Last product you finished? Lancôme Grandiôse Mascara
Last product you rediscovered? An Essence lipstick called All About Cupcake! It’s the perfect pale pinky coral for spring and it goes on really nicely for such a nice shade.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Hmm… I tend to not give in to the hype anymore. I rarely buy limited edition products unless I’m sure I’ll like them. I try to test/get samples before I make a purchase. So I think I’ll have to say ColourPop eyeshadows. They’re not bad, don’t get me wrong, but they’re a pain to apply and blend for me and I didn’t expect that. The Lippie Stix I tried were also not all that great – I got a nice one and one that looks like chalk.

Ray Avatar

Essence is such a great brand! I’m a huge fan of their blushes. I’m planning on trying some of their nude lipsticks once I work through my current stash.

If you want to give the ColourPop eye shadows another go, try packing on an eye primer first. Like, use way more than you usually need. The primer will crease initially, but you’ll sweep that away when you apply the shadow with a brush. I’ve used the NYX HD base and UD’s Primer Potion this way and it makes a huge difference .

Lulle Avatar

Hmm I’ll try! I always use them on top of primer, because they crease within an hour if I don’t, but I haven’t tried using more primer than usual. Does it help with blending? That’s really my number one issue with them. I can get true-to-pan intense but they don’t want to blend into each other.

Ray Avatar

Yeah, it helps with blending to over-do it with a slippery type primer. More precisely, using the primer allows you more control over how much product you’re putting down so you can make it more sheer in your overlap/blended areas.

Last product you finished? I think it was my CG Clump Crusher mascara, was trying something new (it was ok) and I toss my mascara at the end of every month. I am happily back to Lash Blast Volume now.
Last product you rediscovered? Stila Smudge Sticks- I was on a UD 24/7 kick for a while
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Tarte Rainforest of the Sea eye palette, ABH #23 Brush, It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye

Ray Avatar

I’m not the original commenter, but I didn’t like Bye Bye Undereye either. It doesn’t have any corrective qualities and it’s incredibly thick. you really need to drag it a lot to get it to blend, to the extent that I feel it would disrupt any corrector you put over it. And because you’re pulling your skin so much to blend it out, it gets into every little crease and fine line.

KJH Avatar

Me either, though I do use it corrector, though with decreasing frequency. Bought lt med, and it was a warm, but grayish shade, just wrong. The texture was like slip clay, goopy. Diff. to blend, did not warm up, the way most concealers do. Did not set right, and never works with face base.

Julia Avatar

Like Ray, I find it *extremely* thick. I tried kneading the tube, didn’t help. It reminds me of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay concealer (similar tube) which I didn’t care for either. So I have to carefully pat it around for a really long time to get it to spread out thinly. It’s also kind of tacky in texture. To its credit, it is very pigmented. I kind of think it would better serve as a blemish concealer, maybe.

Nicole Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: NC-15 (I got matched at MAC, finally. I have a number!)

Last product you finished? -Does mascara count? If it does then the Kevyn Aucoin The Volumizing Mascara. Also, I don’t know if I can count it yet, but I hit pan on my Besame Cashmere Powder Foundation in Light. Not hard to do since it’s pretty small, but it’ll probably be gone soon.

Last product you rediscovered? I can’t think of anything.

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Not a specific product, but color correctors in general. I have a few in my collection because I do have under eye darkness and redness, but I honestly feel like they’re impossible to use (even the lightest shades) because they corrupt the color of whatever I put on my skin over them, regardless of how they’re applied. Maybe I’m just using them wrong, but for the most part they haven’t worked for me. I do have a lilac color correcting powder from Blackbird Cosmetics that I used the other day on my under eye circles after concealer and that did seem to brighten and look nice, but that was only one time so I don’t know for sure.

Last product you finished? Bonne Belle Dr. Pepper Chapstick and Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream
Last product you rediscovered? Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Clarins Instant Light Lip balm Perfector and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (regular and waterproof….regular flaked on me so tried the waterproof and I didnt think it made my lashes look as good as I remembered the original making them)

Kris Aleli Avatar

Yes!! Too Faced mascara, the worse part is that i gave the whole tube a chance! I shoud’ve returned it as soon as i used it and disliked it. Its a complete waste of money and it may only have worked for people with curly hair. I could boldy say that its the worsr mascara ive tried.

