We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Debauched is a hard pressed pigment so it’s not going to swatch well. Shame that the swatches were presented without commentary first because I read a lot of Of them aren’t meant to be creamy but are actually meant to be used as tattoo liners on Anastasiavsparrow’s Instagram

If Debauched is marketed somewhere on the packaging as supposed to be sheer then I can totally understand why the swatch looks that way. Personally I like bright/saturated purple shades so it’s not to my taste. I’ll be interested to see what the full review says on the mattes.

Everything looked so good and then I saw the swatch for Debauched (warm orchid purple on my monitor). It’s pretty bad. The other swatches look good but why is this one so patchy? I hope the rest of the palette makes up for it.

Wow, they should have called Rebellion ‘Christine,’ as it is an almost dead on dupe for your skin. The mattes are not up to what we used to think of as the Viseart standard.

Debauched, Defiance and Empowered are l hard pressed shades and aren’t going to swatch well. That doesn’t mean they aren’t going to perform well on the eye!

That eye look is gorgeous! Not impressed with the matte swatches. Glad I didn’t order this one. But I’m super excited for Viseart’s Grande Pro 2 palette!! I hope it reviews well.

I’m torn on this palette. The eye look that you put together is an amazing jaw-dropper. Perfect shades for winter, or whatever it is we get here…
My one big hesitation has to be Debauched. What *ought* to have been an electric violet, looks like a weak performer. I will say this, I don’t see its weakness in your eye look, though!

Eyeshadow developers, Viseart included, have said time & time again that purples & blues are the most difficult pigments to formulate into a non patchy, smooth, opaque product. I’m not a chemist & so I’m not really sure what it is about those particular pigments that make them so difficult to work with. However, we aren’t wearing the eyeshadow on our arms. I’m not too concerned if a shadow doesn’t swatch well but applies to the eye lids smoothly. I think people that won’t buy Libertine because one shadow didn’t swatch on an arm well but looks great on the eyelid where it is to be worn will be missing out on a good product.

I think it has something to do with what pigments are found in nature. Browns, reds, oranges, I would expect making those pigments out of natural colors to be pretty straightforward. Finding cyans, cobalts, and violets to use as pigment and creating a consistent and comparable product must be challenging.

I always use surprised so the patchy colors don’t bother me. I really like this.
You have outdone your creativity with this stunning eye look.

I knew everyone was going to beat up on Debauched before I even saw swatches. I knew this after reading Anastasia Viseart’s description of the palette. The hard-pressed sheer matte pigments are meant to be used as a wash of color or wet as an eyeliner.

Rebellion: Highly pigmented creamy powder matte vanilla base shade. Used for highlighting the brow bone and softening darker shadows.

Unleashed: Deep gold creamy metallic pigment shade which can be used in the inner corner, all over the lid, and in the center of the eye for a pop of luminosity.

Empowered: Hard pressed sheer matte merlot pigment. Can be used all over the eye for a wash of color or wet as an eyeliner. Pigment and is not meant to be creamy.

Resistance: Highly pigmented creamy powder matte fawn shade which can be used in the crease and for all over color.

Boundless: Semi-matte shimmer poppy shade for all over color and a pop of color.

Chant: Deeply pigmented creamy metallic burgundy shade. Can be used for all over the eye or as an eyeliner.

Defiance: Hard pressed tattoo pigment in deep navy which can be used as an eyeliner. For all over color blend carefully. Navy Tattoo is a hard-pressed pigment and is not meant to be creamy.

Shameless: Highly pigmented creamy powder metallic peacock blue shade. Can be used for all over shading, as an eyeliner and for a bright pop of color.

Debauched: Hard pressed sheer matte fuchsia pigment. Can be used for all over shading and blending. Fuchsia tattoo is a hard-pressed pigment and is not meant to be creamy.

So, while this is true in terms of the descriptions posted, the swatches that Viseart has posted don’t seem to align with the sheer part of the descriptions —

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn7Wihthgim/?taken-by=anastasiavsparrow (Anastasia stated naked arm with no primer)

There are also swatches of the respective shades dry/wet if you click on the appropriate shade (the sneak peek will only show one product and one swatch photo).

And of course, Empowered, Defiance, and Debauched will all be held to the same standard so Debauched being sheer may be as intended but then Empowered and Defiance will lose points for not being sheer. That being said, I already reached out to Viseart for clarity on the description on whether they intended “sheer matte” to actually mean sheer pigmentation + matte finish or sheer is somehow a description of the matte (though that loses me).

Your eye look is S T U N N I N G and for a second I completely forgot that there’s no green in this palette. DAT BLENDABILITY THO. Love when shades play nicely together and can create such gorgeous new colors when mixed. I’m waiting for my grand pro 2 but this looks like a phenomenal little bombshell. Gah I want it. Plus the names are so so good.

The look you made was so selling this, but now the colors seem bla and not really unique. I’m more and more thinking Huda’s latest mini Obsessions palettes and possibly the UD Elements will be my only holiday gifts. That’s fine, I need another palette like I need a second husband (LOL!)

Ah, but if I keep looking at your look, I really want this palette. Argh! (So, I’ll have to stop looking, right? LOL!)

This palette is so good. The two colors I was questioning the most are my favorite. I didn’t think I would use the bright orange or the bright violet. When I used them they didn’t come out looking neon….which would have been awful on me. I go for more natural looks. They were rich but muted. Easy to work with and get a well blended look. Perfect for me. Adding interesting colors but not in a overly bold way. I can’t really speak to how they perform if you do want a heavily saturated look.
