Victoria Beckham Beauty Blonde & Midnight Lid Lustres Reviews & Swatches
Blonde
Victoria Beckham Beauty Blonde Lid Lustre ($36.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a bright, white gold with subtle, warm undertones and warmer, yellowy-gold shimmer and sparkle. It had a moderately-dense, slightly thicker feel in the pot, but it was soft, silky, and blendable when applied to bare skin.
It had mostly opaque coverage, which was easily built up to full coverage, and it did not seem to matter if I used a dry or wet brush as it was very high-shine either way. It wore well for eight hours before creasing faintly on me.

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.17 oz. - $211.76 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "wet, pearly finish" that has "buildable, high-shine brilliance." The finish is described as "buildable," while the pigmentation doesn't have any descriptors but the brand shows it "in action" with full coverage with a single pass of a fingertip and fully opaque promotional swatches.
If you're unfamiliar with this type of eyeshadow formula, it tends to feel like a hybrid between cream and powder, but it has the feel of loosely-pressed powder that has a slightly thicker, more emollient feel to the touch. Imagine loose eyeshadow that's been gently pressed with a fingertip: that's what this formula is like and does. It's not so fragile to the point where it looks and feels like loose powder in the jar, which is thanks to the binders in it, but it yields that kind of pigmentation and finish.
The range delivered high color coverage in a single layer, which worked well with fingertips as well as brushes. While they could be used wet, they certainly did not need to be in order to achieve the "wet, pearly finish" that the brand marketed these as having. I did feel like using a dampened brush or fingertip helped to minimize opportunities for fallout, as using a dry brush sometimes had light fallout depending on the shade. I would suggest using a lighter hand when working with these as not a lot was necessary to achieve an even layer of product.
They wore between eight and nine hours on me before creasing slightly.

Midnight
Victoria Beckham Beauty Midnight Lid Lustre ($36.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a rich, navy blue with strong, cool undertones and more of a blackened base paired with a mix of lighter and darker blue shimmer throughout. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which was slightly more metallic when applied with a dampened brush compared to the dry swatch (which wasn’t the case with most shades in the range).
The texture was creamy, emollient, and dense to the touch, though I could feel that it was more loosely-pressed in the pot. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before creasing a bit.

I have both of these Lid Lustres and they’re so pretty. I apply them as toppers and they brighten up any looks. Sadly single shadows get neglected because I prefer using a quick and easy eye shadow palette. But I love the look of these on the eyes.
I am very pircky about navy blue shades – it’s a bit like Goldilocks – not too matte, not too gliterry, not too ‘nlue’ – but Victoria Beckham has got this one completely right. A beautiful midnight navy shade.
Okay, I need to know – what is “nlue”??? Sounds like a cool thing that I don’t understand at all!
These are so beautiful! However, I do have CP Now and Zen for Blonde, plus I have a huge pan of highlighter on my WL that may be even closer. As for Midnight, the few deep blue metallic eyeshadows I do have are enough for me.
I hope formula has improved. My blonde gold eyeshadow in the pot, was a big disappointment, it dried out so quickly. Note that I close the container tightly and store it well.
What do you mean by dried out? It’s more of a loose powder formula that’s been compacted, but it’s not really a cream eyeshadow so I wouldn’t expect it to dry out so much!
Thank you for letting me know! I have the old cream eyeshadow from Estee Lauder and Victoria Beckham collaboration. I only used it three four times, it dried out so fast.
Blonde is the kind of shade I find harsh and unattractive on me, going by the swatches. Midnight is lovely, though but I rarely, rarely, rarely wear blue eyeshadows and I’ve more than enough dark blue shadows for when the whim takes me.
Oh my…these look amazing. I can’t swing deep blues like I used to, but if I still could? Gorgeous.
It seems to me her line is classically expensive with a certain level of quality, but that isn’t worth the cost. How does anyone else feel about her beauty line compared to Tom Ford and similar?
