Skintone: fair with pink undertones
Product I returned: loreal butterfly mascara without having had opened it because i sorta fell in love with physicians formula cat eye one… And I like to use one product up before buying it again.
Product i resisted: naked 2.
Product I gave in to: tarte Amazonian clay eyeliner. Natural ingredients and matte finish. Love it.
Skin tone: porcelain
Last returned: Kat von D new formula in the purple. Migrated horribly on me, even over Nars.
Last resisted: UD spectrum, Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca remix
Last give in: Sephora My boyfriend’s jeans eyeliner.
I tried resisting the Kat Von D palette because I never thought I would use those all those crazy colors.
I ended up buying it, and LOVING IT. The shades in the middle make all the colors so wearable. Also, if you only use one of two of the vibrant colors, and some neutrals, you can wear any color. I have used just that palette for my eye make up for a week straight, and I work in a financial institution.
So I praise you for being able to say no. I am too weak for that. haha.
Last product returned – hourglass holiday palette
Last product resisted – becca pearl liquid shimmering perfector
Last product gave in to – Anastasia brow powder due – oh so natural looking
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light with pink undertones
Last product you returned? Origins-A Perfect World Cleanser and GlamGlow-ThirstyCleanse (both these cleansers made my skin breakout so badly)
Last product you resisted? New Colourpop stuff (exchange rate sucks) and Kat Von D Holiday Palette
Last product you gave in to? New Dior Addict lipsticks and Nars Chelsea Girls lipgloss
Your skin tone/coloring: Dark brown eyes/mint & black hair/light-medium warm-to-neutral skin
Last product you returned: Had I bought this instead of receiving a bunch of deluxe samples of it, I would have returned the EL Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. It’s supposed to be gentle but it didn’t remove any of my eyeshadow/eyeliner and actually made my eyes burn.
Last product you resisted: MAC Whirl/Velvet Teddy. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Liar.
Last product you gave in to: KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw. Had to get this online and I’m happy to say that it’s 3 days away from reaching me after a month of waiting! Also finally gave in to the KVD Monarch palette and bought it online after like 3 months of thinking about it.
I LOVE Whirl pencil and Velvet Teddy Lipstick. Those have been my favorites for over 10 years. I prefer Spice pencil with Velvet Teddy so that is also a great combination.
I need to give in and finally purchase these, they are so pretty for fall and winter.
you won’t regret the Monarch palette! it’s so creamy and pigmented but blends soooo well. very unique colors in there too. You can go fairly neutral, or all out black smokey eye with pops of color.
Your skin tone/coloring: NW-25
Last product you returned? Dior color kingdom eye shadow palette and the blush..awful just awful
Last product you resisted? The Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con 20….still thinking about it.
Last product you gave in to? Laura Mercier Sleek & Chic eye colour palette, it should arrive today.
Elkay, I’m interested on your initial thoughts on the sleek and chic palette? I love her Eye Artist Palette. This new one is haunting me. 🙂
Your skin tone/coloring: medium will golden undertones
Last product you returned? Laura Mercier Silk Creme Photo Finish foundation
Last product you resisted? LORAC PRO2 palette
Last product you gave in to? Anastasia BH So Hollywood illuminator
Skin tone: very fair (neutral/leaning warm)
Last returned: I don’t remember! I haven’t returned anything in a long time.
Last resisted: The Tarte Lipsurgence set, the Bite Discovery set, and the Too Faced lip/cheek set. Obviously, holiday lip sets are testing my willpower. 😉
Last give in: Bite Remix kit, and (in about twenty seconds) the Sephora Favorite Gimme More Lip set. Not 100% sold on all the colors, but it’s a fun assortment!
I am fair & neutral most of the year; golden fair/light during summer.
I rarely return products. I almost always test it out first, or give it away. Can’t think of anything.
I resisted the Kat Von D La Vida Loca Palette.
I instead bought the Sugarpill Edward Scissorhands palette; it’s so damn pretty.
