Sugarpill @#$%! Eyeshadow & Asteria ChromaLust Review, Photos, Swatches

Sugarpill @#$%! Eyeshadow
Sugarpill @#$%! Eyeshadow

Sugarpill @#$%! (Red) Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “vampy pearl red with silver metallic sheen.” It’s a bold, slightly blue-based red with silver shimmer. The color payoff is incredibly rich and decadent–true-to-pan, vibrant, and totally opaque. It can stain the skin, though. Sugarpill Love+ is not as blue-based, matte. Make Up For Ever #99 is matte. Make Up For Ever #158 is darker. Inglot #382 is matte. See comparison swatches.

Asteria ChromaLust Loose Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.19 oz.) is described as a “brilliant, metallic golden coral.” It’s a warm-toned, coppery orange with a frosted, metallic finish. Applied dry, it’s semi-sheer, and then applied damp, it’s opaque and deeper. The texture is very, very finely-milled.  On the lid, it wears well for nearly eight hours and shows some signs of fading just before nine hours of wear.  NARS California is browner, darker. MAC Double Feature #8 #1 is more muted. MAC Star Myth is browner. MAC Hot Paprika is less shimmery. MAC Brash is slightly darker, browner. See comparison swatches.

Both shades are limited edition and have been difficult to secure unless you’ve been a regular at the local trade shows and expos, and now, for a mere thirteen hours, both will be available for purchase online. Sugarpill will also be offering their 12-color pro palette (10% off, making it $90) and expo editions of their Burning Heart, Heart Breaker, and Sweetheart palettes (10% off, making them $30.60). All of these items go up for sale July 24th at 11AM PST.  You can preview the sale here.

I’ve heard some people call it the C-word.. which seems like a pretty extreme guess to me haha. And I heard Amy call it At-number-dollar-percent. Who knows. I usually just call it “that limited edition one” or “the reddish-pink glittery one”

I was interested in Asteria originally but I accidentally recreated a color close to it with a couple of OCC Loose Colour Concentrates (Authentic and Flawed I believe). It’s a lovely color but my strong desire to have it has lessened. I might try to snag a pro palette though. If I knew for sure that they would be at The Makeup Show Orlando I would wait but I don’t want to risk it.

So annoyed! I sat at the site to order the LE palette and from the time it took to put it in my cart and submit the “checkout” I got a message telling me that it sold out. If they really only had a handful what was the point of putting it on their site? At this point, I think I am just going to boycott Sugarpill. Their products are never available for purchase.

The same thing happened to me too. I noticed that the pro palette kept jumping in and out of my cart and so I never clicked the “update cart” when it prompted me to empty the palette out of my cart. I ended up clicking on purchase at a lucky moment because I finished my order 10-15 minutes after the online expo shop went up 🙂

They did say that the pro palette will be available for purchase in November on their site, so it sounds like it will be a perm. product soon.

They emphasized it was a limited stock flash sale and I thought it was generous of them to put up the leftover stock for those who couldn’t attend PHAMExpo or IMATS. It’ll be available in November along with other palettes coming out in August and there are other websites that sell their products.

Oh I <3 you for reviewing these!! I literally just bought them! I got an email about the sale last night, was so excited. I forgot about it until 11:40 AM though and missed the Pro Palette (:c) $90 is a lot more than I wanted to spend anyway, I guess. At least I got @#$%! and Asteria x2. ^_^

I’m drooling over the copper one. I have dark auburn hair and medium-brown eyes – I kinda think this color would look good on me! Love that it’s vegan, too! Thanks for your awesome review, love this site!
