Too Faced Pin Point Mascara Review
Too Faced Pin Point Mascara ($19.50) is just not a mascara that works with my sparse, all-willy-nilly lashes.
Claim: An extreme defining, volumizing, and lengthening mascara.
Results: Â Slightly longer, thicker lashes–but that’s about it. Â It’s not a dramatic difference between my natural lashes and with mascara. Â When I think “extreme,” I’m definitely thinking about getting close to false lashes status. Â I think if you have a lot of lashes, this might work better for you than it did for me. Â With sparser lashes, the mascara has to work pretty hard to get fabulous lashes, IMO. Â I didn’t experience any smudging or flaking throughout the day, which is always a plus. Â I doubt I’ll be reaching for this mascara in the future, because I have several that give my lashes better results.
Anyone else tried Pin Point? Thoughts?
Bare lashes…
Mascara-free lashes for comparison!
Very disappointing mascara! There is barely any difference between your natural lashes and with mascara! Thanks for the review: I’m not going to buy this one!
Yep, exactly. If I wanted my own lashes, I wouldn’t need mascara!
Have you tried the new by Terry mascara called BLACKSTAR? Its $39 and i wondered if you tried it yet?
Nope, I haven’t tried it yet, Leslie!
thank goodness you reviewed this mascara I was honestly THISCLOSE to buying it!
Happy to save you some $! 😉
How dissapointing! I have the original Too Faced Lash Injection mascara, and after all the raving reviews and the SA’s promises, I was quite dissapointed with the forumla/consistency, etc. However, as you said, there is NO smudging or flaking during the day, but the downside of that is it takes me up to 10mins to take the damn stuff off!
I remember Lash Injection (albeit not well), and I think I even reviewed it on the blog awhile back… but it wasn’t impressive enough to replace my usuals.
Wow, Pinpoint is my new HG mascara! I absolutely love it, I find it really really lengthening for me. Not really a volumous mascara, but I go for length any day. I’ll be buying this over and over. I love the thin wand too, I tend to bump my lids with thicker brushes, this allows me to try different application techniques and it’s perfect every time. I adore this stuff!
I’m really happy to hear it worked for you, Amanda! I think it’s so great to be able to hear from someone who LOVED it. It helps give other people who are considering it another side to see 🙂
im always looking for different mascaras to try out…thanks for your review
Christine try the YSL Effet Faux Cils its the best one out of the tons of Mascaras i tried but its expensive.
ive gotten one tube of Maybellines Collosal volume express yesterday…just to try out ….i hope its an ok mascara because its cheap ….next month back to my beloved YSL lol i had to save money this month 🙂
I will have to try it soon 🙂
I think Colossal is OK. It’s decent enough!

for superduper lashes you still need falsies though 🙂
i don’t like the name of it to begin with…i don’t want my lashes to look like pins ha
LOL, that is true!
Since you have sparse lashes, you should try the regular lash injection. I don’t have many lashes either, but lash injection works like a charm. It makes my lashline look full. My old friends were asking me if i had fake eyelashes on! Oh, and if you like other Too Faced stuff, I suggest using their promo code TFFriends to get 25% off!!! Love it!!!
I have, actually! I believe I even did a review here on the blog for it 🙂 It didn’t wow me, so the mascara sits in my mascara drawer, lol.
I like the regular lash injection mascara much better than pinpoint. They’re supposed to be the same formula, just different brushes, but I guess the brush really makes all the difference! A lot of people with sparse lashes tend to love the pinpoint, though. They say it gives them so much length.
It’s amazing how much the brush matters!
I just bought some thinking I’d like it. It was OK. Same as in the picture. I like the tube type mascaras because they don’t flake. I really love Trish McEvoy’s High Volume Mascara. When I want a bit more in terms of thickness/night look I add the Mac primer and that seens to work just fine. I’ve also tried the new L’Oreal tube mascara and I thought the results there were even less the pin point.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one to have this turn out this way!
i love this mascara it makes my lashes look fake especialy if i ‘fluff up’ the tips with the regular big brushed lash injection! x
