Last product bought on a whim: Laura Geller Gelato blush
Debated and then bought: eyebrow gel (forget the brand)
Crossed off list: Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. full bottle is like $40 and I just cannot bring myself to spend that!

Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Hourglass Mood Exposure
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Anastasia Brow Wiz (gasp), I duped it with a Korean product.
I looked up Antique Velvet because you mentioned it, wow that’s such a unique color! I’d definitely consider it once fall comes around. It’d look so pretty with a coppery eyeshadow look.
Love that Antique Velvet colour – it is so gorgeous. Hope you love it.
Your skin tone/coloring: Olive/Medium skin tone. South Asian skin..

Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? MAC Diva! I got that for my birthday last year 🙂
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/light with warm undertones (MAC NC15)
Last product you bought on a whim? MAC Wash and Dry Steam Heat lipstick (love it, by the way!). It’s such a nice summer red, because it has the strong warm undertones. I bought it because I loved the packaging for this collection, and SH and Morange were the only things I really wanted. Morange sold out very quickly though.
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? I bought the Ambient Light Diffused Light powder. I wanted it forever, and finally caved and bought it about a month ago. I ended up returning it because it was a little too expensive to justify to myself. I did like how it made my skin look, and I think I might repurchase it someday, but it wasn’t enough to justify the price to myself at this time.
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? I took a ton of stuff off my Sephora wish list yesterday actually, there was just a lot of stuff on there I didn’t even want anymore. I think there was a BB shimmer brick, a couple of lip products, mainly stuff I was interested in and wanted to check out at some point but I ended up not wanting.
Your skintone/coloring : Medium with olive undertones MAC C4.5-5 in MAC Studio Fix liquid foundation, deep brunette, teal-green w/gold flecked eyes.
Last product you bought on a whim: MAC Laundry List lipglass! And I <3 it!
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought: UD Naked 2 palette. I knew that I was going to get a Naked palette, but yeah, I agonized and over-analyzed which are one to death!
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wishlist (without buying): MAC Freshen Up Highlighter. And I actually HAD my chance to nab it, but didn't….? And the one before that would've been UD Naked 3, of which I was talked out of by not 1, but SEVERAL SA's and MUA's!
Skin tone/coloring: Light-medium warm (NC 20-25);
Last product bought on a whim: By Terry Eye Designer Palette – Color Design (I already had the Smoky Nude one so I just had to have this one, too);
Last product you debated over but finally bought: BareMinerals 8.0 “The Royals” palette;
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list without buying: Viseart Neutral Matte eyeshadow palette — although I may still score that one in the future.
■Your skin tone/coloring: light, cool
■Last product you bought on a whim? NARS Bridgette and Dragon Girl. Not sure how I feel about Bridgette, it’s a bit warm but I LOVED it in store.
■Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? MAC Coppering. Worth it, very good product.
■Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Most of the Melt lipsticks! I’m still lemming Space Cake, but who knows if I’ll be one of the lucky ones to snap it up when it finally comes back in stock. Other than that though, the colors just aren’t quite worth it, plus I actually like dry mattes but the texture sounds like a gamble. Shady Lady is pretty but dupeable, probably in an easier texture for a few dollars cheaper. Blitzed is too light and Blow is too green, it just makes more sense to make my own interpretations using Lip Tar, especially given how little usage I’ll reasonably get out of them as a late-20s office worker. Dark Room is very pretty, but if I’m honest I probably have very similar things in my stash. Looking forward to seeing what they come out with next, I’d love to pick up Space Cake and another thing or two to get my money’s worth on shipping.
I got Dark Room, and I think it’s horribly dry and draggy. The color is patchy. It was so disappointing. You didn’t miss out there. I’m afraid to buy any more lipsticks from them, it’s so awful.
Oh no, that’s what I was worried about! So disappointing. Thank you for the input, I would hate to be stuck with a bad lipstick. How would you say it compares to Ruby Woo?
Dark Room is much, much drier than Ruby Woo. I rarely find a lipstick to be drying, even mattes, but Dark Room has the driest texture I’ve ever used. The color is quite different than Ruby Woo. Dark Room is more of a purply wine than red, and it’s darker than Ruby Woo.
I meant to say texture. 🙂 Wow, that’s a bummer! I like Ruby Woo a lot, but it’s pretty much as dry as I will happily go. Much, much drier sounds Awful. I’m a little scandalized that the color was not as pictured though! How would you say it was different?
The color is not as purple, not as creamy, not as vivid. It’s a pretty, but dupe-able shade of wine. ColourPop LBB is a pretty close dupe colorwise (but it’s not ultra-matte).