Lauren Avatar

you’re so right. and i think especially so with mascara. everyone’s lashes are different so there are many that are raved about that I’ve tried and think are just the same as my fave drugstore ones and others that I try that I don’t hear much about that are the bomb. I typically find that drugstore ones are some of my fave (mainly covergirl and maybelline) but I got a 100 point perk of the Givenchy PhenomenEyes and I loved it so much I bought a full size!

Diane Avatar

yes exactly , but i’m agreed the too faced can be clumpy but as i have thin eyelashes it’s fine for me 🙂 so yeah especially with mascara is totally different !

Last product you finished? a tightlining staple- Hourglass mechanical pencil
Last product you rediscovered? Tom Ford foundation stick in Fawn
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? every foundation I have purchased in the last year. A few of them are nice, but none of them are special. I seem to have a run on the new ones for a few weeks until I get a really good feel for what they lack and then disenchanted I gravitate back to ones I have had around longer.

Shana Avatar

Have you tried the Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance foundation ?
It’s my HG, I really love it, and it’s my favourite foundation among those I tried in the past.
I have combination skin with oily T-zone.
I discovered this foundation on the beautyprofessor, she said that it’s one of her favourites, and I agree with her, it’s really beautiful and comfortable on me.

Wednesday Avatar

Hi there Shana: No, I actually haven’t. Love that Rachel reviews so many foundations and provides great swatches, but she is not in the least bit critical. I am, unfortunately, and super fussy too so her blog can be a bit frustrating for me . I have maturing skin (so probably drier than yours) with difficult to match olive and yellow tones and I see Kanebo is Japanese.. it could be a possibility. I tend to fall more easily into Asian skintones even though I am Caucasian. I will definitely take a look around my usual haunts to see swatches and see if it might be an option for me. Thanks! 🙂

Shana Avatar

Hi Wwendy,
It’s cream, it did reformilared 1-2 years ago, I didn’t know the old version but I find the new version is prefect on me.
It’s not drying at all, and has a light dewy finish, I like the fact that it hasn’t a powdery finish, i like to use a brush to apply a 1st layer and then dab a 2nd layer with the beauty blender.
I have oily t-zone and elsewhere my skin is dry to normal, maybe you’ll like it ! 🙂

Last product you finished? Kevin Murphy Angel Wash and Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub (finished both the same day)

Last product you rediscovered? Can’t think of anything. Superb products I always hang onto. If a product is so-so or fails for me I pass it on.

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? The reformulated Chanel nail polish. It is literally the worst polish I have ever used in my life.

Nicole Avatar

Thank you so much for the link, Michele! I absolutely get that-I feel the same way. Reading your review it actually sounds a lot like the Burberry nail polish I tried just recently: awkward brush, very thin formula that didn’t apply well. You’d think that these companies would know enough to get the brush and formula right.

Ray Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Light and cool

Last product you finished? I recently used up a Derma E toner mist. I liked it but I’m not sure I’ll repurchase. I’m currently using the moisturizer from the same line so I’m probably good on that count. I’m about 3 “nights out” away from finishing my Revlon balm stain in Smitten.

Last product you rediscovered? The balm stain in Honey. I struggle with lighter/nude lip colors because you have to work a full face of makeup around them. My normal mode of makeup is to apply a bold lip and keep everything else fairly toned down. I’ve finally figured out a good way to balance my makeup around a lighter lip product.

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Not overhyped, but definitely a bit pointless and overpriced: I dug an Ulta brand mineral blush out of the clearance bin for $2. It’s more glittery than pigmented (which I don’t mind; I’ll keep wearing it to work and other places where I don’t really care) but yeeeeeesh it’s sooooo not worth the $12 original price.

Justine Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: porcelain ,with neutral to cool undertones
Last product you finished? Sephora matte compact powder (a discontinued shade) and a Boscia sunscreen (also discontinued).
Last product you rediscovered? My Mac eyeshadow singles in a Z palette. Ive been using pre made palettes but have been really enjoying making my own combinations. Time to bring out the Inglot singles!
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette. It’s not peach enough and I don’t find it to be that unique, other than the cute packaging. I have a enough Inglot peachy singles to create a better one!

