Sneak Peek: Tom Ford Soleil Summer Collection Photos & Swatches

Tom Ford Soleil Summer Collection
Tom Ford Soleil Summer Collection

Tom Ford Soleil Collection is the upcoming summer launch that is available for pre-order at Neiman Marcus and Tom Ford. (You can find the official launch info here.) As always, this is just an early look at swatches as I work through testing everything. I’ll have full reviews, photos, swatches, dupes, and all that jazz as soon as I can. I did want to point out that three of the four eye duos include repromoted Cream Colors: Golden Peach has Pink Haze, Naked Bronze has Spice, and Midnight Sea has Spring 2015 (yes, that’s the name!), and Black Oyster is new.

Thanks so much for the early swatches and the tip on the cream shadows being repromotes. Any chance you might be able to take a pic of the ingredients of the cream blush when you do the complete review of it? Thanks again!

Jill Avatar

ooohhh! Pretty. But I have a feeling I should wait for your reviews! I like the cream blush and the naked dip lip color. I will keep my fingers crossed!

Ginny Avatar

I like the pairing of the powder eye shadows with the cream. All those combos would be great layered, especially midnight sea! Makes me want to try something fun tonight 😉

Melissa Avatar

hey Christine I’m curious I pre-ordered all of the cream eyeshadow duo’s but I have all of the cream eyeshadows already do you think the top color is nice enough to order all of them?
That’s such a bummer I wish he repromoted colors that are rare like guilt and illicit.

I cannot imagine finishing one of TF’s Cream Eyeshadows (they come with so much) – I don’t think I could pay $60 for just the eyeshadow on top, A+ or not. We’ll see, but I expect they won’t be that hard to dupe. If there is a cream eyeshadow that you really like and feel like you’re making good progress through your single of it, then maybe that one?

Valerie Avatar

Oh Christine, why are you doing this to me? Everything is so pretty. I will collect all the cream eye shadows except for Golden Bronzer because I already have Spice (which I absolutely love). Patiently (well not really) waiting for your reviews. 🙂

MichelleChefNYC Avatar

OMG, my wallet is in pain already! These colors are right up my alley, and I already love his cream colors for eyes. Can’t wait for the reviews!

Eileen Avatar

I’m so glad you mentioned which cream shades in the new duos were being repromoted because it turns out I already have all three of them! Although the coordinating “celestial” shades are new, I’m not going to purchase a duo simply to get the powdered shade when I already have so much of the cream shade. I must admit, I am a bit disappointed that the only totally new cream shadow duo being offered (Black Oyster) is the only one that didn’t interest me 🙁 Oh well . . . The Pink Sand cream blush is still high on my list. TF does such gorgeous warm, golden pinks so it will be interesting to see how he interprets the cream blush concept. I’ve also got my eye on Rose Soliel and Skinny Dip. I purchased Paradiso when it was first released and loved that tropical punch color, but I like to try new things rather than repurchase. As for the bronzers, I was thrilled to learn that my beloved Terra would be available in a more travel friendly size. As much as I love it for contouring, it always stayed at home whenever I traveled because the original is simply too big. Now Terra can go with me :-). All considered, I think TF has produced the collection of the season! Sultry and sexy, it’s all sunsets and rosey gold goodness.

THANK YOU so much for posting the info about the repromotes in the cream/powder combos. I have been on the verge of ordering the ‘peach’ combo but I already have pink haze and the photos that I saw prior to yours today looked a little bit different, but not quite different enough to justify ordering it, so I’ve been sitting on the fence.

I was going to order the palette, the cream blush, and the rose soleil lip sheer, but I am kind of aggravated that Tom Ford didn’t make the information public sooner that the cream/powder combos are 1/2 recycled colors. My annoyance at this tactic has put me off the whole release, at least for today. I feel like these companies want us to buy their stuff, sight unseen, on faith, but then they don’t have the decency to tell us straight up that they are doing repromotes. Don’t get me wrong, I love pink haze, but I already have it and will probably never finish the one I already have.

Christine Avatar

All three that are repromoted are exactly the same (which is good, for consistency!) for sure. I’ll have them side-by-side (in the same photo) in the individual reviews, but I can 100% say they’re the same as far as texture, payoff, and color go. 🙂 I wish they had brought back ones like Escapade, Guilt, or Illicit, because those haven’t been out in awhile, where as Spring 2015 just released. I think it’s great for those who missed out, but like you, I think the info should be front and center – why not call the duo Goolden Peach/Pink Haze?

Cristy Avatar

Ah TF … just go ahead and take most of my beauty money for the next 2 months … ’cause I pre-ordered 8 items from this collection … i’ll be poor but at least i’ll look pretty … lol

Thanks for posting Christine!

sarah Avatar

I ordered the compact and skinny dip. I know 50 is a lot for a lip stick, but I used pink dune up last year and I feel it was a very wearable shade. Thinking about ordering the bronzer too. Which one would work on fair skin with Yello undertones?

Katherine T. Avatar

Wow, a lot of the face and eye colors run pretty warm, which is typical for a summer collection – good for my wallet! For the price, the lippies are too sheer for me, although I love the gold shimmer. And I like the looks of Pink Sand blush, but for the price, I can probably take regular cream blush and just put a gold Becca highlighter on top of it. Hmm, I already have the Spring 2015 cream shadow, which I really love – it’s versatile enough to go from sheer taupey to dramatic smokey. The new Black Oyster one looks interesting, although I would probably save it for fall/winer. Bet you will be all over that Teal shadow 😉 .