Your skin tone/coloring: light to medium warm
Last product you returned? none, we can’t return products here
Last product you resisted? a NARS palette at Sephora
Last product you gave in to? Benefit Porefessional primer
Your skin tone/coloring: Fairest neutral. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Alabaster, Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation in 001, MUFE Mat Velvet + Foundation in #15 etc.
Last product you returned? An Estée Lauder cream eyeshadow since I’d actually asked the assistant for a gel liner and she’d given me the wrong thing. I didn’t realise until I got home so I took it back the next day.
Last product you resisted? Another Estée Lauder product- a Pure Color Envy lipstick in Infamous. I’m still trying to forget about it but I’ve been unsuccessful so far and very nearly bought it today. I know I don’t need it…but I so want it! It’s just such a gorgeous brightened pink colour, totally unsuitable for Autumn but I don’t care. 🙁
Last product you gave in to? A ColourPop Ultra Matte lipstick in Donut. I bought Ouija a few days ago and hoped that that would satisfy my craving but obviously not because the next day I went and ordered Donut as well. So excited to try them!
I’m not an EL fan, but I have Pure Envy in fragile ego. It’s awesome.
Coloring: fair/cool (nw10-13)
Last product returned: I RARELY return anything…I think it was a couple of MUFE glosses that the description said were pigmented, but were barely tinted
Last product resisted: Naked Smoky. I may still cave, but I’ve managed to dupe most of the colors I love the most
Last product I gave in to: I give in a lot to drugstore…last high end was the Tarte Energy Noir palette, and I’m so glad I did. I get some of the concerns–the shadows are thinner/drier, but I’ve found that, as I get older, that’s not necessarily a bad thing–denser shadows can build up, and overly emphasize texture. The color scheme is great for me–neutrals that are cool enough that I don’t get asked if I’m sick when I wear them. Win!
Skin tone: fair/medium with neutral/slightly yellow undertows
Product I returned: Urban Decay Gloss High-Color Revolution in Quiver, when I open it up there was no applicator at the end of the wand so I went back to the store to exchange it.
Product I resisted: Becca Champagne Pop, it seems really pretty but I already have Opal so a second one seems at bit expansive
Product I gave in to: Sephora Favorites Brow Raising Brow Wardrobe in Light/Medium, I was a bit concerned that the colors might be too light for my brows (but I looked up the swatch for the medium/dark one and it looks wayyyy to dark) but I turned out very good.
NC15
Returned – Too Faced Melted Coral. Just not my color.
Resisted – I keep putting Colour Pop Metamorphosis in my cart but not checking out.
Gave in to – Colour Pop BAE. I regret nothing.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light with neutral undertones
Last product you returned? Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick (had double dare and noble) I returned both because I just did not like how they felt on my lips. I dont think I’m a liquid lipstick kind of girl.
Last product you resisted? Lorac Mega Pro 2…just felt like I wouldnt use enough of the shades to make it worth it. plus the ones i would use I had dupes in my collection already for many of them.
Last product you gave in to? Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in Plum Brandy
♥ Your skin tone/coloring:
• Dark to Medium-Deep
• Warm undertone, with a touch of Neutral
• NC44.5 to NC45
♥ Last product you returned?
• Ummm…
❝It’s been so long since I’ve returned ANY product, that I cannot think of an answer. I tend to stick with what I know will work for me, so it reduces or eliminates any chances of me wanting to return the item(s).❞
♥ Last product you resisted?
• Morphe 35O-35 Color Nature Glow Eyeshadow Palette
❝I’m actually, AT THIS VERY MOMENT, resisting the urge to pre-order this palette (it’s back on the Morphe site). It’s supposedly a very sought-after commodity in the makeup community. I might lose this battle…I’ve already gone to the site six times in the past 30 minutes. We’ll see. LOL❞
♥ Last product you gave in to?