Stephanie Avatar

Coloring: light skin, neutral-ish undertone, brown hair, brown eyes

Last product I finished: all my sample-size tubes of Too Faced Shadow Insurance (my favorite eye primer)

Last product I rediscovered: UD Urban Spectrum palette. I am trying to use different palettes every week, so I hadn’t touched this in a while and I almost forgot how much fun it is to work with!

Last product I bought that was overhyped: IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It’s not bad, but it’s nothing spectacular on my skin. You might also put the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette in this category, even though I really like it.

• NC44.5 to NC45 & C7

♥ Last product you finished?
• MAC Prep + Prime Fix+

♥ Last product you rediscovered?
• CoverGirl ‘Queen Collection’ Lasting Matte Pressed Powder
❝ I hadn’t used it in a very long while. It had sunken to the bottom of one of my prior handbags, so I’d forgotten about its existence. I found it a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been using it consistently. I love this powder! ❞

♥ Last product you bought but felt was overhyped?
• Lip Kit by Kylie
❝ The lip pencil is great, but the liquid lipstick is just, OK. It’s definitely not God’s gift to lips; especially at that price tag. ❞

chris Avatar

I love Queen’s Pressed Powder. I have about five all over the house, stash and in the car. As soon as I hit pan, I have to buy another one. I do wish they came with another type of puff. I just use a MAC brush or puff. I just introduced a girlfriend to the liquid foundation, pressed powder and Ebony Bronzer (to use as a contour powder). I can’t say enough about the products.

Momo Avatar

I often discard the puff that comes with the compact. I sometimes use a brush to apply the powder, but I mostly use a wedged sponge. I still need to try other Queen Collection products. I’ve only ever used the pressed powder.

Carolyn Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Light/Medium Olive
Last product you finished? I probably still have a few days left in my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, but I hit pan months ago and it’s still going.
Last product you rediscovered? I try to shop my stash as regularly as possible so I don’t forget about great things but I can’t think of anything specific right now.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? I bought the GlamGlow lip balm and scrub and I don’t think either product is all that fantastic. They’re not bad but they’re not my favourite and definitely not worth $50!

Katherine T. Avatar

*Last product finished -small sample jar of The Body Shop Soothing Aloe Cream for Daytime. I re-purchased as a full size. It’s too light on it’s own for my dry skin, but it’s very soothing and great for layering serums/moisturizers on top
*Last product re-discovered – IT Bye Bye Pores Translucent powder (found out it goes well with my current foundation)
*Last product over-hyped -the Natasha Denona Shadows. I got Golden Rose, which is a beautiful color, but the packaging is ridiculously cheap and flimsy plastic (looks like those empty plastic DS pill boxes) and the shadow fades, even over industrial strength primer like WNW Fergie, so while pretty, not worth $29 each

Wednesday Avatar

Ugh Katherine. I love my Natasha Denona 5 pan, the colours are so perfect, but you are so right. They fade, especially the mattes, but even the shimmers just take on a more shimmery appearance with wear and then their colour gets lost as well. Fortunately they do not crease on me, but the initial application versus end of day is quite dramatic 🙁

Mariella Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair, cool-toned
Last product you finished? Too Faced Shadow Insurance (I’ve had it for ages; it lasted for ages)
Last product you rediscovered? Nars Kalahari eyeshadow duo – I’d not used it for a while and for the past few days, I’ve been wearing it daily and loving it
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – what CRAP.

Shana Avatar

Light-medium, warm

Finished : By Terry Densilis Primer, almost finished, I love it and can’t live without it now. It’s great in sweat control, with this product, my T-zone is not oily and I just don’t sweat on my face when I feel that I’m sweating on my body ! It’s just logic that my makeup stays nice with this primer.

Rediscovered : the Beautyblender. I’m using brushes to apply my foundation for a while. Now I’m using the brush for the 1 st layer of my foundation, and dab the beauty blender on my skin to add a thin 2nd layer, I like the finish it gives !

Overhyped : La Neige Pore Control Cushion. It’s my 1 st cushion, I wanted to try an authentic Korean one. I read all reviews online that I can find about it and all of them were positive. -_- But on me it’s the worst foundation I’ve ever tried !!! It’s pasty, heavy, and cakey. I used the special puff, my fingers, the beautylender, a brush, nothing worked with it. It’s staying power is very strong, I was wondering if I need a special product to remove it ! Also the smell is heavy and I don’t like this kind of smell !
I have combination skin with large pores around the T-zone, this product is suppose to be used on my kind of skin – skin with pore issues, but all it did was to fill into my pores and emphasise them ! I really regret buying this.

