The Scarlet Season: Make Up For Ever #205 Lipstick

Make Up For Ever #205 Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a deep, blue-based red. It’s fairly bright and most definitely noticeable, but it’s deep enough that it doesn’t come off too bright. It has a slightly glossy sheen, and it’s surprisingly hydrating. One of the best parts about Make Up For Ever’s lipsticks is how well they wear and how long they wear for. I find I get no less than four solid hours of amazing wear, but it easily extends into six or more, if I’ve only eaten a light meal or had one or two drinks. #205 is richly pigmented, goes opaque in just one layer, and it hugs lips.

What about you? Would you wear this red?

The Scarlet Season is a series of posts showcasing and featuring my favorite shades of red lips–from glosses to lipsticks that runs through December 2009. You can sure expect to see a lot of red this holiday season!

This is the first time I see a red lipstick and say : YES i want. 200% yes !! It just looks amazing, there is nothing else to it, it’s just really really pretty. The colour, the finish … everything. Okay, once I’m back home, i’m buying it. Thank you Christine, I think you just showed me the perfect shade of red.

For some reason I can’t just register “hydrating” and “staying” in the same lipstick. In my experience, a lipstick that is hydrating stays for an hour or two at MAX. Which is why I always use MATTE red lipstick for my lips. Now that stays for four hours.

I mean, maybe I’m wrong with this lipstick. But I just can’t grasp that concept. I really hope I’m wrong!

This one looks really nice, and I love MUFE quite a bit. Perhaps this shall be one that I try out soon! Although I generally have issues with lip products lasting for a long time on my lips, especially since I have a bad habit of wiping the product off after a while.. I love lip products, but having something on them sometimes feel awkward, like right now haha.

That lipstick is absolutely gorgeous! I am a sucker for red. Funny enough, I’ve never tried the MUFE lipsticks even though their foundations and concealers are my HG products. I will have to try this, though!

I NEED to check this out at Sephora ASAP!!! I’ve never thought about trying MUFE’s lipsticks, but this red needs to be tried on, it’s simply gorgeous!