If you look at these swatches, you can see where they’re much patchier than similar shades in MAC: http://www.melissatee.com/2015/01/melt-cosmetics-lipsticks-review-swatches.html . She mentions, “these lipsticks tug A LOT. If you can’t tell from the swatches, it looks a bit patchy because I dragged it against my skin a few times to get a nice swatch.”
I had a similar experience. I have dry lips. So baaad.
It didn’t dry my lips out, but it felt so horrible, and just dragged and pulled when I put it on. On top of it, the color was nowhere near like the pictures I’d seen online, so it isn’t even unique enough to warrant working with it.
I sometimes wonder if their quality control is lacking. My tube of Dark Room is fantastic, but I was one of the people who got a tube from the batch of DGAF that was indigo not blue.
It sounds like the QC may not be too great, then. Did they at least replace your DGAF with the proper shade?
Unfortunately no, that entire batch was indigo and they discontinued the color after it sold out. They sent me a free tube of 6six6 though (they let me choose my free color) and let me keep the tube of DGAF.
Well, at least the customer service was good. I’m glad to hear that.
Skin tone: Fair/Pink
Last Product you Bought on a Whim? The OCC pro pack of 12 lip tar minis. It was in the sale section at Sephora for 36 dollars and I snatched it up.
Last Product You Debated over Forever but Finally Bought? Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil in Freak.
Last Product you Wanted but Finally Crossed off your Wish List? Oh man, do I ever actually cross anything off? I guess it would be MAC lipstick in Lady Danger.
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium/Dark (NC44/45)
Last product you bought on a whim? Too Faced Melted Metal in Dubutante, I deeply regret it because of how awful the colour looks on my skintone 🙁
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Guerlain Meteorites in Dore, Fairly nice product but I can’t stand the strong violet scent!
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Tom Ford Mascara in Intense Teal (Why can’t Canadians buy Tom Ford without relying on crossing the border or having a friend ship it to us? 🙁 ), and of course the Sun Safety Kit by Sephora, I looked so forward to getting it for over a year and they release this mess, incredibly stupid of them to curate a kit with skintone targeted products as they alienate 80% of their customers.
Skin Tone/Coloring: Very Light, Green Eyes, Brunette – NW 10
Last product bought on a whim: Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick – 402 Adrienne. Beautiful, beautiful color, sadly, it dries out my lips a bit.
Last product debated forever and bought: Nars Blush in Orgasm – I shouldn’t have waited so long, I absolutely love it!
Last product I wanted but didn’t get: Nars Blush in Amour
Skintone: MAC NC15
Last product bought on a whim: MUFE Artist Palette (Nude version). I already own one nude palette, but the quality of the product was just so high. It was just GOOD.
Debated over forever but finally bought: Chanel Rouge Coco “Arthur” and a matching UD lipliner. Still not sure if it was a good idea. I like the thought of the occasional red lip with a slightly smudgy bedroom eye look, but every time I wear a red lipstick I don’t like how it looks on me. Skin tone too light. I think it stands out too much. Yet the idea is tempting. And now that I have it… it feels like such a “not me” look.
Last product I wanted but crossed off my lip: Giorgio Armani liquid eyeshadows. The reviews were so impressive, and they look beautiful in person too, but somehow I couldn’t make them look flattering enough in the store, so I passed over them.
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair neutral; magenta-red hair, hazel/green eyes
Last product you bought on a whim? Sephora Collection Nano eyeliner pencils. They were on sale for $3 each, so I threw a few in with my last order.
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette because of the price. I’m glad I got it, though.
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Tarte Poppy Picnic palette. I love the packaging, but it got so many so-so reviews. I had recently bought the Miracles from the Amazon palette, so I have something similar. I gladly bought the MUFE palettes instead.
Honestly, unless the quality is absolutely superb, once you buy one tarte neutral palette, you really don’t need to buy another, LOL! I have several, and while they look & swatch differently, once applied to the eyes, they pretty much all look the same… I’m fair & neutral, and I can typically notice subtle differences, but not with tarte!
I can tell the difference with their eyeshadow only palettes, particularly the mattes, but the all-in-one face palettes are starting too look too similar. I don’t think I’ll be buying any more palettes from Tarte unless they start throwing in some non-earth tones. The last two LE palettes just seemed like they had too much talc.
Skin tone/coloring: Fair/warm
Last product bought on a whim: Body Shop Honey Bronzer in shade 01. This stuff is AMAZING for fair skin; it looks like natural sun (with the tiniest hint of red) instead of flat brown.
Debated and then bought: YSL Glossy Stain Rebel Nudes in Corail Hold Up. I’ve worn it every day since.
Crossed off list: Original Naked palette. I had a few ColourPop shades that duped the colors from this I wanted at less than half the price!

