Survey Says... October 21st, 2015
Happy Wednesday! Here's this week's survey, which you can copy and paste and share as a comment.
- Your skin tone/coloring:
- You know you’re a beauty addict when…?
- When did you fall in love with makeup?
- Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?
My skin tone/coloring is NC25-ish, light-medium warm (kind of like yours, Christine).
I knew things had gotten “serious” when I hit Sephora VIB Rouge and Ulta Platinum every year. In fact, I’m already good through to the end of 2016! And I still spend significant dollars at other retailers and manufacturers.
I think I got into makeup — and the item I collect almost obsessively are eyeshadow palettes — when I stopped putting my energy into anything creative, like drawing, painting, and playing the guitar.
I don’t think I’ll ever completely not enjoy makeup, but the need to collect does peak and ebb regularly.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair, neutral
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You know more about the products or brands than the people selling them. You go to the counter and ask if they have a specific new collection yet, and they have no clue what you’re talking about.
When did you fall in love with makeup? Elementary school! I think I always loved makeup. I wasn’t even allowed to wear it and I still horded it.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? It may not always be the same, but I don’t think I’ll ever fall out of love with makeup…. something about your first love, it stays with you, you know?
You said it all better than I could, and it can all be applied to me down to the skin tone. I was always told I had a warm yellow toned skin, and I never really liked the foundations I got, then I finally was matched to a neutral foundation, and it all came together. Took a long time to get it right, I must say.
This is so funny and it happens waaay too after with me. Especially because i am not from US. So any new launches take a while to reach my country. And more often than not, the SAs are clueless about the Company’s offerings. Its like they have absolutely no interest. So often I have “suggested” SAs to check Temptalia just to keep abreast of whats new in their Company and competition- however….
I am fair skinned and i think that you know you’re a beauty addict when you go shopping for makeup products almost every weekend (if not sooner) and you love to collect and wear makeup. Also, if you find that you are watching beauty videos on YouTube a lot that can indicate that you are a makeup lover, or at least very curious about it. I fell in love with makeup probably when i was 20 or so. I don’t see myself ever not liking makeup because collecting it and wearing it is one of my favorite hobbies, and i love all the shimmers!!
Coloring: Light Warm (NC20-25) with dark brown eyes and hair
You know you’re a beauty addict when, well I did when the shelving I had specifically bought for my makeup and skincare overflowed onto a second shelving unit and now takes up half of a room. All with period purges and giving away items that I will never use.
I always loved makeup. I had “play” makeup for as long as I can remember. My parents encouraged anything creative and I always saw makeup as an extension of painting or drawing (Fine Arts, my unused college degree). It was also a form of self expression (and still is) through my teens.
No, I don’t see myself “falling out of love” with makeup. There are times it is less important than other creative endeavors, but creativity in any form is my sanity.
Your skin tone/coloring: NW5
You know you’re a beauty addict when: You have a full drawer dedicated to Sephora/MAC/makeup receipts! I keep my receipts for several months to a year–never know when I might fall out of love with something and want my money back. Thanks to Sephora’s awesome return policy I can almost always at least exchange for a new product.
When did you fall in love with makeup?: About 5 years ago after a bad breakup. I decided I was going to make lipstick a part of my “new” style. Then I fell down the rabbit hole. Guess I was in need of a new hobby!
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?: Not really. But I hope to eventually whittle my spending habits down to “HG products only, with the occasional splurge.” I spend a lot of money trying all kinds of products across all the different brands just because I’m curious about what’s out there (and there is so much out there). I hope to someday calm those temptations and just focus on the products I know I like.
About the receipts – YES! I keep everything organized by date “just in case”. I save packaging also, “just in case”.
Same here! 🙂
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/Light w/ Neutral to Warm Undertones
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You have http://www.temptalia.com saved to your bookmark bar. And when you set an alarm on your phone for when a new/limited edition collection is releasing.
When did you fall in love with makeup? Within the last 2 years. I have always loved lippies and mascara but now will actually use foundation/bronzer/blush/contour/etc.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? When I have kids I will because I’m sure I wont have the $$ to buy all the makeup I want so I’ll stop being so obsessed so I dont have the temptation. But I think I will always love makeup whether I can afford to buy it or not.