Erin Ortiz Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Porcelain, NW10, brown hair, green eyes
Last product you finished? Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, I used to love it but lately it seems to flake more and more on me, still love the volume it gives my lashes though.
Last product you rediscovered? Benefit Hoola Bronzer, not only as a bronzer but it’s such a good creases shade, I use it almost everyday for both.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Urban Decay Fireball eyeshadow, the swatches online make it look amazing so I finally bought it during the VIB sale and it just doesn’t perform that great on me.

Kimmwc03 Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/neutral
Last product you finished? Clinique face wash; I need to buy another one.
Last product you rediscovered? Stila smudge sticks and shadow sticks in general. I brought out my Laura Mercier chubby shadow stick when I got a free shadow stick from Mally Beauty and then I bought two shadow sticks during Bobbi Brown’s sale. I love how simple they make my eye looks on a work day.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? I avoid most overhyped products that aren’t too good thanks to blogs like this. However, I was disappointed with Giorgio Armani foundation after wanting to try it for years.

Ashleigh Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: fair redhead
Last product you finished? Tossed my Covergirl Clump Crusher out yesterday
Last product you rediscovered? NARS Habanera, I always get a lot of compliments on my eyeshadow when I use this, and I pulled it out of my stash recently and started using it again.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? I haven’t bought any hyped products in awhile with the exception of the Zoya nail polish remover which I think deserves its hype, but I just found out though that my mom hated the Nirvana Black Dry Shampoo I bought her for Christmas, and that was hyped in the vlogging community. She likes the perfume but she didn’t think the dry shampoo smelled anything like it, and the dry shampoo itself was not a good product. Disappointing!

Gillian Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Fairest neutral. Still mixing my foundation so I’m currently using Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation in 005 mixed with a good blob of Illamasqua Skin Base in SB01 (white). Lasts pretty well on my oily skin. ?

Last product you finished? MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in NW10. I love this stuff so I already have a backup! It’s a tad dark but not to the point where I can’t wear it. The coverage and finish are both awesome so I use it either as my main foundation or on top of a different one for extra coverage. It comes with me everywhere for touch ups. I loved the Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation but the two I had both broke from being carried around with me. They were just too fragile. I never bought a third, I just busted out my Studio Fix again and haven’t looked back. ?

Last product you rediscovered? Missha Signature Real Complete BB Cream in No.13 Light Milky Beige. I’d forgotten how nice a formula it is, it covers well and has a lovely, smooth finish. The fact that it doesn’t lean pink or yellow on my skin is pretty awesome too!

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? I bought two Pixi Mattelustre lipsticks, Raspberry Blush and Peach Blossom, since they were getting really good reviews. However, when I received them I was quite disappointed. Maybe I didn’t research enough but they were quite thin and never as opaque as I wanted them to be. They just seemed very ‘meh’. Maybe I expected too much since I tend to buy tried and tested high quality lipsticks that I love. I can usually spot a good formula at ninety paces and I’m rarely disappointed so this was unusual. Oh well, the colours are nice so I’ll try and make them work!

Katie Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Light/Neutral
Last product you finished? MAC “Snob” – definitely one of my favorites so I’ll have to purchase another.
Last product you rediscovered? MAC Party Parrot. I forgot how much I love that lipstick and since the weather is getting warmer I can wear my neon mattes again. 🙂 Also MAC Viva Glam II. It’s a pinky-brown and looks awesome with a tan.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Armani foundations. I have normal skin (not oily, not dry) and they look awful on me after 4 hours. Soooo not worth the price. I stick with Chanel foundations.

Katie Avatar

Yes – that’s exactly what happened to me. After about 4 hours I looked greasy and the foundation was patchy in spots! I tried both the Armani Lumious Silk & Lasting Silk and they both did the same thing. Instead my HG foundations are Chanel Perfection Lumiere in B20 & MAC Matchmaster in 2.0.

Katie Avatar

What is your MAC shade normally? Matchmaster 2.0 is like a NC25. I use it in the summer or when I apply my Tanceuticals self-tanner. Chanel B20 is like NC20 and is great for paler skin. You don’t need a primer with it either – it glides on sooo smooth and stays all day.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Katie – No clue what I’d be in MAC. It’s easily an hour and half+ to a place that even sells MAC. I normally wear Dior Forever in 010 Ivory. I don’t tan at all so my skin tone is consistent year-round. The Sephora color match puts me in a Bobbi Brown Cool Beige, Burberry Ochre No. 20, or Kat Von D Light 47 – light complexion with a neutral undertone..but I haven’t tried any of those so I don’t know if they’d match (they seem darker than Dior’s Ivory).