Alison Avatar

Yup, the eye duos are mostly too warm for me. And the one that isn’t is too dark. The eye and cheek also too warm. The fall cream eyes were too warm. I’m waiting for Chanel summer. Sorry, Mr Ford. Easy no buy for cool toned girls.

Lacey Avatar

Well, this goes against what I posted in the ‘brands that don’t catch your attention’ discussion, but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me. The rose gold cheeks, shimmery lids, pink and peach lips…*praying for lots of affordable dupes*!

Veronica Avatar

Gorgeous palette, but like most collections, these are almost all too warm for me. If I was more neutral, I’d be all over the eye and cheek palette.

Veronica Avatar

Aye. I often find myself skipping the summer collections for that reason. In fairness, MOST people actually tan during the summer rather than turn red and then quickly return to their natural pasty state. 😛

Andrea K Avatar

I need to think! I really want Rose Solei and Skinny Dip… And the cream blush…and the Oyster duo. Need to think! Fast! So will wait for your review on those. I ordered the palette, but am thinking that I’m not really goimg yo wear the light eyeshadows…but the blushes on it, for crying out loud!

Nicole Avatar

I love this entire collection..It is by far the the most summery collection I have seen! In a way I wish i’d never hear of Tom Ford because the majority of my “Sephora sale” list just went back to my “wish list”.
Christine, I know these bronzers are actually just repackaged from the permanent collection. Have you reviewed them before? I can’t seem to find it if you have.

Jill Avatar

I wish they hadn’t put repeated the cream color shades on the eye duos, because I definitely do not need doubles of Spice, Spring 2015 etc! I’m loving the cream blush, the palette and Skinny Dip lipstick though….yikes! $$$

Jillienne Avatar

This collection is gorgeous, waiting to see more of your reviews first! I originally missed out on pink haze, and that pallete I’m seriously considering pre-ordering. I’m also interested in the cream blush and two of the lipsticks (I love the look of the one on the model). The first post on this said the lipsticks are to be permanent, if so I can wait a bit for those ($$$ – ouch!). When is the actual release date for this collection?

Kate Avatar

If the cream color’s had to be repromotes I wish they’d brought back Illicit and Gilt (or Escapade) instead of Spice (recently repromoted in another collection) and Spring 2015 (still available in some places).

It’s annoying because I just bought the Spring cream color a few weeks ago. If I’d known it was also in this collection I definitely would have waited and gotten the duo instead.

Lola Avatar

I work for Tom Ford beauty and they did not inform us that the eyeshadow duos were repromoted colours! I was so excited to buy all 4 shades but I have spice, pink haze and spring 2015 🙁 can you do comparison swatches of the already existing cream eyeshadows to the new ones pretty please.

Fran Avatar

Not really my colors, except for the Black Oyster set, but those colors aren’t exactly unique. Lots and lots of warm neutrals across almost every brand all this spring into summer . And pink eye shadow isn’t very flattering on me. The cream cheek color is very pretty, though.

Marta Avatar

Hi Christine 🙂

Thank you so much for this I have been waiting for swatches! pre-ordered the skinny dip lipstick, the pink sand cream blush and the “bronzing oil” I wanted to get the little bronzer but I still have the big one…did not hit the pan yet, so that can wait 😐 I was wondering if you know anything. About the new perfume Fleur de Portofino ? I called the TF counter near me and was told only in May, but the SA wasn’t sure about it. I have only read about in 2 or 3 blogs.

Thank you :))

Christine Avatar

Here’s all the info I have on it – it is set to be released with the summer color collection as far as I know, so probably May-ish. Priced at $215/50ml.

Inspired by the cascades of flowers that spill off the branches of the white acacia trees that line the tranquil avenues, FLEUR DE PO RTOFINO creates a crisp and bright floral accord from this unexpected bloom, then surrounds it with effervescent citruses and wraps it in tantalizing acacia honey.

The top note is a concoct ion of crisp, citrus essences. A blend of Sicilian lemon, mandarin from Sorrento, Calabrese bergamot, and juicy tangerine conjure an image of an orange grove soaked with coastal oceanic rains. This cocktail is furthered by bigarade (inedible bitter orange) leaf absolute for depth and body. Violet leaf absolute Orpur ® wraps the accord with its green vegetal nuances. Syringa also known as mock orange flower —supports the opening notes with a floral impression that is as heady as orange flower, but with fresher nuances of honeysuckle and green gardenia buds.

The heart of the fragrance is an accord constructed around the white acacia blossom. Combining notes of cassie tree and mimosa, white acacia is distinguished by its orange flower richness and addictive, spicy trail. This beguiling note is paired with white petaled magnolia, and then wrapped in a bouquet of iconic Mediterranean floral extracts: orange flower Templar, Moroccan rose absolute, and an exceptional quality of jasmine “grandiflorum ” concrete , known for its narcotic scent.

The dry down is structure d around a delectable acacia honey accord—a honey made exclusively fr om the nectar of the acacia flower. Cistus absolute lends a golden, res nous touch, while vanilla absolute and Tolu balsam lend their balsamic warmth. Civet and ambrette seed absolute offer a parting animalic muskiness that sensuously supports the floral heart . FLEUR DE PORTOFINO em bodies an Italian persona with a deep desire to be noticed and possessed.

Marta Avatar

Thank you so much Christine!! :)) you rock!

I hope the civet is not very noticeable as it does not go well with my skin/body chem. I am super glad about this information I will not pre order, and wait to try it first.