Your skin tone/coloring: warm, light/medium
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You have to make an effort to give all of the products that you own some love, and you often forget about products you own
When did you fall in love with makeup? About 2 years ago
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? I think I will definitely spend less time researching makeup, watching videos about it, and putting it on in the mornings once I have kids and free time becomes scarce, but I will always love how it turns me into a better version of myself, at least on the outside and gives me much more confidence.
My kids got used to the fact that mummy had to spend 10 minutes putting on her makeup every morning. And although you don’t have the same budget, there are always dupes…….
Between working full time (and overtime) and taking care of my young kid, reading beauty blogs and collecting makeup keeps me happy and sane. And of course, it doesn’t hurt that that makeup makes me look better too. I just spend less time doing other stuff, like watching TV
I love Survey Wednesdays! I enjoy looking at the responses.
Your skin tone/coloring: Deep Dark/NW50
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? When I stay up all night for the launch of MAC’s limited edition collections.
When did you fall in love with makeup? 4-5 years ago, but I’ve really been getting serious about it for the last year.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? I don’t see that happening anytime soon. There are too many options!
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You start dreaming about makeup!
When did you fall in love with makeup? When I was around 25. Before that I was only wearing mascara, concealer, powder and lipstick, only once in a while. I was concerned about my skin so I turned to online beauty forums for advice, my goal being to find good skincare. Within a few months I got sucked into the makeup boards and it was over, lol!
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? No I don’t think so. Its been over 10 years and I’m still passionate about, so I don’t see why I should ever stop finding it fun.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light with pink undertones
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You can’t help but stop and look at makeup counters at department stores, stop at Sephora everytime you are in the mall, browse at makeup online for hours and justify having loads of makeup
When did you fall in love with makeup? 13 years old when I was taken to Merle Norman by mom to learn how to apply it properly
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? Never, I will be 85 (hopefully) and still applying some makeup at least just like my great aunt does (she does her brows and lips everyday)
I am medium warm/neutral
I know I’m a make up addict because I spent my budget for household things( sheets, towels, etc) on make up for the last three months in a row! And I already have a fairly generous monthly beauty budget to begin with!
I fell in love with make up when I was so small I had to stand on my tip toes to see the top of the cosmetics counter at a local department store in the mall…about age 5 or so?
I do believe there will come a time when I will buy and wear less make up due to the obstacles presented by aging skin and retirement budgets. I will always love make up, I just won’t always be able to indulge in it the way I do now.
Your skin tone/coloring:
– light/medium with red undertones = NW30
You know you’re a beauty addict when…?
– you buy products just for the packaging
When did you fall in love with makeup?
– I actually didn’t start wearing makeup till after highschool because I couldn’t be bothered and now I love it
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?
– Maybe when I’m old and can’t be bothered again lol
skin tone: fair/light with yellow tones
you know you’re a beauty addict when: you find yourself just sitting and looking at your makeup because it’s so pretty <3
when I fell: I think I was maybe 12 or 13… so about the average age I'm guessing
will I ever fall out?: I hope not!! I love makeup, I can't imagine not loving it!
Skin tone – NC15-20ish
I knew i was a beauty addict when i realized that i knew more about a product(s) then the sales staff…
I fell in love with mu while watching my mom purchase Avon (i think i was 6 or 7 years old).
My love for mu has matured over time (i am more selective these days) but i will be loyal to the end!!
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool-toned
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? when you rearrange your day and reschedule things so you can get to the makeup counter or Sephora to grab up your latest (possibly LE) obsession; when you hit VIB Rouge Status about mid-way through the year; when your makeup/skin care weighs almost as much as your clothing and shoes when flying by air and when you are relieved to be travelling by car just so you don’t have to leave any of your beloved makeup at home in the interests of “packing light”
When did you fall in love with makeup? I was probably about 13 or 14, waaaay back in the 60’s
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? No chance….I’ll probably be one of those dotty, bizarre lookin’ old dames toddling around with way too bright cheeks, way too much eyeshadow and highlighter up the wazoo, thinking I just look fabulous when I’m in my 90’s (and I’ll probably be budgeting my pension to pay for my latest obsession!)
