What product has proven to be the biggest multitasker in your collection?

Eyeshadow shader style brushes–they’re small, slightly stubby, densely packed and a little rounded at the edge. I’ve worked my way through an assortment of them over the years, but I still find that I can do all of my eye makeup with that one tool if I need to!

What draws you in first: the packaging or the color story?

The color story for sure! I can feel better or worse based on packaging, but I really don’t care that much about it as long as it’s functional!

Do you prefer products with names or numbers?

Do you prefer products with names or numbers?

I prefer names as they are easier to remember, but numbers tend to be a way for brands to stay out of trouble, LOL. For skin-toned products, like foundation, I like numbers and letters to signify depth and undertone over names, though.

Do you keep track of what products you've used in looks?

Do you keep track of what products you've used in looks?

I really try to! There are some days that I test and my eyes are being sensitive–too red or just feeling sensitive to light–where I won’t take photos of what I’m testing, but I do keep track most of the time since I need to keep track of wear times and the like!

Has a pet or child ever destroyed your makeup?

I don’t think Mellan has ever destroyed makeup! I’m not recalling it, though he has become mythical and legendary with nary a bad memory in this household 😉

What's your current lip care routine?

I mostly use Sara Happ’s The Lip Slip at night. I’m using ILIA and Biossance lip balms in the morning prior to applying whatever lip products I expect to test that day (I wipe off the balm before testing, but just in that time before).

Are you committed to your skincare products or always trying new ones?

There are a few I’m pretty committed to where I’ve repurchased multiple times over the course of years, like Biologique Recherge PIGM 400, Shiseido Eye + Lip Makeup Remover, Farmacy Green Clean to name a few. I’ll try other makeup removers, but they’re not something I feel requires a...

Are you committed to your hair care products or always trying new ones?

I don’t find my hair is very fussy, so I tend to go from product to product without committing to any. I might repurchase, but I don’t know that there’s anything I’ve used for years and years!

How do you rotate through fragrances?

How do you rotate through fragrances?

Since we redid our closet, we have shelves in a corner space that was previously unused, and I’m using it to showcase some photos and fragrances. It’s a lot easier to remember to put something on in the morning when I’m getting dressed! I plan on rotating in and out different scents every...
