The Spring Season: Benefit Candy Store Lipstick

Benefit Candy Store Lipstick ($18.00) is a semi-sheer medium pink with golden shimmer and a glossy sheen. On my lips, it really deepens and emphasizes the natural rosy-pink of my lip color while adding golden shimmer and a reflective, glossy sheen. Benefit’s Silky Finish Lipsticks have this really moisturizing, glossy feel. It’s almost like lipstick and lipgloss had a baby and called it Silky Finish. It’s very wearable all on its own, partially because it does have such a nice sheen without having to add a gloss (which also makes it convenient to keep in your bag!).

Is this the right pink lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I feel like it looks really similar to MACs new Fresh Salmon (which I really want to get my hands on!) Which one do you prefer?? And which one do you think would last longer?

IMO, this is darker/deeper pink. I find MAC lasts a little longer, but Benefit isn’t drying at all (MAC is a little).

This color is fantastic, but for some reason I have an issue with lipstick that’s not shaped like lipstick. I know that’s weird, but it bothers me. LOL!

I have this lippie, and I must say the staying power is TERRIBLE. I love Benefit’s Full Finish lipsticks, but I’ll never buy another from this line…