KJH Avatar

Prob NW25 ish. L>M, C>N.
One of 2 remaining Paula antiox serums will die tomorrow, even w/ a Swoon tool. The ultralight went a couple of weeks back. Of these, think I like ultralight and super best. Also on deathwatch are 3 clear lipliners: too faced, Sephora, and milani.
Rediscovered: Dior duo blush in modulations of blue. Cool and springy. Purpler side has heavy pan, pink side not so much.
Overhyped: some hype, but many lousy customer reviews: touch in sol colored liners. Just read t, order the cp, and be done with it! Drop dead terrible. And that Milani clear liner got lots of hype, but it melts in the summer! So when my house is 60, it’s fine, but not useable after mid May. Def no for you southwestern women, or prob anywhere the temp runs 75 or over.

Anne Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: NC15, hella pale with some redness/rosacea

Last product you finished? First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

Last product you rediscovered? Lush’s Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. It seems like a luxury, but it’s great for skin that’s dry due to topical pain relievers and for people who have nerve issues so can’t really physically apply moisturizer and work it in to the skin. When I have bad pain days but also really dry skin I can just throw this on in the shower, rinse off and it’s bye-bye dryness.

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Hmmm, I don’t really buy products without either testing them out in store, asking for a sample, etc. I don’t think there’s been anything, at least that I can remember.

Dee Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair/Light
Last product you finished? Guerlaine mascara
Last product you rediscovered? YBF (Your Best Friend) primer.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Diorshow mascara. I had heard about it on a few blogs and then I saw a makeup artist that I like rave about using it for clients. Usually a big round applicator is good for thickening, but something about this causes my lashes to stick together so that they look sparse and thin. I actually have nice lashes and can get away with a light formula that just colors them, but this stuff actually made them look bad. I tried it was a few different primers and it still looked horrible.

Kat Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: fair warm, auburn hair and hazel-brown eyes

Last product you finished? Makeup – MAC Studio Fix Fluid or Maybelline Age Rewind concealer (I can’t remember which), Skincare, Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil

Last product you rediscovered? I’ve been trying to cycle through my stash, put to use some products I haven’t been using, so I’ve got a bunch! The one that comes to mind is the Sephora Microsmooth Baked Bronzer in Honey Heat 01! It’s really lovely and very pigmented!

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? I’m sure there’s a lot of them, but the one that sticks out most in my mind is either Naked palettes 1 and 3, and the ABH Contour Palette. I’m still glad I bought the ABH one because Fawn is my favorite contour powder, and they weren’t sold as singles yet, but if I would prefer to have only bought that one shade.

Fish gut bacteria! Can you imagine what the fish might be like, being cut off for so long? Can’t you hear them touting the latest in probiotics? Extracted from the purest Antarctic waters! Unsullied by earth development…. I love the idea of isolated untouchable, fragile places. The aerial pic is highly informative, for those of us (most of us) with no idea about such a hidden gem.

Rachel R. Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones (N10-N13); magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.

Last product you finished? All about the same time: Mirabella Prime For Face and Eyes, L’oreal Lash Boosting Serum, and Physician’s Formula Sexy Booster Cat Eye Mascara. The mascara was not completely gone, but it hit four months old and was starting to go clumpy. That’s always my cue to toss a mascara.

Last product you rediscovered? The Balm Balm Jovi Palette. A makeup challenge group I’m in mentioned it, and I was inspired to use it again. I’d forgotten how much I’d liked it.

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Probably the Too Face Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette. It’s a great palette, and I really, really love it. But I do think it was overhyped considering the niche appeal of the shades, mostly due to the (insanely cute) packaging.

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral
Last product you finished? Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion
Last product you rediscovered? It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Hmm, I think I might have to go with the ColourPop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks. They ARE good but for some reason they all turn partially hot pink on me. It’s odd. They do leave a hot pink stain behind but, not only that, the inside rim of my lip always forms a ring and turns hot pink. It’s like they don’t mix with my biochemistry. 🙁

Fair-light/ Cool-Neutral Undertones. NW/NC-20, CoverFX N20, Bobbi Brown Sand, MUFE 117.