• Looxi Beauty Custom 6-Pan Highlighter Palette
❝It was a ‘Flash Sale’ with 50% off and free shipping. That palette was just begging to be bought. Lol. Looxi makes quality cosmetics, and it’s definitely an underrated indie company. I ? Looxi Beauty!!❞
I’ve never heard of Looxi. I’ll have to check them out.
Yes, please do. They’re amazing. The owner is so sweet and humble. The company is also on Instagram, where there’s lots of pics/swatches of the products.
D*mmit! Now I have more makeup to resist! 🙂 Love the look of her uniquely-colored highlighters, like Luna, Voodoo and Ever After!
Aren’t they pretty?! Lots of people seem to like Voodoo. It’ll be perfect for a Halloween look; a green, iridescent highlighter.
I recently picked up Ever After. I’d been resisting it for a little over a month, but I caved after that flash sale. Now I can breathe. Lol.
My apologies if I made your makeup resistance a little more challenging. I just like sharing “the happy” with other makeup lovers. And Looxi = Happy. 🙂
I’m lusting over the same. Light blue, green and violet highlighters? Hell, yeah, I’m on board for that. I like that you can buy the refills only if you want, since I keep most of my highlighters in a Zpalette.
The eyeshadows look gorgeous, too.
Thanks for telling us about them, Momo!
My skin tone is medium with yellow undertones
I returned both the Bite Introductory set and and Mac’s Waterweight foundation this past weekend. The Bite set is nice. But, I was banking on the lipstick, Pepper, as I already own the rest of the items in either full or mini size. And, though the rest of the kit would be nice back-ups and gifts. This kit is awesome if you haven’t tried much from Bite though (FYI-that high pigment pencil is in last years remix set if you happened to have it laying around still). Well, I didn’t like Pepper. Waterweight, just simple to light of coverage for me and not enough moisture going into Fall for me. A nice one for warm weather though and I will sample it again when it gets warm.
The last thing I gave into was the Bobbi Brown Luxe lipstick in Pink Nude. Love it!
Oh, I forgot the thing I resisted! It was the Lorac MegaPro2 palette. I still am occasionally wavering on that one since I get another go round this weekend. Ugh…
Oh no, what happened with BITE pepper? Yeah, I was eyeing the MAC Waterweight Foundation too but kind of odd they launched it right before fall/winter
Hi Katherine! Nothing was really “wrong” with Pepper. I just did not care for it I guess is what I should have typed. I couldn’t find a review for it prior to purchasing the kit. I’m not sure if the Pepper in the kit is the same as the one that is sold alone or not. But, I found It to be a bit patchy. It was okay. But, if I had not gotten the kit, I would not have even noticed it. plus, I feel like the shade is something I have a lot of. Then, I realized, the rest of the kit except the mirror and the lip wipes, which are something I can totally do without, I have in minis that are still full or hardly used or full size. So, Pepper certainly wasn’t worth $55 to me. I actually returned it and got one of the Bite Butter Cream lipsticks in Rosewood. I think I will get a ton of use out of that this fall and winter because our winter is so dry and cold. Yes, that was 2 lipsticks in one Saturday! lol. It’s my weakness. I agree, the MAC Waterweight release timing makes no sense. I really expected to love it with all the hype. But, now that some reviews are out, apparently other people feel the same.
Oooh, BITE Rosewood is a pretty one, and the butter cream formula sounds great for winter! Better to get 1 thing you like than a kit with 5 items that you are only meh about. Enjoy!
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta hair; hazel/green eyes
Last product you returned? Nyx Studio Perfect Primer in Green (didn’t work)
Last product you resisted? Kat von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Palette, though it was easier after seeing reviews.
Last product you gave in to? ABH World Traveler Palette (and I’m glad I did!).
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair-light, yellow-neutral
Last product you returned? I can’t return cosmetics here in Sweden. But I did return a dress from New Look a couple of years ago…
Last product you resisted? Lumene Longwear Blur foundation. I shade matched myself and found the perfect shade but I told my friend to slap my fingers if I wanted to buy any makeup! She didn’t, because I managed to restrain myself!
