The Summer Season: Cle de Peau #101 Extra Silky Lipstick
Cle de Peau #101 Extra Silky Lipstick ($52.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a beautiful shade of coral-orange with soft peach shimmer. It’s a pricey indulgence, but the color is lovely on and the formula is creamy, smooth, and moisturizing. Despite its creaminess, I get about three to four hours of wear, sometimes more, on a shade. It’s a splurge, but it won’t disappoint!
Is this the right coral lipstick for you? Would you wear it?
The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.
Wow…this shade looks perfect on you, very flattering. And somehow it doesn’t look so much like lipstick, it’s more translucent – so pretty.
i love the picture. the light looks perfect,
i was wondering something. are you allowed to open the drawers on the bottom of the displays at sephora or is that like an employee only kind of thing? it would be helpful if you would answer
I believe those are for employees only. I don’t shop at actual Sephoras very much (grosses me out)!
thank you so much(:
Why does it gross you out?
All those testers 🙁 They’re just so dirty.
I’ve opened them before looking for a product that I was going to buy only when an employee wasn’t available to help me and I was in a rush.
I have also just had a quick rummage through those drawers looking for something, usually when there is no one around to help me. Everytime I go into Sephora, it’s really busy and it’s a struggle to find someone to help me locate stuff or check if something is in stock.
But having said that, this lipstick looks wonderful on you Christine. Very flattering and the formula looks beautiful.
any cheapppppppppppppppper dupes for this?
Nothing comes to mind 🙁
This is pretty. How does it compare to Dior Coral Serum?
The colors themselves are pretty different — this is definitely more of a coral-orange than a coral-pink, and the lasting power on Extra Silky Lipsticks blows Dior’s Serum de Rouges out of the water (3-5 hours vs. 1 hour max!). These are also creamier/glossier.
Hi. How do you compare this brand with the Guerlain Rouge G? Thanks
I think the quality is pretty much the same – though this product has a very different texture compared to Rouge G.
Christine, how did you get to wear so long? Mine doesn’t last as long! I like the color of the one I have but I have worn it less than 5 times cause since for me it fades within 30 minutes 🙁
Nothing special – I just prep my lips like I usually do, which is a little bit of lip balm about 20-30 minutes before, then wiped off, apply the lipstick, and that’s about it!
How do you wipe off your lipstick? With a dry napkin, or a wet towel? just wondering so I can use your technique too! 🙂
I use a makeup remover wipe most of the time!
I ADORE coral right now, but this is too orangey for my liking. I’m loving the lighter, pastel corals. So pretty! 🙂
I personally can’t wear corals unless they have a bit of tangerine gloss infused with them, so I love this color. I would buy it, but it’s a tad pricey for me! I have something similar, MAC lipstick in Ravishing is a good dupe.
really? I tried ravishing and it looked pretty pink on me.
This really is a pretty lipstick but def out of my price range.
Pretty!
This is a very pretty lipstick and looks great on you, Christine. But the price is ugly, LOL !
LOL!
girl, you can pull off coral and oranges so well….looks perfect on you…not sure if it would look good on me though
Thanks, Chibu 😛
any cheaper dupes for this?
That’s such a pretty shade of coral. I must get a coral lipstick for the summer now 😀
Lovely color on you, Christine :).
Thanks, Nicole!
Gorgeous shade, but it’s too much for my wallet. lol
Cle de Peau is way toooooo expensive. However, I do indulge in Cle de peau “the cream” It smells like roses and makeup goes over like a dream.
What is the best eyelash growth brand you know, Jan Marini?
I don’t use any eyelash growth products!