Your skin tone/coloring: medium light with yellow undertone.
You know you’re a beauty addict when…?: when you notice tiny differences between similar products and think you need all of them! (“I own 30 shades of brown but THAT ONE is slightly more orangey/purplish/shimmery/pigmented/etc!)
When did you fall in love with makeup?: I’ve been in and out of love with it since forever, but I think this is the best moment in history to be into makeup! The variety! The possibilities!
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?: I may fall out of love with certain colors, styles and such, and I may stop collecting products. But I can’t think of a reason to stop liking makeup now that I’m finally getting the hang of it!
My skin tone/ coloring is very light. NC15.
I realized I was a beauty addict when my makeup collection started to expand all over my room. I am VIB Rouge and Platinum…
I started wearing makeup in college but really fell I love when I started working for Clinique and am surrounded by like minded people.
I will never not love makeup unless my skin melts off.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light/warm
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You’re obsessed with reading blogs and watching YouTube to learn about new products, and systematically plotting what you might purchase, while balancing out new purchases with old standbys and the items that make up your basic routine.
When did you fall in love with makeup? I was probably about 12, starting to have bad skin, and trying to feel prettier. I started researching different companies and ingredients (yes, at 12!) to figure out what would work for me. I probably would have done better in school if I’d applied some of my research skills elsewhere, lol.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? I have started to. I put more of a premium on having a few products that will allow me to look baseline pretty for work and for play, and a few select items I can add if I’m really dolling up. I’m trying to use up older products, not buy everything that catches my eye, and apply more of my 12-year-old’s research skills to what I will truly use and enjoy.
-Your skin tone/coloring: NC15-20 with neutral undertone
-You know you’re a beauty addict when…? When I research on the product, read PR articles and dig everything I can to learn more. Also I have a good hunch these days about the texture and performance of the product, that’s experience-based I believe.
-When did you fall in love with makeup?
High school freshman year, when I had bad pimple that left scars. To cover them during daytime, I started to wear tinted primer and foundation. Then I realize a little mascara will make my eyes pop. So one thing at a time, I started to dig into it.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?
I don’t think that’s possible. It’s also my creative outlet everyday. I can calm down very quick if I was about to apply mascara. That even helps me focus in the morning.
Your skin tone/coloring: NC15
You know you’re a beauty addict when…?: You know more about a product/brand than the salesperson does, you hit VIB Rouge status, a fourth of your bedroom is dedicated to makeup and/or skincare, you wake up at 5 am for a collection launch, etc
When did you fall in love with makeup?: About 4 years ago when I got sick. It was the only thing that made me feel human.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?: The dynamic might change if I get better as it won’t be about making me feel just barely human, but I’m pretty sure I’ll always be a beauty junkie, especially if I get better and get a paycheck that can partly go towards feeding my beauty junkie habit.
Your skintone/coloring: Medium w/olive undertones MAC C4.5 Studio Fix Liquid Foundation or NC40 Pro Longwear, deep brunette, teal-green gold flecked eyes.
You know you’re a beauty addict when: You have to keep finding new places or the means with which to store your continuously blooming stash! You check beauty blogs every single day!
When did you fall in love with makeup: I knew I loved it when I was only 2 y.o. when I got into my Mom’s expensive red lipstick! Pics of which look like Baby Joker! That went on hiatus till my late teens, then it went full throttle until I had my son, and then daughter, didn’t get crazy-serious about it again until my 40’s.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup: Oh my goodness, I hope not!!! No, I don’t see myself ever doing that, at least not in the foreseeable future.
Baby Joker LOL My 2 yr old girl is eyeing my makeup stash, especially all those great “crayons”. Once she grabbed my lip balm and pretended to smear it all over her lips. I might catch her one day, looking like Baby Joker. Will be quite the photo 😉
Yep! Better to keep all the goodies under lock & key! Or you really could wind up with some priceless pics, LoL!
My son did me one better, though, hen he DRANK a bottle of my liquid foundation and had me and his dad freaking out and on the phone to Poison Control! ?
