Urban Decay 69 Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
Urban Decay 69 Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright red.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark red with cool, blue undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. The consistency was light-medium in weight with a smooth, almost gel-like feel that spread easily across the lips. It developed tackiness as it wore on, and it was moderately tacky by the end of wear. The color had semi-opaque coverage that went on evenly overall, and it lasted for five and a half hours with some hydration. Urban Decay Brickhouse (P, $22.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Victoriana (LE, $15.00) is similar. MAC Carmine Rouge (LE, $30.00) is lighter. MAC Ruby Woo (LE, $15.00) is darker. NARS Burning Love (LE, $26.00) is more muted. Guerlain Rouge Parade (920) (LE, $30.00) is similar. MAC RiRi Woo (LE, $15.00) is slightly darker. MAC Russian Red (P, $15.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Urban Decay Assassin Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright pink with glitter.” It’s a brightened, pinky-red with cool, blue undertones and pink and gold shimmer. It had somewhat opaque coverage, where there was noticeable color, but a lot of the lip color still came through. It wasn’t as pigmented as expected, and the opacity didn’t seem to be offset by an increase in shimmer (which can sometimes create the illusion of coverage). It sank into lip lines just slightly after a few hours of wear, but the texture is forgiving enough where you can smooth out the color by pressing your lips together. On me, it wore well for five hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn. Bite Beauty Seven (Watercolor) (LE) is lighter, no shimmer. Urban Decay 69 (P, $22.00) is darker, brighter, cooler-toned. MAC Carmine Rouge (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery. MAC Kinky (LE, $15.00) is warmer, more shimmery. NARS Burning Love (LE, $26.00) is cooler-toned, less shimmery. Guerlain Rouge Parade (920) (LE, $30.00) is darker, less shimmery. Sephora Collection Red Glow (P, $13.00) is less glossy. Revlon Fatal Apple (P, $7.99) is less shimmery. NYX Sunrise (P, $4.99) is pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Urban Decay Brickhouse Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “dark brick-red.” It’s a muted, medium-dark red with subtle, warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on evenly and wore well for six hours. The formula was comfortable to wear, though sticky, and hydrating over time. Urban Decay 69 (P, $22.00) is lighter, cooler-toned. MAC Opera (LE, $15.00) is similar. MAC Ruby Woo (LE, $15.00) is cooler-toned. Guerlain Rouge Parade (920) (LE, $30.00) is more muted, lighter. MAC Viva Glam I (LE, $15.00) is browner. MAC RiRi Woo (LE, $15.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Russian Red (P, $15.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I have a blog buddy who absolutely NEEDS to get Assassin! Both the name and the shade look like they were made for her… 🙂
Nice! 🙂
All of these colors look great on you (as always!), but they kind of look the same to me 🙁
They are very similar!
They’re the same names as the lipsticks so they’re layer able, right?
Some of them layer better than others, since the formula is a bit thicker and more opaque.
Those are some beautiful reds. I like that Assassin is a little sheerer.
It should layer well!
Yes, it would. Sometimes, it’s nice not to have an in-your-face bright red, too. (Though 99% of the time I’m all about in-your-face bright anything. )
these are SO pretty!!!
Glad ya liked ’em, Savannah!
I think I am going to have the problem of liking too many of these glosses! I am glad so many did well and they are permanent! Thank you for reviewing all of them for us! you are just awesome! 😀
My pleasure, Nicole!
They look great on you, Christine! But it’s a pass for me. No glossy reds are allowed in my stash.
Thank you, Elena!
The more I see of these glosses the more I want them! I can’t wait to try them on. 😀
Which ones do you think you’ll try first?
I have a bit of a list:
Quiver
Big Bang
Vice
Apocalypse
Brickhouse
Bittersweet
In no particular order ! 😀
Nice list, Gillian 😀
All of them are pretty, Brickhouse is my fave, but I already have MAC Opera
You’re totally covered 😀
I love all of them on you! Especially 69 and Brickhouse
Aw, thanks, Fancie! Will you be getting either?
How does Assassin compare to L’oreal Sparkle Frenzy? I’ve wanted that shade for years and haven’t been able to get it.
Sparkle Frenzy is brighter and more pigmented in comparison – more shimmer, too.
I like all 3 but I’d go with 69 and Assasin I think
Good picks!
Is it just me, or do all three of these look pretty similar? Not straight dupes, but similar enough that if you have one you don’t necessarily need the other two. I never wear red (or anything that’s not a MLBB), but even I’M disappointed at the lack of major variation in these reds.
They could have done a stronger, warm-toned red and made Assassin more glittery/sparkly.
Even though it didn’t get the higher grade, I am really diggin’ Assassin! I think it would look crazy cool layered over my MAC Damn Glamorous. Especially now while our weather here is getting so dry and getting hot.
Wow, 69 and Brickhouse are awfully similar. Oh well, at least I don’t need to get both; I’ll just get 69 because it’s cooler.
I love Assassin! Hope the glosses become available in Europe soon, too. 🙂
Cool names :))
I’m in LOVE with your eye makeup in these photos! It looks like cotton candy!
Which one would you recommend for layering over Urban Decay’s Mrs. Mia Wallace lipstick??
Thank you!!
Probably 69!
