It’s weird UD sticks with turquoise, royal blues, greens… Tarte sticks with mauves and plums, and too faced sticks with this kind of color for holidays

Christine, as you post reviews of Too Faced’s holiday palettes, I will be interested to see the closest dupes to other TF shades. You’ve remarked before on the similarity among their offerings, and I am really seeing it after only my 2nd year of interest in the brand. Maybe I will change my mind when I see these palettes in the store, but for now I doubt I’ll be able to justify buying any.

Christine Avatar

Not really – I get that I’m not their customer as I already own multiple palettes and plenty of shades, so it is going to be tough to ever introduce something innovative in a palette to me. I can appreciate that there are people entering the beauty community at all times – those who have never bought a palette before, those just building up their palettes, and those returning after having ignored the industry for years. Just like dupes, there are plenty of reasons why people prefer certain brands over others. Someone might have skipped last year’s holiday palette for whatever reason and might be excited that they can get something similar this year.

I have this and I really like it. I do agree that Too Faced puts out very similar holiday sets with very similar colors each year, (and in their ‘special’ sets) but- I haven’t purchased a holiday set from them for myself since 2014, so I didn’t seem to have too many duplicate shades.

The 4 ‘foiled’ shadows in this palette are worth the price alone. Banana Cream and Honey Lavender are my go to’s for the lid. They’re super close dupes to the Nars shadows that released recently.

This looks just like the new Lorac mega palette. As in, several probably very close dupes. Less costly — though smaller, so it should be — and somewhat better looking in the swatches though as with the Lorac palettes, many of the mattes look a tad dusty to my eye. Both have elements that remind me of ABH Mod. Renaissance. So yes, I guess they are all starting to look alike to me.

This one looks the nicest to me out of all of Too Faced’s various holiday palette offerings this year. I would guess this will be the best performing just based on swatches alone. Too bad about Mint Chocolate though, it’s the prettiest shade and it’s a dud.

Ditto…thought this one came out best so far, and mint choc doesn’t fare well. Plus, how unoriginal of me, I would have liked to see a light chocolate with green flecks or vice versa, just based on the name. I haven’t done tf for myself for quite a while, though this looks to be the best tf gift so far. But, yes, I am stifling a yawn

I have this pallette, and I love it! I’m able to use every shade in this including purple, which is nice for someone addicted to brown eyeshadow. So many of their pallettes are hit or miss, but I just had to take a chance on this one (I hated PB & J and Totally Cute).

Some really nice colours for me but I would wish they make matte palettes and shimmer palettes. I Do not use matte eyeshadows and there Are so much of them. I think there Are a lot of People who Prefer mattes or shimmers so it would make sense to make palettes with only one Finish.

This palette looks way better than the Grand Hotel Cafe mini palettes. I was disappointed with the inconsistency and ended up returning it. Hmmm, wondering if I should check this one out (in person this time! Lol) the colors look more my “type” anyhow

The quality looks good. Even though it’s mostly neutrals, I only have two real dupes. I’m not in the market for a palette like this, but as palettes like this go, I think it’s a nice one. I’m not gong to get it, but the swatches look like an improvement over what we’ve been seeing from Too-Faced.
