theBalm Luscious Lani Eyeshadow

theBalm Luscious Lani Eyeshadow ($16.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “pink champagne on ice.”  On me, the pink seems to disappear, but I feel like this is a shade that will be subtly different depending on your skin’s undertones–those with cooler and pinker complexions will see the pink come through, while those with warmer and yellower complexions will get more of a peach-champagne shade.  I found Lusicous Lani to be a glistening gilded peach champagne with a metallic-frost finish.

my thoughts on the formula: theBalm’s eyeshadows are soft, silky smooth, and packed with pigment. They apply evenly, blend out beautifully, and aren’t powdery at all (sometimes a side effect of really soft eyeshadows). I find they are so easy to use, because they apply without fall out and blend with other shadows effortlessly. Worth noting, too, is individual eyeshadows come with 0.12 oz., which is just over double the average eyeshdaow–and at a rather affordable price tag.

I’ve got several close dupes of this colour but, having just started with TheBalm shadows, I have to say I really love them for colour, texture, pigmentation, etc. A drug store near my school carries some of them (but not the palettes, alas) so I will have to check my local Sephora to see if they carry them in-store.

I had a color like this in a Too Faced palette from years ago that I loved to death, and thought I’d never find a good dupe for… I’ll have to check this out to see if it’s what I’ve been looking for! Regardless, it looks like a great color; a nice pink without looking too juvenile.

wouldn’t it be nice if the huge sized products had carried less amount and a better price tag? I really wished that when Mac came up with peacocky shadows, and when I noted some single shades from guerlain on my to-buy list:)

I feel this way about MAC pigments; I like them but don’t use them often and doubt I’ll ever even get 1/4 of the way through the jars I have. Tiny ones – like the LE holiday ones – at a much lower price would be so much more my preference.

I’m the same way. I wish there were size options for some things. When I would only buy & use a few products I appreciated the sizing and pricing. Now that I’m a makeup junkie I can never finish anything and I wish things were smaller and a cheaper because things would be easier!

I was about to ask if this reminded you of Naked Lunch when I remembered to check the dupes section. Thanks for thinking of everything, Christine, you’re a superwoman!

I really like Lani, I’ve had it for a while and it’s great for a swipe over my lids when I am too lazy to do full eye makeup.

I like to use it as a cheek highlighter as well!

I am such a sucker for these types of shades, I already have Gleam, Naked Lunch and Nepal hahaha! I need this one like a hole in the head. It looks beautiful though and am definitely going to check out the whole theBalm range on my next Sephora visit 🙂

I understand that one’s skin tone plays a major factor in how colour appears in swatches because I am NC42-45 and NARS Nepal looks like a very light ROSE. There isn’t any peach apparent at all, neither any frostiness. I couldn’t call it a dupe for any shades mentioned above. I find this all so interesting!!!! Nepal is one of my favourite shades, and with my substantially large collection I still have managed to hit pan 🙂
