If it’s any comfort about those L’Oreal lipsticks in Europe that were supposedly a limited edition Beauty & the Beast set, turns out they were just regular L’Oreal shades with paper wrappers. They didn’t even cover up the old shade numbers and names on the bottom of the tubes!

So I would say that entitles you to spoil yourself with these new Tarte items. 😉

Lacey Avatar

That’s awful for those who purchased them!

And yes, Thank you for confirming! 😉 I need these brushes and the glitter liner, not sure about the shadows or highlighter. Need swatches since sometimes Tarte palettes are hit and miss.

Primpcess Avatar

I got those exact 2 items (brushes and liner) for the exact same reasons….and it does kinda make me feel better that they just regular L’Oréal with wrappers over them ? I was initially quite heart broken about not being able to get the L’Oréal stuff.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks like children’s play makeup (especially the brushes). Still, there are a few colours in the e/s palette that already have me itching (Marvel – oh my goodness – Trance and Crystal…..oh, and Fairy and…well, I guess it would be easier to list the ones I’m not wild about but I am hoping I have some DUPES for the shades I really love). Some of these shadows put me in mind of the Tarte for Aqualilies from years back. That was a great palette and it would have been perfect for travel but for the LE issue.

Well that eye shadow palette is a divergence for Tarte and one I totally support. I am looking forward to this palette and haven’t bought any Tarte eye shadows for awhile since I was tired of the same old colors all the time. Hope these are the same formula as the previous rainforest formula. Can’t wait to see your reviews, Christine.

This is the first seasonal collection I’ve been excited about in six months. I really hope the shadows are like the Rainforest of the Sea palettes. I haven’t tried the Metallic singles yet but this may be a reason to!

Agona Avatar

I do too; I’ve never tried glitter liquid liner before and have always wanted to. Maybe I layer it on top of my black liner or maybe place it above it for a double line effect? I’m going to have to Google it; I’m scared I won’t know what to do with it!!

OH YESSSSS!!!! Praise the makeup gods!! They came out with more metallic shadows. If they are as good as the original ones, I will need almost all of them!!! And I wonder if that rainbow shadow palette is good too. Thank goodness Tarte is shaking it up, so used to seeing 50 shades of neutrals from them, this is a great change!

jonirae Avatar

if these individual shadows are the same formula as the online-only “LE” ones they released awhile ago, Ill be psyched— but more psyched if they actually have them in stores, because no kidding, every single time I ordered one, (from sephora) it arrived shattered. sooo frustrating!!

wonder also if the palette is a similar formula, or like the rainforest of the sea palettes, which I think is already kinda similar to the metallics to begin with?

Agona Avatar

I asked Christine that once on the metallic and she said no; I haven’t picked them up myself to compare but I can tell I’d like the metallic formula more than their Amazonian clay formula. The only tarte shadows I like and own are the Rainforest palettes (but again, I haven’t tried the metallic yet because I don’t gravitate towards singles).

JC Avatar

Oh man, I thought this would be super childish and uninteresting, but I have to say… I am mega-tempted by that sparkly eyeshadow palette. >.< The packaging is pretty tasteful too. Even the eyeshadow singles look really interesting, and seem to be at a pretty decent price point! Those gorgeous jewel tones….

I feel like these brands are trying to get girls who are younger with every new launch. It is starting to make me feel really old when the brands I used to love are no longer apealing to me. But I guess on the upside im trying alot of new brands!

Deborah Avatar

I really like the brushes — but I only use the ‘artis’ brushes – I am in love with them (and I use knock offs). Maybe I will cave and buy an Artis and see the difference. I don’t know how there can be? These are fun though!

This collection is beautiful. This may become my first ever purchase(s) from Tarte, ever! I’ve never tried any of their products, I have gotten sample mascaras, but that’s about it. This collection is just too cute, speaks to me, right up my alley! The names, colours…. gah! take my money!

Anne Avatar

I knew I had to have the eyeshadow palette. Sephora had it as an in-app special today and although I could have ordered it yesterday on Tarte’s site, I’m Rouge at Sephora so that was a no-brainer. Add on a deluxe sample and 2 day shipping, can’t wait for its arrival! I’m still on the fence on the highlighter and the metallic eyeshadows although I need to fill up my magnetic case. They are on the same fence as the Natasha Denona Star palette…

The palette is the first one from Tarte that’s rocked my boat, Rainforest #1 and #2 didn’t do it for me as they were too warm and too boring for me but I love this! The Tarteist Metallic eyeshadows are really interesting, will look forward to swatches of these!

Angelica Avatar

Did this collection already sell out and it’s not being sold in a package anymore? I only see some of the individual items in stores, but I want the whole package D:
