Brow Pencils

I find they aren’t my first choice for filling in my brows. I prefer using a gel product and an angled brush – faster and a little more intense for me, which I like. Back in the day, I used MAC Stud for a long time, though, so at one point I liked ’em, haha!

Crease Brushes

Love! They are so essential to my routine. I love slightly rounded–but not too rounded–smallt o medium-sized crease brushes. They work well for depositing color and blending it out while retaining some precision! When they get too large, fluffy, or rounded, I find they’re harder to control.

Fan Brushes

I think they’re particularly good for someone who has trouble being light-handed or likes a sheerer, less-pigmented effect when working with most powder-based products. Sometimes, they can be overly large or give too diffused of an application.

Shimmery Eyeshadows

They’re my passion. I totally dig mattes in an eyeshadow look, but ugh, a good shimmer? Swoon-worthy. I’ll get excited over smooth, satiny shimmer or intense, metallic shimmer. Give me all of it!! I do find that sometimes thicker metallics can crease, though, which is obviously annoying!

Shimmery Blushes

My comfort zone! I love a highlighting blush–two steps in one, easier to blend, and often quite pigmented (without being too intense to work with!).

Shimmery Eyeliners

LOVE! I am not super keen when they use larger particle-sized sparkle (or glitter), as that can be irritating and harder to apply evenly as the particles almost move the pigmentation/base product. I love more pearl-like and metallic eyeliners, though–especially for pops of color.

Matte Eyeliners

I love them! I find I reach for both, though I tend to prefer matte eyeliner for when I want medium-dark to deep colors, whether black or brown or color. Matte eyeliners tend to go on more smoothly and can be more pigmented on average.

Matte Blushes

I love them in theory, but I tend to prefer blushes that are satin or more shimmery as I find they are more forgiving and easier to apply–they’re more blendable and are less prone to reacting to any natural moisture on my skin!

Powder Highlighters

I love them all! Subtle or glowing from space, I dig. Most highlighter formulas are very blendable and easy enough to work with, so I don’t find I have to worry about application and can just enough the effect. The only downside is when they emphasize skin texture, because it becomes a game of trade-offs for that otherworldly glow!
