Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Diorskin Nude BB Cream 01 – tends to oxidize on me
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Sleek Rose Gold blush
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Liz Earle Signature Foundation 01 – I’ll probably get it when I run out of foundations I already have.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? L’oreal magic lumi primer. Actually made my make up melt FASTER, and I looked greasy while it was on. Gave it to a dry friend and she loved it.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? I couldn’t find a blush in my collection that worked with a bright as eff turquoise eye so I used my contour powder and I was actually really happy with how it worked out. I suddenly understand bronzers.

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? the Urban Decay Vice 2 palette. I want it, but christmas is coming up and everyone knows I’m a makeup junkie.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette- The colors were WAY too dark for my super fair skin. I did end up getting the lightest ambient powder and am totally in love with it.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? YSL BB Cream in Clear. I got it as a sample and it has a beautiful coverage and finish. Plus it is fair enough that it actually matches me!

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? UD Eyeliner Vault (both times!), but other than that I am pretty bad and resisting beauty products…

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Revlon nail color in Elusive. It wasn’t a bad polish, but I dislike how matte the black was and felt it undermined the entire point of having glitter in the formula.
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? L’Oreal Bronzed Taupe eyeshadow. I thought it would be too warm on me, but it pulls just cool enough on my skin to work. It’s beautiful. 🙂
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? The Too Faced holiday collection. I would only use half of those shadows regularly. 🙁

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you?: Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved?: Mac Brick O La I think? Not so much didn’t like, but I wasn’t expecting to want it, but loved it so much I broke my no buy to buy it. Same goes for Nymphette, actually, which I got on the same trip.
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted?: Color Club Angel Kiss – but it will be mine someday…

■Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? REN Radiance Perfection Serum. I had received a trial size and this stuff is really amazing for my skin type.
■Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Many of the holiday gift sets! A lot of them include shades that I know I won’t get much use from.

Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair, neutral.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Smashbox primer (the regular one)- it made me break out and turned my foundation into a gloopy mess. I have super dry, clear skin, so this was weird.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Curly Hair Solutions Curlkeeper.

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? UD revolution lipstick in Bang (it’s not really a wintery color, so I can wait). I’m also banned from the Essie display at Target. Sneaking two or three of those into my cart every time I needed toilet paper was… not good.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Foundation. I originally loved it, but when I changed my skin care routine to something I really loved. Estee Idealist Pore Minimizer and that foundation don’t work well together. There is something in both of them that allows the foundation to not stay and when you say rub a finger over it, it beads up and comes off. So I don’t wear it anymore.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Urban Decay in Fiend. I bought it not quite sure I loved it and the more I wear it the more I love it!

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Oh so much! Stilia In the Garden

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Hmmm….Becca EverMatte Primer. Way too difficult to use. Pilled easily, uneven application. It’s worked for others but just not for me.
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? UD Glinda. It seemed more cool toned but then I saw Pixiwoo (Sam) do the tutorial and I loved it so much so I went to the nearest Sephora and recreated the look on me. Bought the palette 🙂
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Hahaha, so many! I usually end up buying them so the resistance only works until I have the money. Lorac Pro Palette…Laura Mercier Artist palette. As much as I admire them and would buy them, I have both Nakeds, a neutral palette from Sephora, and Ludwig from Kat Von D which has some neutrals and some lovely olive greens. Some other neutral single eyeshadows from UD..and now Vice 2. I don’t need another neutral palette :'(

Last beauty product didnt like:estee lauder double wear stay in place powder foundation in 3N1, it looks pretty on the pan but looks kinda dark and patchy on me
Last beauty product you didnt think you would like but you loved it?: revlon lip butter in berry smootie, it looks like my natural lips color, but just a tad darker and i like that
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Well, there are actually 6 products that im resisting to buy: mac eyeshadows in sumptuous olive, satin taupe, powder blush in pink swoon and the 239, 217 and 116 brushes

Karla Avatar

Oh and i also forgot to mention another beauty product that didnt work on me was the revlon lash potion mascara, it makes my eyelashes clumpy, gives very little volume and doesnt length them at all 🙁

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Urban Decay Glinda palette. All the colors are so pretty but I am having such a hard time making a good look with it… so I don’t reach for it much.
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst – didn’t like it at first since it has that bruised eye color to it so as long as you’re careful its really nice – lasts a long time and didn’t crease on me and I think I might have the oiliest eyelids ever.
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Tarte Aqualillies palette… part of me regrets it a little, but I probably only would have used it on vacation 1x year, maybe a little more over the summer.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? La Femme Mauve Sparkle blush – thought it would be too purple but it GOOOOORGEOUS!

