Tom Ford Fall 2021 Collection includes new shades in the Lip Color and Gloss Luxe ranges, along with six blush duos (I have four). The Gloss Luxe formula came out some time ago, though this is my first time trying it, and now I need to go see if I have any more lingering around that I never got around to reviewing–lip products are endless!–because they seem promising with respect to texture.

The blush duos are stupidly expensive; it’s Tom Ford, so I wouldn’t have expected affordable, but the $90 price tag seemed inordinately high relative to the brand’s other products, including their single blushes. I am happy to report that the texture of the duos seemed much better than anticipated; they were soft and more yielding without being powdery–I was fearing for stiffness–but I was surprised at just how similar the duos were. There are two that I don’t have, which are rosier/pinker for sure, but these four feel like they could have just been left as two and added two more duos (like a deeper berry/plum, maybe true red).

Here are swatches…

I was thinking the exact same thing. Neutral party and sunrise pink look like pretty MLBB shades, but $57 for a lip gloss? Even if I could afford it (I can’t) no way would I pay that much for a lip product. Honestly the Sephora brand has some nice lippies and they’re very inexpensive!

“stupidly expensive”…you’ve got that right and I’m not stupid enough to pay Tom Ford prices for anything, let alone these “look alike” blush duos (and if you think they’re expensive in the US, hold your breath and grab the smelling salts for the Canadian prices). I don’t own a single Tom Ford item (save a few points perk or freebie fragrances) and I’m quite happy to keep it that way.

I honestly don’t think much about this collection – the blush duos do look very similar to each other and unless you tried them in person, it would be hard to find the right one for you – that is, of course, if you were prepared to pay the incredibly expensive price for these. The lip glosses aren’t really wow either.
And the prices in Australia would be absolutely horrendous too….

I said the exact same thing about the blushes, they really are stupid expensive, but I still want the bright pink Aflame duo. I guess it’s a good thing that it’s either sold out or not available everywhere I shop but I don’t know how much will power I’ll have if I see it available. Part of me hopes you’ll give it a bad review 🤣

I’m happy to say I don’t like any of the blush duos for me, nor do I feel a need when looking at the lip products.
As an answer to Nancy T, I think Mr. Tom Ford lives on the planet where wealthy people are also stupid and will pay anything just to have a smart looking compact. Or the planet where you only buy one of each type of product and use it up.
Maybe I say this because I’m not very impressed by his products, I know there are some that seems to be awesomely good, but I feel that was years ago. I have all of three products from TF, two lipsticks that I like, I got one of them on sale, and an eyeshadow quad that I dislike, I force myself to use it, as it was so expensive.

My Sephora dropped Tom Ford completely, and the shelves stayed decently stocked at a discount for months. Maybe other areas love their Tom Ford? It’s confusing that he can release these new blushes as the most expensive items on the Sephora website when searching cheeks.

Holy moly! Is it me or these prices are higher than Chanel. For me to be willing to part with $90 for a blush, the case would have to be made of at least silver I could melt and turn into earrings. Speaking of which I paid 100ish euros for gold earrings not long ago so there you have it: (my) perspective! Gold earrings vs blush!
Maybe Tom Ford is trying to be like Dolce & Gabbana and become (even more of) a niche thing? The thing is I’m not sure I need “niche” blush… When I put good blush on nobody even notices it, they assume I was born gorgeous! People only comment when I don’t have any! ahah!
