Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection for Summer 2012

Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection for Summer 2012

Fashion and beauty have always gone hand in hand. Now, those hands have the nail polish to match. Introducing the Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection, the brand’s first collaboration with a fashion designer in the nail category. Already frequent collaborators at New York Fashion Week, founder and creative director Francois Nars has partnered with Thakoon Panichgul to develop a limited edition, six-shade nail collection.

In conceptualizing the shade range, Thakoon was inspired by the vibrant colors found in Indian spice markets. The highly saturated, high-shine shades come in an opaque finish, perfect for spring. Formula is long-wearing, chip-resistant and toluene-, formaldehyde- and DBP-free.  Since his first collection in 2004, the Thailand-born, Nebraska-raised designer’s clothes have graced chic, modern women around the globe, including Jessica Alba, Marion Cotillard, Rachel Bilson, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Oh no, Kutki and Koliary. No sky blues, please, I am on a strict no-buy! I literally have red marks on my wrist right now for slapping myself today every time I picked up a blue nail polish.

I love Lal Mirchi! It means red chilli, or spicy red! shame its only availble in one location. But i might get the rest just because they all look fab!

That array of colors is SO FLIPPIN PRETTY! Your site does not help with my no-buy, LOL. Are the NARS polishes usually a good formula? I’ve never tested their formula before.

*Faints* I want all of these but especially the Ratin Jot!! Wow, what a perfect pink-purple. The Koliary Blue looks like a non-shimmery version of Blue Lagoon. So pretty. Damn you, NARS, I can’t quit you. I already have about 7 or 8 Nars nail varnishes but won’t be able resist many of these. *sigh*

Hopefully, I can resist this because I already bought the complete 2008 SS2008 OPI collection which was also inspired by India.

They’re gorgeous and colorful, but they’re not very unique. I’ve seen similar colors in less expensive high quality brands like Essie and China Glaze. Based in that, I’ll have to leave it.

Whoa! When I saw this I literally said out loud, “OH MY GOSH.” Just so breathtaking. These are my absolute favorite colors right now! I want them all!

Love love love all the colors! PLEASE swatch em all, as well as the Summer 2012 collection..I can’t wait to get that matte red lipcolor!

Do you know if they’re available in store? I’m looking for a dupe of OPI’s What’s With the Catittude and Kutki looks like a close replacement.
