I’d really consider a gift card to LuckyScent or Scent Split and encourage them to try samples as they carry a ton of brands that you don’t typically find at department stores/in person. Otherwise, a set of rollerballs or samples (like Sephora has a set every holiday season).

Gift card to the brand or retailer that they seemed to like the most! Alternatively, since gift card is kind of cheating, I’d say something that would help organize their makeup, brush holder, etc.
