What are your tips & tricks for blending out eyeshadow?

What are your tips & tricks for blending out eyeshadow?

Whenever I’m working with more than a few colors (which is basically always, let’s be real!), I’ve found that the three biggest takeaways are: cleaner brushes (sometimes just a clean brush solely to diffuse colors together is absolutely necessary), building up more slowly for deeper shades (or...

What are your tips & tricks for applying eyeliner evenly?

I think a lot of it is in finding the type of formula that works for your needs and application skills/techniques. If you’re someone who has a very sure hand, a more fluid, one-stroke kind of product might be most suitable, but someone who has shakier hands, something that functions well for...

What are your tips & tricks for long-wearing lip color?

What are your tips & tricks for long-wearing lip color?

It’s in the prep and set-up, for sure! One of the easiest ways to get longer-lasting color is to apply a lip liner underneath the lipstick or gloss, which acts as both a primer as well as the last line of defense in actual color. A lip primer can be useful, too, but I do find that lip liner gives...

What are your tips & tricks for getting a flawless base?

What are your tips & tricks for getting a flawless base?

I find exfoliating regularly (two times a week or so) helps a lot with getting an even application of product and minimizes product getting caught on flaky skin. A cleaner brush or sponge is better at distributing color–I’ve definitely noticed if I re-use a brush, the application is often a...

Are there any makeup products you wear more often during spring?

Are there any makeup products you wear more often during spring?

I don’t think so! I’m usually testing new products, so I definitely find that certain trends (e.g. dewy skin, glossier lips) tend to be more prevalent during springtime so I’ll end up wearing more of those types of products.

How do you rotate through your collection?

How do you rotate through your collection?

I don’t do a lot of rotation, but I try to go through my “go-tos” every six months or so and move anything out that I can’t recall thinking about at all–this is often propelled by wanting to put something new in and not having room! Otherwise, the way I use makeup doesn’t really lend...

How do you store and organize your skincare?

How do you store and organize your skincare?

I have larger plastic bins so I organize by function (moisturizer vs. treatment vs. cleanser) in the “archive” area, and for products that I’m expecting to use sooner, I have them in a repurposed shoe holder organized by function in my bedroom closet.
