Urban Decay Revolver Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Revolver Eyeshadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “stone gray.” It’s a soft, neutral gray with hint of brown. It’s a very, very faint hint and will be more pronounced over those with yellow undertones. Revolver has a matte finish, and while it’s very smooth and soft, it is a little sheer and powdery. It works better applied onto the lid with a brush than swatched on the arm, though.  I think Urban Decay’s description of “stone gray” is quite apt–this is exactly the color of stone.

I’m NC15, light brown eyes, blonde hair and i really can’t find the way to make this eyeshadow works on my lids 🙁 i guess it is because of my eyecolour. if they were blue, this probably would work better

Hi! I really follow this blog from a long time and I see that you are really consistent in the posts you make and I really enjoy that, because there are not many people who would show swatches (not to say you are the only one I know 🙂 ). So I would be really grateful if you could show swatches of lipsticks of a brand called Manhattan Cosmetics. Of course if there is in your country.

I have really been hunting for grey matte eyshadows… but to no avail. I think I even posted on your formspring at some point. I am NC44… I am afraid this will barely show up on me. Ideas?

Somhrita, one thing you can try is lightly apply a matte black shadow to your lids, then lightly dust a matte white over that until you achieve the gray shade you want. This technique has at times saved me at photo shoots. 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion Chris. I will have to try that!
@Christina I do have print. I guess I was more complaining about the lack of variety of matte greys. 😛

I have Revolver and LOVE it! My other favorite gray is UD Spare Change. It has a lot of shimmer, though, but for a matte this is great!

I like using Revolver to blend out the edges of a grey or black smoky eye. UD mattes are really great for that.
I’ve also used it to contour my face when I did a dead/vampire sort of look. It is also nice for filling in eye brows when you want them to be subtle instead of really brown/orange.

I love this color! I find it works best as a blending color when working with dark, cool, toned lid and crease colors! Love it to soften out the edges on MAC’s Glamora Castle!

This is one of my favorite UD shadows. I wish they’d offer a larger range of matte shades. It’s hard to find a wearable gray and this is my favorite for the lid.

I picked this up on hautelook as did a few of your other commenters. I love the formula but the pay off really is quite sheer.

I use this when I’m just banging around the house and running the kids to school and back. I just build it up a bit all over my lower lid and blend it out with a pretty shade,Creme Brulee, from Wet n Wild (actually, I really love this for it’s texture and color payoff, surprisingly. Go figure. It’s the first and only Wet N Wild I’ve ever purchased). Throw on some eyeliner and mascara, light cheeks, lip gloss. Done.

I bought this for $5 on HauteLook. I love it so much, I would pay $17 for it. It is a great matte gray, blends like butter and lasts all day. I use UD primer then swipe Nars Abyssinia and Alhambra allover my lids with a 217. With a 229 I lay the UD Revolver on the outer lid up to the crease. I line my upper and lower lids with some matte black shadow (either Mac Carbon or Nars Pandora> I also apply this with a 217 to the outer crease with a windshield wiper motion. Great look… works for the day as well as night.

LOVE THIS SHADOW!!!!!!!

This is one of my most beloved eyeshadows! I’m NW15 and typically wear this layered under other colors (Sephora’s Aspen, a pale silvery-white, and TheBalm’s Luscious Lani). I also use this in the crease when wearing lighter lid colors. Also a great blending shade. Super versatile. I picked up Revolver from allwholesalecosmetics (not affiliated!). It seems UD has discontinued nearly all of their mattes, which is a total bummer. I love their matte shadows (Secret Service and Cult are other faves).

That’s pretty much where I catch up on all the shades I want from UD and MAC..P.S. Nancy Drew was my hero when I was young I have never read the word “titian” since, which is a shame because it’s a great word

This looks a lot like the mid-tone shade in the old Asphalt threesome matte eyeshadow UD used to make. It would be nice to see those released again, the darker grey in the pan is my go to color for lining.

You must have read my mind! I found this in my stash yesterday and have never used it. I had meant to search your archives to see if you reviewed and/or
did a look with it

I like this shadow, like all UD’s mattes! Although I don’t wear greys very often I actually wore this as part of a smokey eye look a couple of days ago. I used this along with MAC’s Soot, Vanilla and another grey (maybe Bough Gray, I’m not sure), Black Russian Pearlglide, Well Dressed blush and Hue lipstick 🙂

I just came across this eyeshadow, I want to try a combo on my eyes of a flat gray with a light to medium pink (thinking of MAC’s Da Bling) and this looks like exactly what I am searching for. Yay!