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? The new Dior quints – they’re really pretty but I just couldn’t spend that much on them (I have a million Dior quints already so this defies logic but there ya go…)

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? MAC Relentlessly Red – I went to a store to swatch it, but there wasn’t any on display, so the MUA opened a new one and ask me if I want to apply it, so I did, such a special color!
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder, I will definitely buy this, but spent too much money this month already 🙁

3. Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved?
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Eye Cream
4. Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted?
Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani Lipstick in #506. I opted to order a couple more of my holy grail lipstick, the Burberry Lip Covers, instead.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? OCC Pretty Boy Lip Tar, simply because it doesn’t last on me as I was hoping it would
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Clarins Extra Firming Advanced Neck Cream (it sounds so much nicer in French) – I had a large sample I never bothered opening because I thought body lotions/creams or face creams did just as good as job but when I tried this, I was blown away. Just bought a full sized jar!
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Oh dear…I’m not very good at resisting. I was at the Clarins counter today to pick up an order and they share space with Guerlain and I totally resisted even looking at the pressed Meteorites that just came out. Does that count? I’ve also resisted buying Vice 2 and the Too Faced “My Favourite Things” (or whatever it’s called) palettes but it’s anyone’s guess how long THAT resistance lasts!

Last beauty product bought but didn’t like on you: OCC Black Dahlia Metallic lipstick. Beautiful color but too much of a glitter bomb for my luscious lips (ha ha ). Returned to Sephora the next day,

Last Product I didn’t think I’d Like but loved: NYX HD photogenic concealer. Pleasantly surprised!

Last product I wanted to buy but resisted: Lorac pro palette, Anastasia’s eye palettes, the Makeup Geek pigments you have been reviewing.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Pur Minerals 4-in-1 powder. This always looks cakey on me no matter how lightly I apply it.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Fyrinnae Dragons Blood lip lustre. I’m not a red lip pie person but I just had to grab this with my last order, and I just love it on me!!

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Guerlain Lingerie De Peau foundation. I don’t wear foundation enough to justify that kind of price tag on something with a shelf life that short, but if I ever decide to start wearing it regularly, that will be the one.

❆Your skin tone/coloring: NC 20/25 ish I think.. Neutral undertones
❆Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Tom Ford Orchid Haze ES palette. While it is lovely to look at, it is far too ho-hum on me so I definitely feel it was not worth the cash outlay.
❆Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Sleek Vintage Romance ES palette is also in a somewhat similar range to the TF, but the shades are amped up on steroids. The intensity and saturation of these eyeshadows suits me far better at a tiny fraction of the cost.
❆Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Resistence is futile.. but so far I’ve resisted the Armani Eccentrico holiday palette and the Hourglass Ambient powders palette.. writing this just sticks in my craw…

*Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.
*tarte Exposed Amazonian Clay Blush; it is just way too pink on me, and does not resemble the “natural flush” I was hoping for. Fortunately, I didn’t actually buy it, as it was included with a Sephora BI perk.

Another product was the Kevyn Aucoin contour powder; amazing formula & texture, but pulls too brown when applied. I can see it working on many other skintones, though.

*NARS Douceur blush; I relied on Christine’s swatches, and bought blindly, but it is HG for me. I pretty much gave up wearing blush a while back because my skintone is so neutral, blush shades tend to become sort of exaggerated, but Douceur just looks amazing.

*UD Vice 2, but that lasted less than a minute, when I turned around and bought it, LOL. I actually plan out most purchases well in advance, and move things around if something LE comes along. However, while I want to do a foundation “overhaul”, I am forcing myself to wait until I get through some of what I have…

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Hmm..I always try before I buy. Maybe Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powder. I know a lot of people like it, but it’s nothing special in my opinion! I have found much better bronzers at lower prices.
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? NARS Train Bleu. It’s so vampy and dark but it really brings out my green eyes and makes for a sophisticated lip.
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Japanese cosmetics. I want to try them, but I’m holding off since my stash is already too big.

Skin tone/coloring: very fair

I just went through a few products this past week…

Bought but didn’t like: Chanel Joues Contraste in 84 Accent. Couldn’t deal with the shimmer. And, all the UD Revolution lipsticks that I tried = great colors/pigmentation but no staying power. Migrates waaaay too much.

Didn’t think I’d like but loved: Nars Sex Appeal blush (thanks Christine!). Nars Guy Bourdin blush in Daydream. The perfect blush, really. SO hating that it’s Ltd Ed. And, Cargo Water Resistance blush in Bali. Love!

