The Summer Season: Lancome Groupie Lipstick

Lancome Groupie Color Design Lipstick ($22.00) is a deep copper-bronzed pinky-red. It’s not quite a full-on red, and the copper-bronze shimmer made it feel like summer to me, even though the color was just borderline “summer.” It’s a rich, opaque color with a frost/metallic finish. It could even double as a holiday-esque lipstick with a lil’ red gloss slicked on top. It didn’t have any taste/smell either, which was surprisingly, as I know some other Lancome lipsticks do! The wear time was about average here–three hours before it started to noticeably fade.

Is this the right bronze lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.

To me it looks a lot like one of the lipsticks that just came out with the To the Beach collection. But maybe a bit more red.

I thought the same thing at first too, but I think Thrills from To the Beach is actually several shades lighter and with a more pronounced golden shimmer. From this picture, I definitely prefer Thrills.

Everything looks so great on your gorgeous lips!
But for a pale girl like me it’d look like I’m bleeding sparkles or something lol

Christine

would you say this lipstick is like the new mac lipstick thrills? If you had to pick one of them thrills or this one from lancome which one would you suggest to pick up?

I’d get Thrills — Thrills is definitely lighter, almost more metallic in the finish. It has more of that duochrome look – this is redder and has more glitter/shimmer than just sheen.

I bought this lipstick and I haven’t quite figured out how I want to wear it, it’t kinda of loud for me but my husband liked it when I tested it at the counter. I got it to go with my pop n green quad but it dosnt work for me and I tried it with Chanel Plein Soliel quad and it was copper over load. What eyeshadow are you wearing it with?

I wasn’t sure about the color on Sephora’s website, so I luckily came across your website and read reviews and looked at swatches…thank you so much for being so helpful! I am the proud owner of Groupie!