Oh my goodness, I would be freakin’ out too!! Glad he turned out ok. And hope it wasn’t a Tom Ford or Guerlain one. Right now, we have safety gates everywhere, but eventually I’m going to have to lock it all up (sigh)
As scary as it was, we learned that foundation ( at least whatever one I was using at the time!) isn’t poisonous, but to keep on eye on him because it could potentially constipate him. No, thankfully not a HE brand, just Revlon, I think. After that, I kept my liquid mu products up high! Yes, your lock and key days are (probably) here….I feel your dilemma. ?
Your skin tone/coloring: MAC NC 35
You know you’re a beauty addict when… You have 65436 lipsticks in peachy pink, berry and mauvey pinky nude shades but they are ALL DIFFERENT colors ?
When did you fall in love with makeup? I was probably too young to have found that love lol but realistically 12 yrs old ish…
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? Probably not its been a nice long love affair ?
Skin tone: Medium with yellow undertones
You know you’re a beauty addict when “The Holiday’s” kick off in September with makeup galore that you can’t seem to keep up with!
I fell in love with makeup when I was in 5th or 5th grade
I don’t think I will ever stop loving it! Every once in a while I get a lazy bug and take a few lazy days and come back strong!
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta hair; hazel/green eyes
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You’re VIB Rouge and/or Ulta Platinum not just till the end of this year, but the end of the next…and working on the year after that.
When did you fall in love with makeup? As soon as I knew it existed. 🙂 I can remember being about two years old and obsessed with my mom’s makeup.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? No, I can’t imagine that ever happening. It’s too beautiful and there are always new products coming out.
Skin tone/coloring: a touch more beige than NW20
You know you’re a beauty addict when you fantasize about having a dedicated makeup room.
I fell in love when I was in a bad relationship and kept buying lipsticks to cheer myself up when the guy was being uncool.
Some day I hope to be financially responsible enough that I’m not AS much of a beauty addict, but I’ll never fall all the way out of love. Makeup is my forever jam.
Skin tone: mac c3
I knew i was a makeup addict when i hit VIB Rouge and employees at makeup counters started recognizing me.
Fell in love with makeup in junior high and i dont see it ever being otherwise.
I have fair skin, neutral leaning towards cool, dark auburn hair and green/grey eyes.
How I know I’m a makeup addict is that I cannot resist buying a new shade or texture just to try it out and add to my collection! I’m like a magpie! Also, like an above poster, I dream about it, it’s comforting to go to sleep thinking of makeup ?.
I’ve always been a little bit in love with makeup, ever since I saw my Grannie’s Helena Rubenstein makeup, in its shiny gold packaging. The first time I bought expensive beauty products was at uni, I had the Clinique 3-step system and the YSL Touche Eclat when it first came out, but everything else was from the drugstore! It’s only recently though that I’ve been serious about skincare and makeup as it’s a little bit of escapism from being a full-time mum to an active 18-month-old.
I don’t think I’ll ever fall out of love with makeup, it’s always been interesting to me and it’s always changing. I might not wear it all the time but that doesn’t stop me admiring it.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/light, cool toned.
You know you’re a beauty addict when…?: People look at your makeup collection and say “How are you going to use all of this before it expires?”
When did you fall in love with makeup?: I fell in love with makeup at two different times. Once when I was 13 and got very into makeup and fashion for a while, and again just this year. I saw Kevyn Aucoin’s Bloody Gorgeous set in an advertising tab online and decided to get it immediately, which turned into a trip to Sephora, which turned into more purchases and makeup tutorials on youtube and how-to-apply-makeup books and days spent trying on different looks and….yeah.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? I think it’s a possibility. I’ve had times where I didn’t care at all about makeup. Hopefully not, though. It’s bringing me a lot of happiness.
Light- medium with yellow undertones
You know you’re a beauty addict when you come home with a purchase and realize you already own a shade really similar. You also need to rotate your stash to make sure everything gets enough attention and love. Your older product instantly gets demoted when you have something new.
I was into makeup since I was about 16? I had a big shoebox then. It wasn’t until about 4 years ago I really dove into this passionate hobby of mine.