Last product you gave in to? Hmm, well I didn’t plan to spend as much as I did on H&M’s cosmetics…
Skin tone: Medium olive
Last returned: We are not allowed to return high end beauty products here, but I did return one of the new L’Oreal Infallible matte lipglosses, hated the texture!
Last resisted: Nars Yeux Irresistible Eyeshadow palette
Last give in: Nars Craving Dual-intensity blush, absolutely loved it!
Your skin tone/coloring: NC15-20
Last product you returned? Formula X Electric Pink. It was so uneven when applied. And it dried down to a matte finish so no streaks can be hidden even to a moderate level. I have never had any nail polish finishing so bad like that. Actually this item has been the 1st one I returned over the recent couple years. I normally have good tolerance and am willing to give products a try, as results they all worked out well/ok some how.
Last product you resisted? Christian Louboutin lipstick. Of course the price tag shush me off, haha.
Last product you gave in to? Hourglass Edit limited edition palette. I have none of these 6 shades. Even the add-up value is poor this year, I still think getting all six shades packed in one palette, paid in once, would put a satisfied closure to my craving for Hourglass highlights and blushes.
I gave into that too! kinda feel bad because of the price/ounce but i also didnt have any of the shades (actually didnt have any of the products at all).
Your skin tone/coloring: light and warm
Last product you returned? Burberry Lip & Cheek Bloom in Hydrangea. For an introduction to Burberry it was really disappointing.
Last product you resisted? I resist a LOT of things, really, lol! Last one that comes to mind (as in, I still think about it…) is Smashbox Crush on Blush palette.
Last product you gave in to? Tarte Energy Noire palette. And I think I should probably have passed…
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool
Last product you returned? Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Catfight – I didn’t really returned it but exchanged it for another colour.
Last product you resisted? UD Urban Spectrum palette
Last product you gave in to? Urband Decay Naked Smoky (and I love it)
It’s really been an Urban Decay sort of survey for me!
Oooh – it just occurred to me that the last thing I actually resisted was that big Smashbox palette (one you reviewed with a whole lot of shadow trios in it!) – they had it at Shoppers Drug Mart (same price as in the US, which is amazing in and of itself) AND they had all sorts of bonus goodies if you spent $75 but I was strong and didn’t cave (mostly because I was surprised by how glittery some of the shadows looked and because the palette is so honking huge as to be difficult for me to use on my tiny counter!)
Your skin tone/colouring: M/Dark Neutral Olive
Last product you returned? Burberry Eye Colour Cream in Mink (does NOT work for dark skintones at all)
Last product you resisted? Kat Von D La Vida Loca, it’s a beautiful palette and has surprisingly positive reviews but I likely won’t touch most of those colours, the packaging is incredibly bulky making it difficult to use and store, and I have yet to see swatches on darker skintones.
Last product you gave in to? NARS Dual Intensity Pasiphae, the effect is subtle but still beautiful on my olive skintone
How ironic, I’m wearing Nars Pasiphae today! Love mine too with my medium depth olive skintone and oddly rather green eyes!
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light warm (NC15)
Last product you returned? I return a lot of stuff, I’ll admit. I think the last thing I returned was the Milani liquid lipsticks. I’m somewhat new to the world of liquid lipsticks, and the formula was not beginner-friendly!
Last product you resisted? The Ambient Lighting Edit. Not pleased with the price-per-ounce.
Last product you gave in to? A few items on my last ColourPop order I was waffling back and forth on because I really wanted them, but I didn’t NEED them. Both eyeshadows: Boy Band and La-La. So glad I got both, they’re both stunning!
Your skin tone/coloring: NC05
Last product you returned: Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Studded Kiss Lip Set unused. Don’t regret it and got a foundation instead.
Last product you resisted: To many LE items to count. >_< But Sugarpill's Edwards Scisorhand collection for sure. I want it all!
Last product you gave in to: Urban Decay Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette, no regrets.
NC 30/35 (usually NC35)
Last product you returned?
NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (in Barcelona)
Last product you resisted?
MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation (Y375)
Last product you gave in to?
4 Lipstick Queen lipsticks
Skintone: NC15/20
Product I returned: I don’t know if I’ve ever returned a product, actually. I tend to buy selectively, and if I say, get a set of items, the ones that I’m not a fan of I pass on to my sister or donate (if unused).
Product I resisted: The original Naked palette, at least until they redo the packaging. Probably a lot of other stuff too but that is the item that comes to mind.
Product I gave in to: ColourPop in general. I don’t buy products sight-unseen so it took me a while to try it out. So glad I tried it as I love the brand.
Your skin tone/coloring: light to dark olive
Last product you returned? Wet n Wild Fergie glossy stain-tube broke. :'(
Last product you resisted? Any and all ColourPop.
Last product you gave in to? Urban Decay Vice LTD.
Your skin tone/coloring: light to dark olive
Last product you returned? Wet n Wild Fergie glossy lip stains-tube broke.
Last product you resisted? Any and all ColourPop.
Last product you gave in to? Urban Decay Vice LTD.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light/Fair with Neutral/Yellow undertones. Depending on the season.
Last product you returned? Bite Beauty Rewind Set
Last product you resisted? Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Lipstick Set
Last product you gave in to? Sephora Favorites Give me More Lip Set.
Skin tone: light-medium with gold undertones
Product I returned: Nothing I can think of but I LOST 2 brand new lipsticks lately 🙁
Product I resisted: pretty much matte ANYTHING. Also resisting (with the aid of my financial situation) that new Meteroites snowflake gorgeous holiday snow globe luminizer awesomeness
Product I gave in to: red lipsticks! A new thing for me.
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium/tan with yellow undertones
Last product you returned? Pur Minerals Double Ego teal eyeliner because it stained my eyelids! I still wore it twice after I already knew it stained because I loved the color, but I just had to return it.
Last product you resisted? I almost took the theBalm plunge when it was on Hautelook and get MaryLou finally, but with the 6 buck shipping it would have been almost full price anyway :p
Last product you gave in to? vice4! cashed in all my ulta points and got it for free
Your skin tone/coloring:
Dark warm
Last product you returned?
NARS single eyeshadow New York. Very sheer and not worth the time it takes to build it up and blend.
Last product you resisted?
UD vice 4, I purchased several UD single shadows when they were 1/2 price at Ulta
Last product you gave in to?
Hourglass ambient lighting palette- don’t know why I waited so long!
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair with olive undertones. Technically neutral though I veer toward cool makeup tones.
Last product you returned? MUFE’s Shine On powder. It was too warm and too subtle for my highlighting needs.
Last product you resisted? Benefit’s Dandelion. L’Oreal’s Baby Blossom is a dupe but actually better for me, since the glitter is silver instead of gold.
Last product you gave in to? REVLON BALM STAINS. I’m a few days away from throwing down on about 6 ColourPop shadows.
Skin tone NC50.
Last product returned: Eve pearl blush ordered from QVC.
Last product resisted: Every UD palette : Spectrum, Vice 4 and the Lorac palette.
Last product you gave in to: I bought the Morphe 35O palette today. I’ve never tried their products and was interested in the neutral palette. The 15% discount code made it worthwhile.
Your skin tone/coloring: Dark w/ yellow undertones
Last product you returned? It was an exchange. Clarisonic replacement brush head. I ordered online and the bristles were literally falling out. Had to exchange in store. I was mildly annoyed.
Last product you resisted? YSL Black Addiction and Clash & White Eyeshadow Palettes… so far.
Last product you gave in to? YSL Lumière Divine Highlighting Finishing Powder – (Bloomingdale’s Exclusive).
Your skin tone/coloring: Deep (80 Cognac in MUF)
Last product you returned? Mother liquid lipstick by Kat von d
Last product you resisted? Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette
Last product you gave in to? Lime crime pansy ( it was on sale)
Your skin tone/coloring: light with yellow undertones
Last product you returned? Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Velvet – a bright barbie pink & definitely not my colour!
