Tarte Sparkler & Stunner Amazonian Clay Highlighters Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Sparkler
Tarte Sparkler Highlighter ($28.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a muted, medium, golden bronze with warm undertones and a glittery, moderately metallic finish. There also seemed to be a rosy tint to it which seemed to become more pronounced as I blended and diffused to the product out (this is a shade that I’d have expected to look quite warm on me, but it more subdued).
The formula is supposed to have 12-hour wear that has a “buildable glow.” I’ve liked a lot of the highlighters Tarte has been releasing recently, but the texture of this one was chunkier and rougher than others; it was not necessarily gritty, but it was much more of a glitter-to-metallic finish, which resulted in less even distribution of product onto the brush and on the face. The glittery bits tended to separate from the more metallic base, and it seemed to have less color to its base as I blended out the product, even though it was rather pigmented! When I used a denser buffer brush at the end, it helped a lot to give it a smoother sheen that did not emphasize my pores or skin’s natural texture. The highlighter lasted for eight and a half hours before starting to separate on me.

Stunner
Tarte Stunner Highlighter ($28.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a light, peachy-pink with a cooler pink undertone and a warmer, golden shimmer-sheen finish. It had good color payoff that was easily built up to opaque coverage with just a little more layered on top of the initial layer. The consistency was soft, almost cream-like, dense, and smooth. I had no trouble applying and blending out the highlighter on my skin, and despite the highly reflective sheen, it only just barely emphasized my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight hours on me.
While Tarte did not seem to notate that the formula used in the Pro Glow palette was the same 12-Hour Amazonian Clay Highlighter formula, it appears that is the case, as this shade seemed the same in color and texture to the one in the Pro Glow palette!

They look lovely on your skin.
Thank you!
Both are very pretty!
They are!
Stunner is just that!
It is!
Sparkler has a nice warmth to it. It’s a shame about that chunkier texture, though.
I wish it was smoother!
These both look surprisingly cool friendly, esp the first? Who’da thunk?
Ooh, they would be pretty on cooler skin tones!
I really like Stunner! The soft pink and gold is so pretty, and it swatches beautifully. This one is going on my wish list. 🙂
I like it a lot, too!
I love the Exposed highlight. Stunner looks soo beautiful!
Stunner is nice!
Stunner really is a stunner! I think I want it 🙂
Haha!
Pretty shade, but it looks a little too gritty to me.
Darn!
Stunner lives up to its name! Luckily I have Estee Edit 1st Light, so no need for me to get it, but for any who don’t it looks like a nice dupe.
Ooh I really like Stunner, it’s such a pretty peachy pink!
i always swatch some tarte highlighters at sephora and not decide to get them because of the stiff texture. when you compare it to Becca , they are not as creamy 🙁
Stunner looks special, prettier than all the dupes shown.
It has a great sheen to it!
I really like Stunner!
It’s a pretty one!
Which would be more suited towards fair neutral skin – Tarte’s Exposed or Stunner highlighter?
I’m not sure how light fair is to you, but Exposed it the lighter/slightly more subdued option.
I’m about NW15, but with neutral rather than cool undertones. Would you still recommend Exposed or do you think that would be too dark? It’s so hard to tell based on swatches on people with darker skin than mine (aka pretty much everyone lol). Thanks!
I don’t think it would be too dark! As a FYI, I am about NC20-25 🙂 My arm is closer to NC20.