I don’t think I’ll ever fall out of makeup. I feel it’s something that’s apart of me that will always make me happy. (Like cooking). I’m sure there’ll be a time in my life where I can’t devote as much time and money with this hobby, but I’ll always have a soft spot for it.
Skintone/Coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.
Addict: When your 4-year-old tells you that you already have too much makeup as you’re stopping at a random makeup counter… When you’re on a weekend camping trip in High School, and someone points out that your makeup bag is bigger than your suitcase… When you go years without buying any clothes (in all fairness, I go through phases, and have amassed a substantial, quality wardrobe for any occasion)… Finally, when you’re purging your lipstick stash, and adding up the retail value of everything thrown out, and realize you could pay rent for several months…
First Fell In Love: I honestly can’t remember a time I didn’t love makeup… My mom worked as a nurse, and no matter where she worked, there was always someone moonlighting as an Avon/Mary Kay rep, so she always had samples for me (she would buy tons of body fragrances, but never wore makeup). I started with lipstick & gloss, and was wearing a full face by 12. The fact this was in the early-80s, and I discovered the Goth subculture at the same time, played a huge role.
Tire of Makeup: Never! I may not wear it as often, or in a way I would really like to, but I make it a point to apply something every day. I also plan to really slow down my purchases for at least a year, but mainly out of necessity, not disinterest. I will be 85 and still rocking shimmery eyeshadow, and black winged liner, LOL!
Your skin tone/coloring: Pale
You know you’re a beauty addict when…you can’t seem to buy enough products!
When did you fall in love with makeup? I can’t remember how old I was because that has been a long time ago – but from an early (appropriate) age.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? Sometimes it wasn’t an obsession when I my two daughters were growing up and I was obsessing on them but I still purchased a lot of makeup – just not as much.
My skin tone is medium to deep.
I knew I was an addict when I hit VIB and then two weeks later I was Rouge!! Before I wold. Only stick to one brand and that was Bobbi Brown but I got so tired of the neutrals and nudes so I ventured out and that’s when it all got started.
Ive been into makeup all my life but when I started selling Mary Kay my obsession with eyeshadow kicked in and I love collecting palettes!!
I will never fall out of love with makeup. I have enough eyeshadow to last me until I’m at least 90 lol
Skin tone: Very fair, porcelain
You know you’re a beauty addict when you covert new releases that excite you, even though you have plenty already
I fell in love with makeup when I about 12 years old (and I am in my 60’s now)
And no, I will NEVER fall out of love with makeup.
You are awesome. I hope I never fall out of love, either. I’m curious– what are the products or brands, if any, that you have really stuck with over the years?
Your skin tone/coloring: Dark neutral
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You got years of unopened/unused makeup on backup!!
When did you fall in love with makeup? I enjoyed it more in my late 20’s. I enjoy how it can transform your appearance and still look delicate and soft.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? Nope. I love lipsticks and blushes too much to give up 🙂
♥ Your skin tone/coloring:
• Dark to Medium-Deep
• Warm undertone, with a touch of Neutral
• NC44.5 to NC45
♥ You know you’re a beauty addict when…?
● When you keep buying the same shade of something over and over again, but from different makeup companies, and you still feel justified. (e.g. I own ABH’s “So Hollywood”, Becca’s SSP “Opal”, Kiko’s Water Eyeshadow #208, etc., but I still rushed out and bought MAC’s “Oh, Darling” EDMSF, fulling knowing that they ALL pretty much look the same. It’s cool. Don’t you judge me!!)
● When you stay up all night to catch a makeup launch. #Coffee&First
● When you look at someone else’s stash, despite knowing how big your collection is, and you still wish you had what they have.
● When you’ve got more makeup than you could possibly use in a lifetime.
● When you “officially” have a collection: 15 or more of a product type. (e.g. My highlighter collection: 50+)
● When you buy a product not so much for its contents, but because it looks pretty. (i.e. The embossment, the packaging, etc.)
● When you try to go on a “No Buy” and fail within 5 days or less.
● When you get insanely happy when you meet/find someone who enjoys makeup as much as you do; especially when they know how to “speak in makeup code”. (e.g. MSF, BNIB, MUFE, LE, etc.)
