I picked up the blush palette, I couldn’t resist (I’ve been collecting their blush palettes, haha). I’m pretty meh about everything else, but I’ll admit the eyeshadow palette would make great gift!

i got the blush palette and am still contemplating getting the ‘light of the party’ set. im curious though how many of those shadows are similar to ones i already have in my collection.

Are you planning on getting any of these for swatch/dupe/reviewing?!

I really love that Tarte always make their holiday sets super pretty! The eyeshadows at a glance doesn’t look that much different from most neutrals, but one can’t have enough neutrals, right? 😉

Kimberly Avatar

NGL I’m a little tempted by the makeup case… The deluxe sample size of that mascara is my HG, the blush/highlighter/bronzer look right for my skintone and I like how they have a variety of light eyeshadows and finishes. I was gonna get the Naked 2/3 palette but will wait for your review first before I make my decision.

The blush kit looks pretty, but I already have one from Tarte, and don’t need anymore -I’ve been using several times a week and still haven’t made a dent in them. The shadow palette looks like more of the same neutrals, too many light shades to interest me

Seriously! My daughter has to wear a uniform, so that was a hefty haul alone… Plus, when some brands put out press releases giving dates further down the road…

That large palette (Light of the Party?) looks really good and like excellent value. It might be just what I need for our trip to India in February, though I really need to stop buying so much makeup, given what the trip and all the wedding frippery is costing us!!

Man, these past few weeks with a gazillion holiday releases is cray-cray overwhelming! It’s getting so that I cannot even keep up with the onslaught anymore! And if any of us feel swamped, myself included, imagine how Christine must be feeling! Or shall I say, reeling?
It is ONLY Sept. 15th ?

Toni Avatar

Wow, Life of the Party is quite a kit! It looks nice but I think I want to try a holiday set from a different brand this year since I got Tarte last year. Plus, many of the shadows in Tarte’s eyeshadow palette from last year wear more muted on my lids than I prefer.

Kimberly Avatar

I agree! They just don’t show up on me either, and they all pull way too cool on me. Bruised eyes just aren’t a good look! I really want to love it, but I just don’t think I can! The blushes are too pink and coral for my taste as well, although the sets are undeniably gorgeous and a great value!

Also, once you have one tarte palette, it’s almost useless to buy another. I have several of the more neutral-leaning palettes, and once applied (even swatched) on my fair/light-neutral skintone, I can’t see the difference.

Okay so I see that the two palettes are Sephora exclusives. Does that mean Ulta won’t be getting one then? If that’s the case then I’m going to be really frustrated. I really don’t want to give Sephora any more of my money and I have hundreds of dollars in credit with Ulta.

Here’s hoping some of these brands start making stuff available at Ulta as well…

Oh man, I used to buy their LipSurgence sets every holiday season, until a couple years ago when I sort of stopped wearing anything besides DS lip balm. (I was going through a bad low self-esteem phase, yknow how it is.) I’m looking forward to any reviews/swatches of that LS set, that’s for sure! I’ve never tried their Butter lipsticks but they look intriguing, too….hmm.

dotb Avatar

I do love their buttery lipsticks!
Have not tried the rest because it sounds like it is for younger skin…clay masks used to be used to soak up oil years ago, so I thought it might dry me out too much or be too heavy. They do have some interesting packaging. Also, it seems like the colors are for those who prefer a neutral palette. I like a pop of color on the eyes, especially since I wear glasses.
