What lip products do you find unnecessary in your routine?

What lip products do you find unnecessary in your routine?

Lip primer as I test products on their own, and subsequently, lip liner is not something I tend to reach for either, for similar reasons. I like lip scrubs but find I do enough swatching that I don’t really need a standalone lip scrub (but I still use them as I enjoy them!).

False lashes, not because I don’t like them but because I suck at applying them. I don’t use eyeshadow primer that frequently, but if I was a normal consumer, I would use it daily.

What base products do you find unnecessary in your routine?

Since I do a lot of testing of products as-is, I rarely use things like primer or setting spray. I tend to forget under eye concealer and concealers in general, even though I try to remember to use them!

What's your favorite type of foundation finish?

What's your favorite type of foundation finish?

I like semi-matte to natural–not too dewy but not totally matte–as I tend to use setting and finishing powder, so that helps to take down some natural shine to a lot of liquid foundations. I find anything very matte tends to look less flattering on my skin!

Anything that creases significantly, becomes patchy or uneven,...

How important is your lip color's longevity?

Again, pretending I’m a more “normal” person, I think something that lasted 3-5 hours without worry, was easy to touch-up, and was comfortable to wear would work well for me. I wouldn’t mind reapplying after lunch or dinner but wouldn’t want to have to touch-up my lip color every couple...

How important is your eyeshadow's longevity?

Pretending that I’m a normal consumer, I’d look for a minimum of eight hours of solid wear but would want closer to 10-12 hour wear without creasing. A little fading or minimal fallout doesn’t bother me, but I don’t like to see creasing or patchiness!

How important is it that a lip color be moisturizing for you?

How important is it that a lip color be moisturizing for you?

If I’m going to be wearing it multiple times a week, I want it to be a little hydrating but don’t have ultra dry lips so getting most of my added hydration in the morning/evening (with lip balm) is sufficient for me. I’d only sacrifice hydration and opt for something deliberately drying if I...

What about your skincare routine makes you the happiest?

There’s a certain freeing feeling washing away that day’s makeup (especially since I tend to wear quite a bit every day) and watching it all go down the drain!
