Sydney Grace Summer 2020 Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Desert Sun
Sydney Grace Desert Sun Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with strong, warm orange undertones and fine flecks of pink and gold sparkle over a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that diffused well along the edges.
The consistency dense, smooth, and lightly creamy without being too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.
Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Paris
Sydney Grace Paris Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light, rosy brown with moderate, warm undertones and an intense, metallic finish that reflected a lot of light and appeared lighter when applied than in the pan.
The texture felt soft, more loosely-pressed, but rich in pigment and “melted” when applied to bare skin for a very smooth, seamless effect. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Purple Sky
Sydney Grace Purple Sky Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep gray with cooler, bluish undertones and flecks of teal and violet sparkle over a metallic finish. The product had a slightly more loosely-pressed consistently, though not to the point of being messy or difficult to work with, so it picked up well with a dry brush and had good adhesion to bare skin.
It had opaque color payoff that applied evenly and blended out well along the edges. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

The Ballet
Sydney Grace The Ballet Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep pink with strong, warm undertones and pink and gold shimmer that gave it a bright, metallic finish. The consistency was smooth, creamier, and had more slip, so it applied best by patting and pressing into place rather than sweeping.
It would also work well with fingertips or a wet brush. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

One day I’ll get my matte baby pink! These are lovely, if not much of a departure from their existing catalog (at first glance.) I particularly like Purple Sky even though I don’t wear dark shades often. SG always gets me to like shades I ordinarily wouldn’t look twice at!
Man, these are something else! Love ’em all. The ones I want are Paris, The Ballet and Purple Sky. Hopefully, they will still be available come August!
Purple Sky is calling my name!!
Love Purple Sky! :o) Can’t wait until they add it to the site.
Hi temptalia. I can’t seem to find these shadows on their website. When are they going to be available? Thanks for the amazing review
I think it is the 12th, when their sale kicks off, but I don’t recall a specific date otherwise!
So I wanted to order Purple Sky but it’s not sold on Sydney Grace website. I’m confused…
It’s releasing this coming week! 🙂
These are all beautiful eyeshadows, but my favourite is Paris – I don’t have that shade. I was drawn to Desert Sun – but I have quite a few dupes for it. Paris is the kind of shade that would work well with greens and blues. Love it.
Purple Sky caught my eye and sure enough, I have Black Ice dupe also by SG. It is a better fit for me with less shimmer. Still, I love it. I think my SG haul is going to be a lot easier on my pocket book than I originally thought, but this is a good thing.
Ballet looks beautiful
Purple Sky! Hmmm!