❝I think I may need makeup rehab.❞ ?
♥ When did you fall in love with makeup?
• Back in 2006 or 2007. First, thanks to Iman, and then second, thanks to those YouTube slideshow makeup tutorial videos (old school).
♥ Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?
• I don’t think so. This is the most fun I’ve ever had, as a hobby, since I stopped drawing/sketching/painting.
My skin tone/ coloring: very fair with cool undertone, like NC15, I never tan and just get freckles and a red skin. 🙂
I knew that I´m a beauty addict when I read beautyblogs and become a blogger. I knew early there´s more than only put cream in a face…
Oh NO! You´ll never get make-up out of your life if it once was in your heart.
Sunny ☼ Love from Germany,
Eva http://tintedivory.com
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair with Yellow Undertone
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? When someone tells you they like your makeup and you go into great detail on what you’re using and how you applied it.
When did you fall in love with makeup? I honestly can’t say what triggered my love for makeup. I know it was a definite downward spiral when I purchased the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette (first palette ever!) and learned how to coupon on drugstore makeup.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? I don’t think I ever will. I find it to be such an outlet for my creative side.
Your skin tone/coloring: Deep chocolate with golden undertones. Ex: Nars Seychelles or Makeup Forever Duo Mat Powder in 214
You know you’re a beauty addict when you stalk instagram and beauty blogs every week just to find out who’s coming out with something you weren’t expecting.
When did you fall in love with makeup? I fell in love with makeup when I saw Givenchy’s limited edition bronzer that looked like a golden olympic medal. It was so gorgeous but I couldn’t pull the trigger at the time because it was also $50-$55 at Sephora. Talk about sticker shock, I’ve never paid for any beauty product over $10 before then in my life.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? Nope. It’s such a great hobby and it reminds me I can always change things around to make them better just like my stash. lol
My skin color is 6.0 in Giorgio Armani – medium neutral.
You know when you are beauty addict when you are a Sephora VIB Rouge and the SAs recognize you. Oh and when your friends come to you for product advice, worship your makeup collection, and secretly pray for hand me downs. 🙂
I fell in love with makeup at a young age, probably around 6-7 years old. I clearly remember playing with my Grammie’s make up and her letting me apply it to her face and her commenting on how shameful it was when your little granddaughter can apply make up better that you can. I don’t think that I will ever fall out of love with makeup. It is so fun and it really does make me happy no matter if it is high end or drug store.
Skin tone/coloring: NC/NW 20, light and neutral cool
You know you’re a beauty addict when: You spend a lot of time thinking about your next purchases, and you’re good friends with the postal workers who deliver your stuff!
I fell in love when: I started making an effort to wear makeup more often than just special occasions. It’s really fun to have a completely different look on different says.
Will I fall out of love: Who knows? I doubt it because it’s my main creative outlet right now and it’s hard to imagine not having that.
Neutral undertone (so I’m told) – I prefer NC 22, though
You know you’re a beauty addict when…
1. You negotiate gas and/or grocery money for a purchase, or when gas and grocery money is a negotiable expense but the monthly beauty budget is firm!
2. Your vanity area looks like a shrine to Tom Ford or Marc Jacobs or MAC or . . . .
3. Researching brands/products/colors and looking at swatches is to you what watching the news is to others.
4. You ask your friends to give you at least a firm 2 hours notice before any social event not because you need that long, but because you want to play and you love the process of putting your face on.
5. You think that Sephora should come out with a Visa or MasterCard option so you can buy groceries and gas with it and earn even more points towards your next purchase. Same with Chanel, Tom Ford, Urban Decay and MAC.
6. You are talking with an MUA or SA at one of your favorite brand’s counters/stores and you know (more?) about the upcoming releases than they do. Not a slam, but I have 3 MUA’s at counters that have all told me that, that some of their clients consistently know more about releases than they do.
7. You realize you have an encyclopedic knowledge of all the names and colors of that brand for the last 20 years.
Or is this just me?
When did you fall in love with makeup?
When I was in my early teens. God, I loved the 90s contoured eye!
