maybelline the colossal! i know it didn’t work for you, but it’s my HG! i don’t need more length, only volume, and this makes my lashes sooo thick that even my makeup-oblivious boyfriend complimented them. i’ve repurchased it 3-4 times… love love love!

My 2 favorite drugstore mascaras are Cover Girl Lash Blast and L’Oreal HIP mascara! The Cover Girl makes my lashes long and volumized and the HIP makes my lashes look like false lashes!!

My favorite drugstore mascara is Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara in Very Black. It’s actually my favorite mascara, period. I love the brush…it separates my lashes so well, so it never clumps up. I can build the mascara up for really thick lashes that way. The brush also lets me get to all the lashes in the corners of my eyes, with the way the bristles taper down at the end of the wand. I don’t use the waterproof version, but I don’t have problems with it smudging or running. And the price can’t be beat. I really, really love this mascara…I have only repeat-purchased one other mascara, and this one definitely beats that one. Love love love!

COVERGIRL LASH BLAST
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MASCARA IT’S PERFECT The problem with my lashes is that they are a unorganized, they are full and have a good lenght and with a normal wand the probability to clump(even with a primer) is 90%, specially when i’m in a rush. The wand of Lashblast is amazing separates, curles and volumizes the lashes, no flaking and CLUMP FREE I can apply 1 or 2 coats without clumpin LOVE IT I do the mascara in a blink, i have no problem with the big wand whatsoever It’s a simple effective drugstore product Every person has their one personal favorite mascara and mine is Lashblast

Tie between Cover Girl Lash blast WP and Maybelline Define-a-lash WP.

CG because it’s blackest black and gives my lashes a good amount of volume, greatest lasting mascara I’ve ever tryed.
And Maybelline because it separates and lengthen my lashes like crazy!

It’s not actually drugstore, but Jillian Dempsey for Avon’s mascara is AMAZING!!!! There are two ends for top and bottom lashes, and it gives my little stubby lashes great length and volume. I think it’s discontinued, though. *sniff, sniff*

I like Maybelline’s lash stiletto. Their black/brown is a really good natural-looking colour for everyday use. I also love the brush – it really separates and lengthens nicely. It’s a good staple for my makeup bag.

Maybelline Full ‘N Soft! I keep trying more expensive mascaras, and even other drugstore mascaras, and none compare. It leaves lashes un-crunchy, doesn’t clump, and doesn’t flake. The formula stays true even after you’ve had it for a while. It’s awesome, and cheap. I should just learn my lesson and never try another!

L’Oreal’s Voluminous is my all time favoite mascara even against more expensive brands like Dior. Not only is it a great price but it delivers incredible volume and length so I can get the dramatic look I love for lashes quickly and inexpensively!

I love drugstore mascaras in general and find they out-perform a lot of the more expensive ones found in dept stores. Some other favs are Maybelline’s Volum Express and Colossal mascaras and Max Factor’s 2000 Calorie Lashes…oh, and I think I’m the only one on the planet who likes this but I also love L’Oreal’s LashOut! 🙂

This is the one I’ve been using too, but I find that it clumps just a bit too much for me and takes too long to dry. But it’s still up there in the mascaras I’d buy again. I’m hoping that Prestige’s My Biggest Lashes works better than the L’Oreal, a girl on makeupalley told me that they are practically the same, only MBL doesn’t clump nearly as much and dries faster.
This is why I hate mascaras though. Always hard to find that perfect one – either it works great for the first month and then the product starts to dry out and not work the same, or it works terribly the first month because it’s too wet and then works nicely the last few months.

m still longing to find a good one
but i think “l’oreal voluminious” is a good alternative

tried so many mascara … m such a fool
why i did i spent so much on all of them
rather i would have bought only one mac or any other higher brand

Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express mascara, I know some people dislike this mascara because it is not effective on them, but this one works on my lashes. I also like Maybelline Turbo Boost mascara. Rimmel comes in second for me.

I love love love Neutrogena’s Lash Tint. It’s not thick and lumpy like a regular mascara, doesn’t add volume or length. Perfect for a totally natural look. I wear it everyday, except for when I want some extra oomph! For that I love Maybelline’s Full and Soft. It makes my lashes long and thick, but still natural looking.

L Avatar

YES! It’s not dramatic enough for nighttime, but it’s fantastic during the day. I am ridiculously anal about clumping and there is absolutely none — not even the teeny, tiny ones that you can only see if you hold your face a couple inches away from the mirror. It spreads perfectly. The only problem is that it doesn’t wear all that well. If I want my mascara to last over 8 hours, I wear something else.

Emily Avatar

MAYBELLINE FULL AND SOFT! It’s comparable to Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash! It gives beautiful natural lashes with amazing volume after the second coat and great seperation! Doesn’t leave your lashes crunchy or hard!

maxiene Avatar

Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Mascara is great when you want just a lil glam! 😛 As far as an everday mascara, I’m still hooked on non drugstore ones so I hope everyone will share so I can start saving some $!

