Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? Probably PML Divine Rose II Mothership Palette! Although, per oz, possibly CT Bejeweled Palette?

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year?: I can’t recall anything particularly indulgent. Skincare here and there, but nothing too pricey.

Product type you always go for the affordable version of?: Hand creams. I swear by the Eucerin oatmeal lotion which I find for $8.

Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips?: Smith’s Strawberry Lip Balm. I’ve gone through so many of these! It stays forever and makes my lips feel so great.

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? blame Dior – probably the Dior 5 pan shadows (2 of them) or the Airflash primer spray
Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Does nail polish remover count? In all honesty, with pretty much everything, I’m equally happy to use affordable and expensive items equally, assuming the quality of both is good
Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? a combo of Fresh Lip Scrub followed by the BITE Beauty balm (the original) in the impossible tube! (I use a bodkin to dig it out)

Your skin tone/colouring: Light medium, yellow undertones. Dark brown hair & eyes.

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? I bought 4 Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks with the custom cases!

Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Goodness knows I love a bargain and great value but I’m not one to hesitate on luxe products either if it’s something I REALLY want, but a bargain blush never hurt. I’m picky about texture and finish on highlighter, bronzer and you will pry the Wayne Goss #11 and #14 brushes from my cold, dead hands but a cheap and cheerful blush formula usually gets a thumbs up from me.

Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? I’ve not had chapped lips ONCE since I started using Laniege lip sleeping masks. For soothing actual chap, the Nivea stick balm in the blue tube.

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? Somehow, all my skincare and body care is indulgent for me, because I always pick products I enjoy formula and texture wise. I don’t buy luxury products, so I don’t indulge in that way.
If I were to think of something, I would say I indulged when I purchased the Drunk Elephant set with all their body care and skincare products; but then I went back to my Paula’s Choice routine. 😅

Product type you always go for the affordable version of? I almost never go affordable; I don’t buy luxury items, but I purchase from the higher end of the mid-tear. I like to invest in my skincare and body are, I want the best experience even from my cleanser or body wash.
If I go affordable with something, it’s usually hair styling products (since I don’t use them too much) and mascaras (not picky about it).

Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? Paula’s Choice Lipscreen, reliable both during the day (because of the SPF) and the night (soothing and hydrating)

Your skin tone/coloring: Pale, yellow; dark hair, blue eyes

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? Chanel perfume, personalized lipstick at the Bite Beauty Lip Lab. Both were pre-Covid.

Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Mascara for sure. I have definitely liked some higher end mascaras, especially Lancome, but I generally like drugstore mascaras equally.

Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? Laneige lip sleeping mask has been a savior for me for the past couple of years.

Your skin tone/coloring: Below my name

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? Not a product but a service. I went to the dermatologist and had Botox and fillers.

Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Eyebrow products. Nyx and elf work as well as any of the more expensive ones I have tried.

Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? I have not had chapped lips in awhile. Supergoop Lip Balm by day and the old version of Bite Agave Lip Mask by night are keeping my lips in pretty good condition.

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? All of them felt really indulgent given the circumstances.
Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Skincare. I’m really happy with my Ordinary, Paula’s Choice, and inexpensive K beauty routine and don’t want to get accustomed to only slightly more effective products that cost several times as much.
Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? Bite original Agave masque.

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? 5 Sonia G brushes (sight unseen – I was terrified with the price!) and 2 Pat McGrath palettes on one of the sales (Midnight Sun and Divine Rose which I thought would be beautiful together) and a few Tom Ford palettes on one of the large department store sales. Ended up happy with everything as I relied on your reviews to steer me Christine! 🙂
Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Moisturizer, body lotion and chapstick
Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? Carmex!

Lori Avatar

Skin Tone? Super light in the winter.
Most indulgent beauty purchase? Yikes. I spent too much on beauty and skincare this year. Boredom will do that! I love Colleen Rothschild skincare and hair products so I’ll say that. Her hair mask is divine as is the cleansing balm for my super dry rosacea prone skin. I also purchased the Chantecaille facial massager. I don’t know if there’s long term benefit, but I love using it.
Affordable product type you go for? I love my L’Oréal mascaras far better than any expensive ones I’ve purchased.
Reliable lip balm? I am loving Dr. Lucas Paw Paw Ointment!

– Your skin tone/coloring:

Warm yellow light to medium & brown eyes

– Most indulgent beauty purchase this year?

Tripollar stop vx

– Product type you always go for the affordable version of?

Any products honestly, I don’t personally believe higher price tag means higher quality
If anything I would never pay even the product is better, that’s probably … nail paint? I usually only wear them on the beach for a day or two before I remove them so I figured I don’t need something super fancy.

– Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips?

Lanolips!

Your skin tone/coloring: Pale/fair neutral with artificially blonde highlights over naturally dishwater blonde hair, turquoise eyes
Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? that would be a toss up between some of the pricier Paula’s Choice vitamin C booster and some Guerlain ballz with a pretty little bee on the bucket which I purchased on the secondary market but I do not regret either of those because the vitamin C 25% has made a remarkable difference in my skin clarity and the meterorites are the most beautiful skin enhancing but subtle addition to the complexion. Not that it really matters since it is all under a mask but I feel pretty…
Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Honestly, that would be almost everything as I feel I really hunt down the best price and buy on the secondary market or shop sales when I can but I see little need to go luxury brand for things like cleanser, mascara, and even eyeliner but I do dabble occasionally with high end stuff although I stick to samples and do not get full size unless I am really impressed. And my low budget mascaras out perform all the luxury ones. I guess I am cheap at heart but I feel that by shopping the best deals, I can experiment with more things.
Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? Trippy Lips balm. It has CBD actives (it won’t get you high) and comes in tasty flavors like Cotton Candy and Blueberry Kush. I turned my friend onto this brand too and we both love it. Their brownie balm also is very good for moisturizing the dry hands and elbows and has active CBD too so it helps with back pain and muscle soreness.

Your skin tone/coloring: NC20ish, with beige, yellow, olive and slightly peach undertones. Dark hair & eyes

Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? PMG Luxetrance Pink Ultraness. Definitely indulgent bc I already have a dupe in NARS Stefania, but prefer the PMG formula for brighter lips AND bc it was bought during masking times, when I’m not wearing much makeup anyway.

Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Mascara but these days, most things I buy are from the drugstore.

Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? Cerave Healing Ointment, applied liberally after wetting lips with water (trap water with an occlusive balm that contains hyaluronic acid). I also like the original Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask but I wish a fragrance/flavor free version was offered

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool toned.
Most indulgent beauty purchase this year? PMG Celestial Divinity palette
Product type you always go for the affordable version of? Mascara, and mascara primers. Even though my favorite is Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes I won’t pay full price for it so if I run out and I haven’t found a deal to restock my stash, I’m perfectly fine with my 2nd choice (L’Oreal Voluminous or Rimmel) until I find it on sale again.
Most reliable lip balm for chapped lips? I don’t remember the last time I had chapped lips, but I use Laneige lip sleeping mask to moisturize at night and whatever random lip balm is in my pocket during the day.
