What is your favorite way to learn new makeup techniques?

What is your favorite way to learn new makeup techniques?

It’s usually when I’ve watched someone on YouTube, which are often makeup artists when I do watch, try something I haven’t seen before or in a slightly tweaked way.

For skincare, where you skimp? Where you splurge?

For skincare, where you skimp? Where you splurge?

In general, anything that doesn’t stay on the skin for long doesn’t need to be expensive to do its job–cleansers and the like! I also tend to look for good, budget-friendly options for makeup wipes and body sunscreen. I tend to splurge on moisturizers, serums, and lip balm.

For makeup, where you skimp? Where you splurge?

I don’t think I actually do skimp, ha, ha, based on the volume I buy in. If I take off my blogger hat, then I would say I’d be more likely to skimp on nail lacquer, liquid eyeliner, maybe mascara. I find myself more into buying products that are really good, so if it was cheaper, awesome, but...

What brand's image really speaks to you?

What brand's image really speaks to you?

I don’t know if any one brand really speaks to me as an individual, but I have always dug the Burberry check print/pattern, so I loved when they came out with gunmetal packaging that feels like metal (not plastic).

I have no idea what I wore for graduation (any of them), LOL! I was, however, blogging when I got married, so I have a post on everything I wore here.

How do you adapt or reject trends based on your personal style?

I like contouring, but I personally like mine subtle, so even though the trend might be to highlight and contour on a daily basis and might seem more extreme, I stay with subtle but might contour more often (because it’s more on my mind than normal)! I’d say in general if it’s a trend that I...

What was the first makeup launch that you were really excited for?

What was the first makeup launch that you were really excited for?

I think it was MAC’s Barbie Loves MAC. At least, that is one of the few times I can distinctly remember waiting in line for the store to open (to get the doll), which is not something I do very often, haha!

What's been your go-to primer and foundation combination?

What's been your go-to primer and foundation combination?

I don’t usually wear primer (it’s unnecessary for my needs), but if I do, I go for Too Faced Hangover RX with Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation. I have normal-to-dry skin and don’t like to touch-up. Usually if I wear primer, I’ll also use a setting powder and spray (currently, Laura...

Do you have a preferred color of your makeup brush bristles?

Do you have a preferred color of your makeup brush bristles?

I like black, only because it hides use better, so it doesn’t look as dirty. They’re also more forgiving if you clean and can’t get every last bit of makeup out of it, too.

Do you have separate items you only take when traveling or do you pick from your stash?

I tend to repeat the items I take with me traveling (for me, it’s usually the rare time when I am not testing as extensively, so I pick my favorites), but they are products that are part of my regular stash, not just for travel.