◾Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Makeup Geek blushes.

Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Watermelon Slice. I think it’s a beautiful color but I finally told myself I wouldn’t get any use out of it. 🙁

Last product you bought on a whim? Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Wonderchlde. I’m glad I did. It looks great on me and I don’t seem to have too much of a problem with the formula like I know some people do.
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Guerlain Météorites Compact. And then I agonized about keeping it but finally did and I’m glad I did.
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. My partner got it and it really evens up her skin tone. When she bought it, Sephora didn’t have my shade so the SA gave me some generous samples and every single time I wore it, I broke out. It’s too bad because I liked it.
That’s a bummer about Complexion Rescue. It’s very light and I think I will be reaching for it this summer (is it summer yet?) Onwards!
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Last product you bought on a whim? Smashbox Hydrating Under-eye Primer
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Stila Spirit Eyes Are the Windows palette
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Hourglass Ambient Light blush (their Colourfield eyeshadow palette is one I’m still debating, though….nearly went to get it today but the threat of thunderstorms was enough to deter me, so I can’t really want it all that much!)
Your skin tone/coloring: NC25
Last product you bought on a whim?: Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipglosses! They’re surprisingly really nice, I’ve been wearing Dainty (a lovely nude) non-stop.
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought?: Sunday Riley Good Genes! It was totally a splurge, but definitely worth it. My skin has never been smoother (and as acne-free!)
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)?: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. It’s been raved about for oily skin, but there seems to be a lot of better alternatives now for primers.
Your skin tone/coloring: Pale neutral warm something….
Last product you bought on a whim? – Real Techniques Sculpting Set. I owed my mom 500kr but bought that set for 300 instead… sigh… I don’t regret it though, I got my student grant soon enough to repay her, and the brushes are great!

Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? NARS All Day Luminous Foundation. I ended up wearing it on my wedding day & it was perfect!
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Oh, there’s so many! I usually end up deleting a bunch of stuff from my Sephora wish list just because I get tired seeing it sit there!

Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? A couple of items in the Tom Ford summer collection. I just couldn’t buy something that expensive knowing that I couldn’t return it if it didn’t work for me. They don’t sell Tom Ford cosmetics anywhere near me so I have never even swatched any of the products before. (If you know of a place that sells Tom Ford that will allow you to return makeup that you’ve tried, please let me know!)
Your skin tone/coloring: Light warm-leaning.
Last product you bought on a whim?: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX.

