Too Faced Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadows Reviews & Swatches (Part 1)

Strawberries and Champagne
Too Faced Strawberries and Champagne Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a light-medium copper with warm undertones and chunky, gold glitter. It had medium coverage in a single layer when patted/pressed onto the skin, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage using a second layer after the first layer had finished drying down. The liquid eyeshadow was watery and on the thin side, so it felt quite wet going on but did not tingle. It dried down quickly and did not have a chance to get into my fine lines, thankfully. It wore well for over 12 hours as I didn’t see any signs of fallout or migration during that time period.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.21 oz. - $104.76 Per Ounce
The formula is described as a "high-glitter, liquid glitter eyeshadow" that will "cover lids in full-coverage Tutti Frutti glitz." The brand recommends "patting" it on using the "flat side" of the applicator for "intense juicy sparkle," and for layering, "tap" the product over/onto the area. The best part about the formula is how well and long it wears for--no fallout, no movement, and longwear for as long as 14 hours on the lid. They lasted well when I used them as eyeliner on my lower lash line, but I did notice that when my eyes were heavily watering (the type of watering where you contemplate just removing all makeup and hiding in a dark room) that my tears did eat up the product on my lower lash line.
The downside to the formula is that it has a watery, thin consistency that works better for layering and washes of glitter all-over the lid than living up to claims of "full-coverage." I found that they were a bit more pigmented when applied with a separate, flat, synthetic brush and patted on, as described, but the applicator on its own often over-applied product and made it difficult to achieve precision application and avoid product settling into fine lines (due to too much product being on the lid). The formula dried down and set quickly overall, so when I used it to highlight the inner corner, on my lower lash line, or layered on top of other powder eyeshadow, I had no trouble with it getting into fine lines.

Guava Glitz
Too Faced Guava Glitz Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) contains iridescent glitter in a transparent base (clear as far as I could tell). It twinkled lavender, gold, and silver depending on the angle, but it often looked lighter and more pale lavender than gold on me. The consistency was thin, watery, and spreadable with a quick dry-down time that kept it from sinking into my fine lines. It had medium to semi-opaque coverage when pressed/patted onto an area and left to dry, but I recommend using a separate applicator to avoid over-applying product. It seemed to wear well for 12 hours as there was no fallout or migration over time.

Sweet Spot
Too Faced Sweet Spot Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a medium, coppery brown with warm undertones and flecks of chunky, gold glitter. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that was buildable to medium coverage but fell quite short of full coverage. It worked best as a layering product over eyeliner or other eyeshadows. The texture was thin, watery but spreadable, with a quick dry-down time that kept it from creasing prematurely. Once it set, the eyeshadow stayed in place well for over 12 hours without any visible fallout or glitter migration over time.

Honey, Please
Too Faced Honey, Please Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadow ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a medium, rosy copper with subtle, warm undertones and gold and silver glitter. It had semi-opaque coverage in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer (be sure to let the first one dry down!). These certainly seem much nicer looking applied that one may have expected in the initial swatches. I still feel as though these glitter particles look too chunky for my comfort level. I’ll stick with UD Moondust and Fenty Galaxy e/s’s over Nyx Glitter Primer or with a brush dampened with MAC Fix+.
For sure – they do apply better than they swatch!
Hmm, I was hoping Strawberries and Champagne would appear more pink like it does in the tube.
Bummer!!
There sure are a lot of glitter products this year!
I guess we are moving away from all the matte!
I love liquid metallic/glitter shadows and have quite a few from Stila and CoverFX but now that brands like ColourPop, Essence and ProLux offer an almost identical product at significantly lower prices, I can’t justify $20+ each. I know some people don’t like “dupes” but as you’ve said before, products should be available for all budgets.
I love the shades, but not the glitter. A shimmery or metallic effect would have been more to my taste. There are lots of customers that can’t use the glitter.
I suddenly find myself eating my words. I thought these wouldn’t appeal to me. I have been proven wrong.