Last product you resisted? UD Vice 4, even though it’s still available. I could also say UD Smokey palette!
Last product you gave in to? Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayons the holiday remix. I love those!
Skin tone / coloring: Medium / beige neutral to warm
Last returned: Marc Jacobs Moody Margot
Last resisted: Still resisting the new KVD lippies – but I want Chula ASAP
Last gave in to: Chanel Alezane… and I love it!
Your skin tone/coloring: NW20 or NC20 depending on . . . .I don’t know, but sometimes they put the NW on me, sometimes the NC. I think I’m light to medium with yellow undertones.
Last product you returned?
I’m getting ready to return the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (the trio) and maybe Luminous Light. I had such high expectations for these and they just look dusty on me. Maybe I’m not using it/them correctly, maybe I had too high expectations, I’m not sure. It never seems to settle in to the skin on me. I think I’m happy with the Meteorites and should just stick with that. I’m going in for a contour/blush/highlight class at Sephora next week and I’m going to bring it then and ask them to show me how it is used. If I’ve been using it correctly, then I am returning it/them because I just don’t see what all the fuss is about.
Last product you resisted?
A few Chanel eyeshadow quads, a few Chanel blushes.
Last product you gave in to?
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadows, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, Hourglass Luminous Light, NARS Audacious lipsticks, and a few MAC palettes.
*Skintone – light/light medium with some yellow undertones
*Return – Catrice eyeliners -the pigmentation and wear time varies by shade, some are great, others so-so
*Product resisted – Sephora Favorites Holiday Lipstick set – have enough lippies for now
*Product caved in to — MAC Guo Pei Brave Red lipstick and Palm Tree Fluidline
Oh my Katherine! I need some of your strength to resist that Sephora lip set! Agh..That is haunting me. So much is right now though.
It’s funny, we almost caved on the same MAC X Guo Pei items with the exception of the coloring in the quads. I also got Palm Tree, then I went back for Brave Red and the quad (Morning Light) is on pre-sale (thanks to you :)). I don’t regret any of those even though they were pricey for MAC. Beside the sophisticated feeling packaging, I love the lipstick and the fluidline is like nothing I have. Thank you again for tipping me off to the pre-sale. I totally ignored that release and went about my day instead of stalking. But, happened to notice the fluidline and brave Red still for sale later in the day. 🙂
What can I say, great minds think alike 🙂 I would’ve bought Morning Light in a heartbeat if my skin could pull off the yellows and coppers, the colors are so stunning. You’re so lucky you can pull those off! My Night Sky is still in transit, but I got Brave and Palm Tree. Brave is very pretty, and the packaging is like nothing I’ve ever seen. And Palm Tree is unique. I’ve only swatched on my hands but it’s a great gray that’s not too dark or too light. Glad you were able to grab some goodies from this collection. I can’t wait to play with everything 🙂
Katherine, how are you able to track your presale? They only took my credit card info and address. Now, I am worried!
As far as the quad colors, I bet you could pull off both quads. You just prefer the blues. I’m the opposite. I had to stop myself last night form ordering Night Sky. Can you believe both are still in stock? I probably wouldn’t wear it that much and really I am salivating over the dark blue color mostly. Man, if I were a rich girl I would have it though just so I could recreate that look Christine did. 😀
LOL I still think about Morning Light, but another $70 is too painful. You can resist! Just think of all the other holiday goodies that are coming out, or check for dupes in your stash. Yes, I was surprised the collection didn’t sell out in minutes, but guess the price tag is making people pause, or maybe MAC ordered up enough stock, which is great. I hate it when everything sells out in a nano-second. The MAC store is suppose to ship out the stuff today. You can call the MAC South Coast Plaza store and get a tracking # from them. I haven’t called yet, but will probably do so tonight or tomorrow
Ok. So just disregard my question about your Mac x Quo Pei presale. I got it figured out.:) I called and got my tracking #.