Last product debated and finally bought: Nars Narsissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow palette – just today!
Last product crossed off list w/out buying: Tarte Tartelette Amazonian clay matte palette. Just couldn’t get excited enough about the neutral colors to pull the trigger. Bought Showstopper and Rainforest After Dark instead. Still unsure about them, the cheek colors are nice but the eyeshadows seem to get muddy together and all look the same. Also, Lorac Unzipped Blush palette. I actually really wanted this, but I didn’t snap it up in time before Ulta stopped carrying it! 🙁

I’ve had this product on my wishlist ever since it got your recommendation, but I have so many highlighters that I decided not to get it. I didn’t take it off my wishlist and I ended up buying it. It’s so nice! 🙂
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? MAC Flat Out Fabulous lipstick – I swatched it in store and then came home and compared it to some of the lipsticks and lipliners I had. Turns out “I Heart This” lipliner by ColourPop looks very similar to it!
Skin tone/coloring: fair, warm ‘peaches’n’cream’ complexion, hazel/green eyes, platinum blonde
Last product you bought on a whim? Lancome’s Teint Visionnaire foundation, horrid, oxidizes to oompah loompah orange & settles in fine lines & pores giving the ‘polka dot look’
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? After a long (and expensive & futile) search for a less expensive foundation I went back to my Cle de Peau silky cream foundation.
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? The summer ‘pink glow’ edition of the Tom Ford Eye & Cheek Compact – it sold out before I could get back to the US..WAHH!!
Skin: fair neutral.
Last whim: Chanel eyeshadow stick in Laurier Rose.
Debated over: Tom Ford eyeshadow quad in Cognac Sable, for like two years, lol. Verdict: worth it. Not because the shadow quality is so much better than anything else I have – they’re great, but not extra special fantastic, you know what I mean? I own lots of fabulous eyeshadow! But the particular shades in this quad are so, so flattering on me.
Crossed off without buying: I can’t actually think of anything. Usually items I consider but decide against happen because I’ve dug into the ingredients and there’s something in there I’m allergic to (e.g., Tom Ford lipsticks). Those things just drop right off my wishlist and I don’t even get disappointed, really. Makeup is not worth the allergic reaction.
Your skin tone/coloring: NC15
Last product you bought on a whim? MAC eyeshadow x 15 palette in warm neutral. I have more neutral eye shadows than I could ever need but saw that in store one day and had to have it. I like it a lot.
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Probably the Makeup Forever neutral palette that just came out (again too many neutrals lol). Still debating on the one with brighter colors. Also, Urban Decay blush in Score and Clinique cheek pop in pansy pop. Love score and still waiting to get pansy pop in the mail, but if it’s as good as the other ones I’ll love it.
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? I don’t really cross a lot of things off my list lol. I don’t ever buy anything that’s incredibly expensive and I do a lot of research, so if I see it and it gets good reviews I usually buy it.
Colouring: Blonde, blue eyes, very fair complexion with neutral to golden undertones
Whim product: Maybelline Illegal Length waterproof formula
Bought at long last: A Shiseido eyelash curler.
Been meaning to buy forever, but probably never will: Guerlain Météorites (loose)
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with yellow undertones
Last product you bought on a whim? Colour pop lipsticks/lippie sticks
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? Morphe 35C Palette. I hope I like this, it’ll be here sometime this upcoming week. It has my favorite type of shadows in there (color wise! and I do love matte :~) )
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? I just crossed a few things off my wish list but can’t remember what they were haha. One item was definitely the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu. I still want it but I have enough dark lipsticks.. I was able to control myself and ordered more “Summer appropriate” colors in my Colour pop order.
Your skin tone/coloring: Medium neutral leaning warm. Dark brown hair and amber eyes
Last product you bought on a whim? Too Faced Neutral Matte and Too Faced Melted Chihuahua
Last product you debated over forever but finally bought? It Cosmetics CC Cream (Over a year ago I finally bought it and now it is so HG I barely use any other foundations and have actually used up over 4 of them!
Last product you wanted but finally crossed off your wish list (without buying!)? Kat Von D Contour Kit. I have the Anastasia, It Cosmetics and the NYX and maybe I’ll buy it one day, but not until I use up what I have. Four contour kits is a little crazy, even if I am a Makeup Artist. The NYX one is the one I like the best, though I love the portability of the Anastasia one (they’re in my Z Palette right now)
