the plunge on untested purples, which can be the trickiest color to get right….🤔

Thanks for reviewing this 4-pan Viseart palette first. I am still on the fence about getting it. Although I don’t have any full on dupes, I feel like I all ready have other shades that fill the same “spots” in my eyeshadow line up…BUT, cool toned shadows that score well are so hard to come by, I may end up buying this anyway.

Ordered this during black Friday sale and it finally arrived yesterday. So, of course, I wore it today. Absolutely LOVE the shimmers here. Like many others, I wish one of the mattes had been slightly deeper in tone, but, overall I am pleased with this palette. It is cooler toned, but still neutral enough for most undertones, I think. The colors wore well in terms of longevity for me, too, which I struggle with I cooler tones, especially, for some reason (warmer tones typically last longer for me without fading or creasing). Now, if Viseart could have been more consistent in quality (other petit 4s) & honesty in palette promotion (etendus) with their other offerings this season, I would have been even more excited.

I love cool palettes, and you’ve shown off this little beauty perfectly, Christine. Thank you! Oh, and in case you haven’t heard this lately, your photos are always *stellar* and extremely helpful! 💗

Have been very disappointed with this palette. Far too pale and washy for my pale skin & blue eyes. The darker matte needs to be a lot deeper to give any real dimension, and the shimmers are so shiny they don’t have much colour on the eye. I’ll persevere until I find the right dark shade to pull in from another palette. Looking forward to trying the Praline one tomorrow though and looking forward to your look Christine! 🙂

this is definitely a case of the sum is greater than its parts, because each shade is only okay but all together i was swooning. thank you for your review!!