1. Finished Bobbi Brown’s “Long-wear even finish compact foundation.”
2. Rediscovered why i used to always apply Lancome Clis Booster XL Mascara Primer before any mascara for both the immediate appearance/effect and ease of removal at the end of the day.
3. I actually recently purchased Christine’s favorite Guerlain “lingerie de peau” and the meteorite pearls during the Sephora VIB sale. I still have a lot more time I need testing it out and playing with it, but so far the foundation i wear is in the lightest shade and unfortunately i find it oxidizes quite bad for a high end foundation although I have to admit the finish is so beautiful. I’m also not sure how much I love the pearls either. My go-to finishing powder has been the burberry nude powder (sheer luminous). So far the two times I’ve worn it I haven’t been wowed. Again, I still have a lot of playing I need to do with it, but any suggestions on preferred methods and combos for either of those Guerlain products would be welcomed.

Last product you finished? Neutrogena Hydro Water/Gel. I have never regularly worn moisturizer with my acne, oily skin. But at 48, I thought is was really time. I love this product. It now comes in a pump tube.

Last product you rediscovered? I am changing out to Spring/Summer Lippies. MAC Jest Lipstick. It is a frosty orange with a hint of iridescence. Today, I paired it with a Milani coral blush and BECCA Topaz highlighter. Nice glow.

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Better Than Sex Mascara. I tried and tried to work with it. I am currently using my They’re Real or Miss Manga.

Last product you rediscovered? MakeUp Academy’s Undress Me Too palette & Sleek’s Oh So Special palette.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Errr Nars Orgasm… I love the color and it’s really pretty, but unless I have a very good skin day, I feel it really emphasizes my already huge pores in a really ugly way lol. I also got caught up in the Oh Darling hype pretty badly quite a while back now. It’s gorgeous to look at and swatch, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually used it…

Last product you finished? Skincare mostly: Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator and Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle Cream.

Last product you rediscovered? L’Oreal Infallible Matte Gloss. Forgot how awesome these liquid lipsticks are!

Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Wet n Wild Fergie eye primer. I finally got out the tube I had and tried it (they discontinued this one and replaced it with another primer in their line-up). Everyone raves about it, but I had the same trouble as every other eye primer I’ve tried: I can’t blend my eyeshadows and they all get patchy. I have better luck using a concealer as a primer; I think I’m just going to keep doing that!

Last product finished: Tarte gifted mascara
Last product rediscovered: makeup forever smoothing primer. I keep trying mattifying ones, but find this one does a better job at that then most.
Overhyped product: The Violet Voss holy grail palette! I definitely don’t recommend it for the price. It’s not the worst eyeshadow, but it’s a lower quality eyeshadow and packaging, and not worth its current price point (in my opinion).

Skin Tone: Neutral/Cool & Fair, that being on a
Light Fair Medium Deep shade scale.
Last product I finished & ….need to restock ASAP!?
Benefit “Watts Up” with “Light Beam” (again by Benefit, just in case) highlighters, coming in a close second… Watts Up would actually be an honest for product I rediscovered as well, got it as a free gift that I never used until strobing became more mainstream. Glad I did. Overhyped product…? Uhhh would have to be…
tarte’s new, “Rainforest of the Sea-Water Foundation”, definitely will stick to Chanel’s vita lumiere Aqua or Estee Lauder’s “Invisible Fluid Makeup” foundation. On a positive note I also purchased tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea “aquacealer concealer”. Which I give a whoppin’ ten. Love the texture, coverage, finish, & application.

Last product you finished? Laneige BB, fair, ‘broad spectrum’, spf 50. this stuff works really well for me. nice these come with replacements.
Last product you rediscovered? Clarins eyeshadow palette, ‘instant sun light’. bought in Germany a few years back, in a crunch situation (luggage didn’t make it). there’s a light, warm, golden brown with just-right degree of shimmer I find I’m using a lot these days.
Last product you bought but felt was overhyped? Chanel Joues Contrast, in rose ecrin. Absolutely no lasting power on me — have to use a strong brush, use a lot of product, and still lasts like only a couple of hours. Whereas Laura Geller baked and Clinique pop cheek products last all day long on me (esp. LG)
