Tom Ford Abandon Lip Shine Color Review, Photos, Swatches
Tom Ford Abandon Lip Shine Color
Tom Ford Abandon Lip Shine Color ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a peachy brown with warm undertones and a natural, slightly glossy finish. MAC Freckletone is very similar–more color coverage. MAC Posh Tone is a bit more beige but very similar in color. MAC Fashion City is lighter and less peach.
The formula wears well for something that is as hydrating as this is, but also for something that has a very high slip amount in its initial application. Within an hour or so, it feels and looks more like a lipstick than a lip balm or gloss, but initially, it starts off with some glossiness. I would say it’s more like a lipstick than a lip balm, though the amount of moisture it imparts and locks in is very nice and more like a lip balm. The color is semi-sheer with noticeable translucency, which is in line with the coverage the formula is supposed to provide. Abandon lasted three and a half hours on me. There was very slight settling of the color into lip lines, but it was only visible in close-up photos and not so much at a normal viewing distance.
For some, this new lip color range is going to be too pricey for sheer color while others will go through tubes of it as it is comfortable to wear, hydrating, and the shade range is very wearable. The more natural pigmentation you have in your lips, the less impact you’re going to see from these.

$48 for sheer color?! I wouldn’t even spend that much on lipstick/something with better coverage, that’s honestly just ridiculous…
I agree with Jessie $48 for a lipstick is beyond crazy!
I agree as well – $48 is way too much for a lip product!
Ahh I am hearing SUCH good things about these! I am *obsessed* with these types of sheer, balmy lipsticks but this version is SO pricey! That being said, I hear they’re great and the coral one is SO so pretty I think I need it!!
What is this price?!? My goodness, it sure looks beautiful on you though. What pretty blushes don your cheeks, Christine?
Sephora x Disney Jasmine Storylook Palette Blush/Bronzer! 🙂
Pretty color. I’d absolutely pick it up if it were $20 or less. The way I see it..unless you’re putting some diamonds and pearls in a lipstick, there is no way to justify charging $48 for it.
You’re looking rather tan these days, Christine. Or maybe it’s just the lip color?
I don’t think I’ve gotten any tanner!
you are so pretty girl…..
Thanks, Jenny!
I got this one and used once or twice, already one forth of the lipstick is gone! 🙁 I think I won’t buy a second one.
I like your makeup with this color, and the lip color looks great on you!
I have a few lipsticks from their range and their normal lip color is super long lasting, hydrating as well as pigmented. I’m curious about this new range, will you be reviewing other colors from the range?
I think I prefer Mac Freckletone.
Absolutely gorgeous on you!
Im not even gonna comment on the price/ sheer color UGH! But I will say that Sephora x Disney Jasmine Storylook Palette Blush/Bronzer is AMAZEBALLS… You look GORG!!!!
Thank you, Wenz! 🙂
I like the color a lot. It looks so creamy and hydrating, but I wouldn’t buy this because of the price. x3
