Surratt Beauty Duchesse Artistique Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Surratt Beauty Duchesse Artistique Blush
Surratt Beauty Duchesse Artistique Blush ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as a “soft peach.” It’s a light-medium, warm-toned peach with a satin finish. Sisley Paris Mango (3) (P, $85.00) is darker. Sleek MakeUP The Surf (P) is a cream product, pinker. MAC Stereo Rose (2014) (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery, darker. NARS Sex Appeal (P, $29.00) is more matte. Le Metier de Beaute Whisper (P, $30.00) is slightly more beige, more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
As it is such a light shade, it’s one that shows up best on very fair skin tones, as it is very subtle on my medium complexion, but it doesn’t turn chalky or ashy on me, and the finish gives a lift and subtle warmth to the skin that’s effortless. It really does have good color payoff, but it’s a lighter shade, so it may be harder to see against my skin tone. There’s a very natural sheen that’s not shimmery, but it’s not totally matte either. The powder has a soft, silky texture that almost feels like a cream product, because it has such a buttery, smooth feel that never turns powdery. This shade lasted for almost eight hours on me before fading.

I actually like this on you as is. It’s a great foil to bright liner or really over the top lips while still giving you soft color and shine. It’s a very warm color but I might even try it. I think my nearest counter is about 40 minutes away, so it might be a while before I swatch.
I think it is very workable even on those who tend to gravitate towards cooler blushes!
Beautiful and very natural on you. Serratt seems to be quite a good brand, and another we I can’t buy.
Surratt* I hate my fingers sometimes, and why don’t I proof read??? Sorry!
Thank you, Helene!
Not really about the blush, but I love your look in that photo! Especially the eye makeup!
Aw, thanks 🙂
It is a pretty shade! I could see using it as a highlight.
Definitely could see it used that way on some!
Whoah, your eye makeup looks stunning!
Thank you!
Christine, thanks for reviewing the Surratt line! I’ve been most intrigued but no access. This one looks like a good highlighter shade, don’t you think? Do you have any other items from Surratt coming up for reviews?
No problem, Claire! Possibly, depending on your skin tone and if you prefer very subtle highlighters – if you want a true highlighter, than Aureole is your best bet in the Surratt range!
Hard to say – I have other things I hope to review, but I couldn’t tell you when!
I feel like this would look gorgeous on you as an all over setting powder, somewhere along the lines of the Houseglass Ambient Lighting powders! Give it a go 😀
Woops, *HOURglass!
Definitely doesn’t work for me in that fashion – too pigmented and makes me look orange! You would need a powder that’s designed to be translucent, like the Amber Lighting Powders, not a pigmented blush 🙂
oh my bad! i think it just blends in with your skintone so well, i thought it was sheer 😀 stupid of me hehe
No worries 🙂 It might work if you were one or two steps darker than me, though!
Works really well on you
Thanks, Bronwyn!
Your entire look is beautiful! I love the eyes and the blush is a really great pairing. Very soft and natural!
Thanks so much, Fancie!
Your reviews on the Surratt line make me want to get THEM ALL! This looks so beautiful and natural on you! Two questions though: Is it similar to MUG Smitten? Also, it’s supposed to be packaged to live in a palette. Is the back metal (so it would stick in a Z-palette)? Thank you!!!
I believe the back is metal!
know what? This is an area totally not covered in the monster blush stash.. I’m a shade or two lighter than you but with different undertones leaning more neutral yellow/green…like very pale yellow olive. Everything peach looks so great on you. Would love to try this but wonder ..hmmm… could be good, could be really bad 😀
LOL! Really good or really bad… risky!
I love your makeup look here! 🙂
Thanks, Jade! 😀
Your eye makeup looks beautiful!
Thanks a lot, Angellina!
Hi Christine, just wondering where we can purchase Surratt products? Each time you’ve reviewed one of these blushes, I’ve clicked on the “Where to Buy” button but there’s never anything provided. Any leads for girls in Canada and the US? Thanks!! Btw, LOVE the lower liner colour you have on in this look – you look beautiful!
Barneys for US! Not sure if there is a Canadian retailer.
Surrat can do no wrong. (Better=charge less $ 🙂 )
Would be nice if the line was about 20% less!
I feel like most of the shades (of blush) that I’ve seen so far from this brand have been super duper light and barely show up. Pretty in the pan tho!
They’re definitely a lighter-leaning shade range, but there are some deeper shades, too.
1. I really, really need to get a hold of this brand. Like, yesterday. Damn!
2. The EYELINER and the DRESS, and the EARRINGS, augh! <3_<3
Aww! 🙂
Christine !! my gosh i have to say your eyeliner & lip color is very awesome on you, what eyeliner is that ?
Thanks, Melissa! It’s linked under “Makeup Look!”
That is so subtle and beautiful!
Glad ya liked it, Sarah!
You look stunning here! <3 Seriously! 😀
Would this appear more like a highlighter on an NC37/40?
Kind of, but barely, since there isn’t a lot of shimmer/sheen!
That’s a great photo; nice makeup and outfit combo!
Thank you, CKG!
