XX Vintage Vice Lipstick, $17.00 (Limited Edition)

Can you believe it’s been 20 years since we launched our first collection? (We know, we’re totally aging ourselves right now.) To mark this huge milestone, we’re bringing back old-school shades you thought you’d never see again. Urban Decay introduces Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection—featuring nine shades from our original lip lineup, all in our creamy, addictive Vice formula. The perfect mix of vintage UD and modern luxury, these shades haven’t been available in years! Get your hands on cult favorites like UV-B (a shifty blue that Wende wore all the time in the ‘90s) and Pallor (a modern, frosty lavender gray that’s extremely flattering). And let’s not forget our most-requested vintage shade, Bruise, a deep wine red with a green shift.

  • Oil Slick Sheer black with silver micro-glitter (Sheer)
  • Frostbite Frosted deep blue with multicolored micro-glitter (Cream)
  • Smog Deep coppery bronze (Cream)
  • UV-B Vibrant blue with purple shift (Cream)
  • Pallor Frosted lavender with gray shift (Cream)
  • Plague Bright purple with pink undertone (Cream)
  • Bruise Sheer deep burgundy red with green shift (Sheer)
  • Roach Deep burgundy-brown (Cream)
  • Asphyxia Soft lavender with blue micro-glitter (Cream)

Black Mail Vice Lipstick Palette, $35.00 (Limited Edition, Ulta/Macy's)

When it comes to our creamy, addictive Vice Lipstick, too much is never enough. Urban Decay introduces Vice Lipstick Palette, available in two unique color ways. Indulge your vice with multiple finishes and a DOZEN shades from our massive collection—from neutral to bright, dark to light. Every shade applies smoothly (without dragging or skipping), hugs lips, and feels amazing. Wende got tired of lugging around a heavy bag loaded with all her favorite lipsticks. She took a poll at UDHQ to find out how many shades her employees had in their makeup bags, and some had as many as nine! Ever the problem solver, she created our Vice Lipstick Palettes. Ideal for travel (and loaded with a retractable lip brush), both of these super-sleek palettes were made for experimentation. Been toying with trying a new shade but weren’t ready to commit? With our Vice Lipstick Palettes, now you’ve got no excuse. Keep your options open without having to weigh down your makeup bag. Use the included brush to layer or mix shades; it’s ideal for contouring and creating added depth and dimension.

  • Sheer Shame Berry (Sheer)
  • Firebird Deep fuchsia (Cream)
  • Big Bang Bright pink sparkle (Metallized)
  • Disobedient Medium pink (Cream)

It is so odd. 714 and Firebird seem to be the Vice darlings at UD. But… Why overlap!!! There are so many other colors to choose from that they could have used instead of duplicating. It’s counterintuitive to the concept of 100 shades to choose from. I would be curious to know what they would say if a customer asked why duplicate. All said, I will be buying both palettes. Lipstick is my vice…..

When I was in Sephora last night — last place I need to be shopping, but I digress 🙂 — the manager told me she “wasn’t sure” they were getting the upcoming UD Ultimate Basics palette. She said “we’d know by now,” but they hadn’t heard a thing.

I see this new LE Vice lipstick palette is Ulta/Macy’s. I wonder what if that will be the same for Ultimate Basics? Just an FYI.

A Sephora associate a few months ago told me they would not carry the new Vice lipsticks in stores. I informed her that she was misinformed. So, what they know and what they tell customers may not always be correct.

I can’t be the only person who cringes when she reads descriptions like the one for the Naked Illuminating Trio. It just sounds like they’re trying soooo hard to be edgy. And if anything is edgy, it’s not the Naked line anymore.
That being said, those are the first lipstick palettes I’ve ever found myself wanting to buy. I love the Vice formula.

I think I will actually make it through UD’s Holiday launches unscathed this year! It’s very lipstick- heavy, which I don’t wear much of, and the vintage shades of shadow haven’t really grabbed me. AND I dislike their nail polish formula… I’m not even interested in the new Naked palette- too matte for this shimmer lover. The only thing I thought I’d jump at was the Illuminator trio, and I’m not loving it. I was hoping it would have been the 3 new Afterglow Highlighter shades (Sin, Aura, Fireball)- I would have been all over that in a heartbeat! Not really digging these boring shades and the baked formula… money saved! (Just kidding, I’ll totally spend it on something else this season, haha!)

When is UD ever going to get rid of their bulky, clunky packaging? That lip palette looks like it weighs 5 lbs, would hate to lug that in my purse for touch ups

Linda Avatar

I don’t get the lipstick palette concept – so difficult to slip in your purse and touch up with after lunch ~ is this only for filming tutorials or wearing looks around the house??

Vivian Avatar

I totally agree! It seems so impractical… You’d have to plan on switching up your lipstick midday when you can’t access your palette! Maybe 4 colors and a brush would make it easier to use.

Gina Avatar

Looking at the Vintage lipstick swatches I know that I definitely need 3 of them-Plague, Asphyxia & Pallro.
The photos I have seen of the new Spectrum palette are AMAZING!! Can’t wait to see more information on that…..because it is a MUST buy for me.

Gina Avatar

I have no idea when it is launching.
I saw a picture of it on the Urban Decay thread on the Sephora chat forum.
It’s a Spectrum palette with 21 shades…and it’s a full rainbow this time. Red/orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and black/white/silver.
It looks AMAZING.

Honestly, I really didn’t imagine I’d want one of these lip palettes. I’m not a lip palette person, for one. BUT; that 2nd lip palette has some serious potential for my adventurous side! With the only catch being that I do intend on getting the full-size Disturbed, and do have Firebird. Still…large sampling of some shades that I may not want a full-size of: Junkie, Vanity Kills, Speedball, but only because I have a tube of Jawbreaker, close enough that I don’t need both in tubes.

I like the lipstick palette idea, they made something similar back in the day with the little lip brush I had it.They also had little face palettes with eyeshadow, lipstick, and lip gloss in one palette. The eyeshadow powder always ended up mixing in with the lip gloss and created a mess but I loved them back then there was nothing else like it.I hate the fact that they are repeating the 3 colors in both palettes I was going to buy both but now I’m pretty sure if I buy one I’ll only be getting the Junkie one.It just would have made more sense to do all different colors.

Wow this is disappointing! I don’t understand including firebird, 714 and Big Bang in both palettes. Plus ExGirlfriend from the Gwen Stefani collab is in the Blackmail palette. I have that one & Firebird already and 714 was too orangey for my undertone. I did see a few new colors I’ll need to swatch soon.