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup?
I don’t think so – not after all the researching, buying, collecting, cataloging, organizing and dare I say curating I’ve done. I’ve always loved it, even if I did all but give up on it for most of my 30’s. I feel like I’m all caught up now with my collection and my techniques and I don’t want to lose any ground again. That and I love the hunt for the HG!
Hahahaha!
Your “You know you’re a beauty addict when…” list looks similar to mine. #1 and #3 had me rolling with laughter. We know our addiction details all too well. We’re definitely two peas in a fabulous makeup pod. Lol
Woot!
I can definitely relate to you both!!! I have done #1, 3 &4 more often than I’d care to admit, and I absolutely 2nd #5!
*Light/Light medium , dark hair, brown eyes
*When you get the Sephora email congratulating you for VIB Rouge status through 12/31/2016 (not 2015), and when you realize you have the shadow and about 3 of the dupes too
*About 3 yrs ago, when my skin started acting up, I started researching/buying all these skincare products and that morphed into my makeup obssession
*Never!! I’ll be 90 yrs old and still love makeup. I better, because I have enough until then LOL
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium with yellow undertones
You know you’re a beauty addict when…you go out less and spend the money you save on makeup!
When did you fall in love with makeup? When I started watching RuPaul’s Drag Race 🙂
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? I hope not.
Skin tone- fair, very warm
I knew I was a beauty addict when my husband asked me if we were going to start selling makeup wholesale- my cosmetic stash encompasses an entire bedroom & walk in closet.
I fell in with makeup (& hair coloring) at 19 yrs old when I went to cosmetology school.
My makeup obsession has only grown with time, I’ll never fall out of love with it!

You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You need excel spreadsheets to keep track of everything
When did you fall in love with makeup? I started using make-up in my mid-teens, but I truly fell in love with make-up in my early twenties.
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? No.

– You know you’re a beauty addict when…

When you can spend the evening contemplating your makeup collection (my precious…) and swatching, reswatching and reorganizing your eyeshadow palettes…,
– I fell in love with makeup about 2 years ago (I was 40). Until then, I was only wearing foundation and mascara. The fact that my drugstore foundation was discontinued was the starting point: as I could not find any similar drugstore foundation (most of them were too dark for my ghostface), a friend of mine suggested that I should have a look at Mac stores. She was right, but the foundation I bought there was not long lasting enough, so I started using powder but as I did not know how to apply it, my face was looking cakey… So at the end, I took a full makeup lesson and few weeks later I was obsessed with eyeshadows, then with eyebrow products, brushes, blushes, highlighters, etc…
– Will I ever fall out? Never. Buying and applying makeup makes me so happy that I wish I fell into makeup earlier…
Your skin tone/coloring: Neutral to Cool/ Fair
You know you’re a beauty addict when…? You’re constantly finding reasons to buy new makeup! I mean, limited edition practically throws itself at my wallet!
When did you fall in love with makeup? I’ve always kinda liked makeup since I was a lot younger (lipstick and cheap eye shadow), but I actually started wearing makeup in late middle school (raccoon eyes, just foundation and mascara 0.0) but I actually REALLY fell in love with makeup about….2 years ago??
Do you think you’ll ever fall out of love with makeup? probably not. it’s just a fun way to express myself, and it’s a fun hobby of collecting products and trying to things and watching the world of makeup develop over the years. it’s a very artistic and diverse community to be in.

You know you’re a beauty addict when friends, family and co-workers ask you to help them choose makeup for their weddings, special occasions etc. and you’re not a MUA. I’m a skin care junkie and I study/use Ayurvedic oils for my hair/skin too. When I die, I intend to be the softest and prettiest Mummy the world has ever seen.
I’ve loved makeup from birth. My Mother is a beauty addict. I had “play” makeup as a pre schooler. My play makeup was the little Avon sample lipsticks or some little makeup kit from the local Woolworths (for those of you who remember lol).
I’m 52 and I’m astonished that my addiction to books, music and makeup has not diminished one bit. My Mom is 76. When I’m unavailable, she drags my poor Dad to Sephora and other makeup counters regularly. It’s in my DNA.