Your skin tone/coloring: light/gold or yellow
Last product you returned? Can’t remember, it’s been so long. (I hate to do that.)
Last product you resisted? The ColourPop 90’s collection, but they’re still available…
Last product you gave in to? Marc Jacobs eyeliners in Sunset and Orange Crush
Youe skintone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC C4.5 Studio Fix Liquid foundation, deep brunette, teal green eyes w/gold flecks.
Last product you returned: Nyx Black Bean Jumbo Eye Pencil along with something else from Ulta, but I no longer remember what it was!
Last product you resisted: MAC Guo Pei Red Water Lily. I realized I had too many similar shades of blush.
Last product you gave into: I have a MAC Deep Love lipstick being held to buy it tomorrow!!! I tried on Antique Velvet, but it looked too brown, so one of my favorite SA’s there showed me swatches on his hand of both, and Deep Love has more red or burgundy to it, so I was sold!
Your skin tone/coloring: Very light, neutral undertone.
Last product you returned? A nude lip color from Rimmel, their Show Off Lip Velvet in the shade Apollo. I’ve gotta remember that what looks like a skintone kind of nude on someone else will almost always look unflattering on me. It’s got such a ’60s vibe on other people, but on someone as light as me it’s like pastel orange and beige had a hideous gremlin baby. And I smeared it on my face.
Last product you resisted? Holding off on some of the new Maybelline mattes until I can go through my collection and make sure they’re not dupes for things I already have.
Last product you gave in to? The Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer was on sale on Hautelook for half price the other day. I just had to!
Your skin tone/coloring: MUFE LL #7 Pink
Last product you returned? Dior Addict Fluid Shadow
Last product you resisted? I ran across the Edward Bess berry palette a few weeks ago and came within one click of a button of purchasing it. I’ve wanted it since I first saw it on Sephora (a year or two ago) but I’m afraid my expectations far exceed reality where color and performance are concerned.
Last product you gave in to? The Ariel mirror because I can relate to her story.
Light-med with yellow undertones
I returned the naked 3 palette. It was the first time I returned a cosmetic item. I
Been resisting the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder for so long now.
Finally gave in to the Becca shimmering skin perfector poured in moonstone.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/Light with yellow undertones
Last product you returned? Hmmm. Kat Von D lipstick in Noble- it went on patchy and the color was really peachy with looked weird on my skin. I also exchanged a Tarte blush- I bought a color that was too red and dark for me, and exchanged it for Dollface. (Which is perfect for my skin!)
Last product you resisted? All the holiday palettes this year! They are all last years repeats- I feel as if I have all the eye shadows already , but with different names in permanent palettes.
Last product you gave in to? Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix- and I don’t regret it at all. I love the palette so much- It is the only thing I used on my eyes for a week.
Your skin tone/coloring: Med/dark with yellow undertones.
Last product you returned? Coola SPF 30 Mattifying Setting Spray (total suck– unless you enjoy looking like you’re wearing a pound of makeup)
Last product you resisted? UD Vice 4 palette, all of the Tarte holiday sets, Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
Last product you gave in to? Marc Jacobs No. 20 Holiday Palette + High Liners set, Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix.
Your skin tone/coloring: Neutral to cool/ Fair
Last product you returned? I didn’t actually return it, I switched the MUFE HD foundation for a different color. I typically don’t return items because I’m so meticulous with what I buy, so I usually like what I get.
Last product you resisted? some MUG eyeshadows that I’ve been meaning to get!
Last product you gave in to? I recently snagged the Tarte holiday blush palette, since I didn’t get one last year (and regretted), but after seeing this one this year, I’m glad I waited and got this one instead! this years suits my skin tone better
I also just ordered the Morphe 35O palette during the pre-sale yesterday! I just happened to be on the computer when it was 5 mins to, so I refreshed and ordered it right away! I don’t think I would have gave in if I wasn’t already on the computer, but it was just so convenient. now, I can see if it’s worth all the hype! There’s also some dupes in there that I wanted 🙂
