The Makeup Show LA - March 28th and 29th, 2015

If you’re a fashion and/or beauty professional and you have the opportunity to attend one of The Makeup Show around the country, you’ll also have the chance to check out some of the newest product from brands. The next show is being held in Los Angeles on March 28th and 29th. I’ve heard great things about the show and how informative and educational it is from my fellow bloggers and friends who have been able to attend.   The show gets bigger and bigger every year; there are many shades making their debut at the LA show: Ardell Lashes, Kat Von D, Mario Badescu, NYX, and Sephora, just to name a few.

  • MAKE UP FOR EVER: A collection of ten unique primers — I just picked up two from Sephora myself to try (Hydrating and Nourishing)
  • PINNACLE COSMETICS: Set of three eye lights
  • STILA: Nude Interlude Color Balm Lipstick
  • RUBY MAKEUP ACADEMY: Ruby Cosmetics’ line-up is debuting
  • ELLIS FAAS: Ellis Faas Icon Gallery and a keynote presentation by Ellis herself
  • MUSTAEV: Debuting at the LA show and showcasing their Bloom Pouch (one of the more interesting beauty tool I’ve seen in awhile)
  • SMASHBOX: Debut of the Smashbox x Donald Robertson Icon Gallery
  • STATIC NAILS: red carpet-influenced pop-on manicures that can be reused and painted
  • SEPHORA: Debuting at the LA show, focus on Colorful Blushes (which somehow escaped notice on my radar, but it seems like they’ve been out for awhile!)
  • SENNA COSMETICS: Launching the Pro Brow Brush and Brow Shaper Powders
  • BEAUTYLISH: Celebrating the launch of Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Have you ever attended The Makeup Show before?

I’d love to attend one of the The Makeup Show’s. But it’s US only and I personally don’t have any of the licenses needed to register.

IMATS Toronto is the only makeup show that run in the Eastern provences of Canada. We get proffetionals from Buffelo to Montral coming to it and I’d 80% actually work in industry.

Sephora’s Colorful Blushes are pretty good, but the shade range isn’t very appealing to me. Glad they’re expanding it. The standout for me is Orange Pop. It was the brightest coral orange I could find that would actually pop on my deep skin in the store! It’s also nice and buildable, though not the most pigmented, which is good for a makeup novice like me! I reaaaaaaaally hope they are adding more vivid colours to the line!

I attend The Makeup Show Los Angeles last year for the first time and I can say that it’s much more enjoyable than IMATS and PHAMEXO. My favorite booth I stopped by was GLAMCOR. They have amazing lighting systems and I got my brilliant mirror at the show. It’s done wonders for my everyday makeup application so if you managed to stanch a ticket to this year’s show, definitely check out GLAMCOR’s booth.

I used to go in the past when the Make Up Show first arrived in NYC. I’ve skipped the past few years. I actually wanted to go this year but it conflicts with another event I am committed to. It’s very overwhelming as there are so many people and booths and to visit. It’s nice to be able to sit in on some seminars and get products before they launch or discover new brands. I think Inglot actually showed up at the show before they launched a store in Time Square