Prestige’s My Biggest Lashes. I read on makeupalley that it’s a dupe for Diorshow mascara. I haven’t tried that one, but Prestige MBL is GREAT! Fantastically large brush and actually holds a curl better than any I’ve tried (which is saying a lot for my curl-less lashes).

I use Max Factor 2000 Calorie, mostly because it’s pretty much the only Auburn mascara out there. The auburn looks so much less harsh on really fair skin than even brown does.

Hands down, Cover Girl’s Lash Blast Waterproof in Very Black! My super HG drugstore mascara & product of all time. If I could only buy one makeup item at the drugstore, I would choose Lash Blast without a second thought. Gives my lashes gnarly volume, length & separation thanks to that amazing applicator!

Chapis Avatar

Wow! everyone seems to really like Lash Blast and I hated it…. did not work for me, the brush is too big. I need more ‘precision’ with a brush so I love Maybelline’s Great Lash (dark black)It definitely separates my lashes and makes them really long, my second favorite is Lancome Hypnose that thing is magic! Since its more expensive I use mostly on weekends.

For me, personally, it has to be Maybelline Define-A-Lash Lengthening mascara (the one in the green packaging). I know a lot of people that hate this but it really works for me. I have quite long, straight, black lashes and find that this not only separates them and gives them definition, but it also lifts them slightly to look as if they have been curled. So, overall I’m quite happy with this product. 🙂

Covergirl Lash Blast Luxe in black royale 🙂 It is the same as the original, but it has a little tint of blue sparkles in the sunlight.

Amy Avatar

Maybelline Full ‘N’ Soft is my go-to drugstore mascara. Until I tried Tarte Lights Camera Lashes I preferred it to all the other expensive mascaras I tried.

Christy Avatar

I love Maybelline Great Lash. I just need something lightweight and separating with a bit of volumizing. Any formula that’s heavy will weight my lashes down and make them straight.

Melissa Avatar

First off, I just want to say, since Ive seen this name so much, that Covergirl Lashblast sucks! It just does nothing for my lashes, maybe because theyre already naturally long, that it doesnt help, but I absolutely hate it.. same with Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.

Now, the best drugstore mascara is *drum roll* Max Factor Volume Coutue. Its amazing, its love. It adds volume and definition to my lashes for that extra pow. I dont think Ive ever found a better mascara, even from department store brand. (:

Frankie Avatar

i know people usually have a lot of trouble with Loreal Double Extend but it works great for me! It makes my lashes look dramatic (but not too much). It never flakes and the tubes come off easily every time. Def a staple!!! The only thing I’d replace it with is fakes. =)

Lo Avatar

Mabelline Define-A-Lash is my HG mascara, I’ve tried so many different high end and drugstore mascaras, but I recently tried this and am so impressed with it.
It coats my lashes incredibly well, it lengtens and separates like a dream, its really pigmented, and what I really love about it is that it is so buildable, I’ve not really had a mascara that I’ve felt like I could layer without clumps before, but I can get up to 3 layers of this!

Mommy2Maya Avatar

I love, love Rimmel’s Sexy Curves and Glam Eye’s. They both curl my stubborn lashes, never flake, or run. I wait until they are BOGO free and then stock up :).

Liz Avatar

Maybelline Lash Stiletto has been my go-to mascara for several months now, and it hasn’t let me down yet. It gives me thick, long, glossy lashes that don’t clump, flake, or smear for my 10.5 hour work day. I would say it’s comparable to Lancome Defencils, possibly better (!).

celeste Avatar

my absolute favorite is maybelline the colossal express limited edition in absolute black it makes my lashes absolutely perfect and i love it sooo much!!!!! but iv also always wanted to try maybelline sky high curves so if anyone has tried it plz reply

emily Avatar

Even though everyone hates it, I love Maybelline Lash Stiletto
Maybe it’s because i have plenty thick lashes and want lengthening in a mascara.

Martina Avatar

I love love love Great Lash by Maybelline. Its the one with the pink bottom and green lid. I’ve been using it for about 5 years now and it works SO well. They also last about a year or more before I need to throw them away even though those high end ones seem to dry out in 6 months.

I decided to venture out and buy something new after my last GL dried out so I bought Smoky Lash by Makeup For Ever from Sephore and I HATED IT. It made my eyelashes all clump together and the brush didn’t help seperate them…it also dried out in about 3 months!! So not worth 28$
Maybe I will try something new after my GL dries out but I’m not sure what i’d get that nots too expensive or just a waste of money…

Tish Avatar

Lashblast definately and I’ve tried them all. Just tried the new one in the purple tube. Yes stays on longer but not as good as the orange tube.
