Victoria Beckham Beauty #01 Matte Bronzing Brick Review & Swatches
#01
Victoria Beckham Beauty #01 Matte Bronzing Brick ($58.00 for 0.34 oz.) is the lightest duo of the range, and it was, indeed, very light on the bronzing side. Each duo is designed to have a warmer and less-warm shade (I’d be hard-pressed to really call most of them cool-toned!). They were both pigmented, blendable, and sat beautifully on skin.
Note: $58 includes the price of the bronzer duo in its compact. The refill can be purchased for $42 (which is what is shown.)

The bronzer is supposed to "blend seamlessly, wear effortlessly, and [be] impossible to overdo." It is also supposed to have a "soft focus finish" that "blur[s]" skin. The brand doesn't seem to make any specific claims on pigmentation, though promotional swatches show them as opaque.
The bronzers tended to be more pigmented than not with many shades delivering full coverage in a single layer, though they could be used with a lighter hand to get more buildable coverage, if desired. The texture was particularly finely-milled, smooth, and silky without being powdery nor too thin or too dry. They picked up evenly with a brush and blended out effortlessly, as marketed. I'd agree that they have some blurring capabilities, too, as they seemed to soften and leave my skin look smoother rather than powdery or "flat" as more matte finishes can.
They lasted between eight and nine hours on me before showing signs of fading.

Dusk
Dusk is a soft, yellowy peach with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was better classified as a peach than a brown–it was that light–so those who often find bronzer shades too dark for them may find this to be quite suitable. The texture was very smooth and silky without being too powdery. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Sunkissed
Sunkissed is a light brown with subtle, warm rosy undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage paired with an incredibly finely-milled, silky-smooth texture that picked up readily with a brush and delivered even coverage that almost blended itself as it was applied. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

These do look like lovely options for very light to the lightest end of light-medium skintones. But, obviously not for someone in my range. Glad she made a few variations, though!
I think these bronzers apply to those with medium to light complexions with yellow undertones. For those with very pale/porcelain complexions, such as myself, bronzers really don’t apply – nearly all bronzers have yellowish undertones, whereas our complexions have pink undertones.
I disagree with you. I have this product and think it’s pretty average in quality. Had a lot of fallout. Too warm for those of us with cool tones.
Sorry Ms. Beckham, those really look like they would turn orange on my super-duper fair olive skin.
BUT! What is the glorious lippie you are wearing, Christine? That is gorgeous!
(and thank you for the review, also- as always. I really wondered about this release, but now that I see your swatches I know it wouldn’t do)
I think it’s Pat McGrath Beautiful Stranger with Bronze Divinity gloss on top!
Thank you! It is heavenly!