Product I wanted to buy but resisted: Guerlain Crazy Meteorites Radiance Powder. Really want this. Not sure how much longer I can hold out. And, Armani Eccentrico Face Palette.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved?: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush (I don’t normally like such deep colors but it looks lovely and then fades to a slightly lighter pink stain)
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted?: a whole bunch of really lovely looking buxom lip products )’:

I’m light for the most part, but some products make me light-medium, and I have golden undertones.

I didn’t like Urban Decay’s lipstick in Naked 2. It was just hideous on me. Love their lipsticks, though.

Hourglass Mood Light. The Dim makes my face look straight up dirty and the Diffused only works when I use it with a foundation that’s too light, otherwise I look yelllllooow. :/ Mood Light is definitely something that works for me. Pleasantly surprised.

Quite a few recently, literally around the same time. Marc Jacobs blush in Rebellious; a few Chanel lipsticks, the blush in Accent, more of their creme blushes; Lorac Pro and UD Naked 2 palettes; anything from Tom Ford; etc. lol. I want way too much and have finally started to cut myself off/back.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? NARS Casino. I have to layer a ton for it to show.

Lat beauty product I didn’t think I’d like but love: Em Cosmetics Beach Life Palette (note – not all work equally well on me but this one does, especially the blushes)

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Tarte’s holiday blush set – it’s hard to resist a nice blush,

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Estee Lauder limited edition highlighter from the Bronze Goddess collection. I think it looks too yellow on me! (duh, it’s gold… but I thought it’d be better than it was!)
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? I buy a lot of stuff online, so I generally only buy things I think I’ll love. I guess one thing that was a ‘surprise love’ was the Buxom lash mascara sample that I ended up loving! It was just a random, I didn’t pick it out really. I think it was a Sephora offer… 🙂 Worked out nicely!
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Tarte coral crush amazonian clay eye & cheek palette. I was crushed when the Aqualillies one sold out & totally felt like I missed out! But I got the ‘romancing the glow’ one on sale, so I think it’s all worked out! I love the coral colours but don’t think I should get a second one!

* Your skin tone/coloring: light with yellow to neutral undertones
* Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? I tried two foundations: L’Oreal Lumi and Sonia Kashuk Luminous and didn’t like either one. Also, a lot of people rave about NYX eyeshadows, but I’m usually underwhelmed by them. It doesn’t stop me from trying new colors, though!
* Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Nordstrom Rack had a lot of Tarina Tarantino makeup so I got her Pearl Glow Primer (amongst other things :-), fully expecting it to be all glitterific like a lot of her line seems to be, but it was very nice and glowy. It reminded me of the Laura Geller Ethereal Primer.
* Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? I really liked the Laura Geller Scrumptious collection, but I’m holding off for now because I have a bunch of things in my Sephora bag ready to go when the VIB discount starts!

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? Maybelline Color Tattoo in “On and On Bronze”…totally ashy on my eyelids.
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in “Bronzed Taupe”…at first I thought “oh no another ashy eyelid nightmare” but I’ve grown to love it so much and wear it almost everyday.
Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. I really want to try it but I would need to actually fly somewhere where there is a counter to test it out before making such a pricey purchase. This just means that I will have to hold out until sometime in the future.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? MAC Riri Boy. I prefer matte lipsticks. While I have no trouble with Ruby Woo, Riri Boy was too much. I find myself reaching for lip balm repeatedly while wearing it. I love the color, however.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? I didn’t have much expectation for Bite Beauty’s lipstick in Pepper. I snagged a mini with Sephora points thinking I’d use it to judge the formula but I found myself reaching for that quite a bit over the summer. Subtle and divine. I need to try more from them.

Last beauty product you wanted to buy but resisted? Urban Decay Vice 2. I have no idea how long I’ll hold out on that.

Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Avon Extra Lasting Eyeshadow Pencils. Love these! They’re much better quality than I expected from the brand.

Last beauty product you bought but didn’t like on you? BE bareMinerals Try, Believe, Love kit. I tried, but didn’t love or believe. It did nothing flattering for my face. And the Hourglass primer. I can see why everyone loves it, but it makes my skin feel extra dry and tight. Love Hourglass in general, so disappointed.
Last beauty product you didn’t think you’d like but loved? Dr. Jart Gold BB Cream. This stuff actually works, I was so surprised. Got a sample in my Birch Box, was super skeptical, but definitely need to buy ASAP.
