Sneak Peek: Sephora Cool PRO Eyeshadow Palette Photos & Swatches
Sephora Cool PRO Eyeshadow Palette ($68.00 for 1.12 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that features 28 shades in a “cool color story.” The new PRO formula is supposed to have “high pigment” and “high performance” with a “smooth and “silky” texture and long-wear. I’ll be sharing swatches later today of the Warm and Editorial versions of the palette, so stay tuned for those! I’ll be testing this palette first, so hopefully, I can get a review up sometime this week. For now, here are swatches of the Cool palette:

Not sure this looks truly cool on my iPad. More cool than the average current palette, but more cool friendly. Probably compared to the others, it’s major cool. Consumer reviews are mixed, and possibly there are QC issues. It’s live locally, so thought I wanted to run in and swatch it. But many shades look pretty dupable, and it is not highly original. The more ‘original’ shades do not swatch well. IIRC, some folks have said about this and the new mjb palettes, that app is better than swatch. But I’m feeling a tad let down.
I’ve already purchased & returned this palette, so these swatches are making me regret my decision to return! I’m looking forward to your opinion on all of the shades.
This looks great! Cools are definitely you. I’ll wait to lust after the Warm palette! Gonna refrain from buying it bc I just got rid of two big sephora palettes.
I mean, it’s a nice palette, but…like, do companies not understand what “cool” actually is? Fifteen of those shades are either outright warm toned or neutral warm. This feels like the MAC palettes all over again. What do we cool ladies gotta do for the goods?
My feeling is that companies know what cool is, but don’t want to go there because either a) they think there aren’t enough of us to buy such a palette and/or b) cool palettes aren’t as eye-catching when you walk by. I think it’s more the latter myself.
I think it’s the redder shades that throw me. They’ll work on deeper skin tones, but on fairer types, it’s a color you have to be careful wearing them around the eyes.
I’m porcelain skin tone and I love those red/berries – they csn really make my eyes pop. The trick I learned is to go with black eyeliner. That bit of delineation really stops it from looking bloodshot!
Take this straight to the sale items. I predict this will be discounted and soon. Other than a first time beauty purchaser, who needs another split the difference warm/cool palette, especially one that is hard to store and at the low end? The warm girls don’t need this and the cool ones won’t want it. Design fail.
Lots of light colors and pinks but maybe I’m focusing on what I don’t need/want. Be interested to see your review on the mattes.
Oh my! I audibly laughed at Tulle, lol! What is that!!! Haha.
Surprisingly the mattes look nice while the shimmers look bleh. Strange!
It looks cooler than most of the new palettes lately, which are so orange-red-yellow, but it’s not the cool palette I’m hoping for. Where are the greens? Too many pinks, and that’s coming from someone who loves pink! Appreciate the swatches very much.
Well, looks like I can skip the Cool palette 🙁 Yikes! Way too many duds. But I’ll be checking your dupes list for Rose, Orchid, and Heather!
While there appear to be a few duds in this palette, as well as a few shades I personally do not like (and my recent eye rash has reinforced that I do NOT like the red look around my eyes), the bulk of this palette looks terrific and the light, highlight shades look much better than in the first photos that you put up, Christine – they look lighter and brighter and more like useable brow-bone highlighters. But, truth to tell, this just looks too big for me to reach for in my tiny makeup area.
Unfortunately, this is not the cool palette of my dreams. I do like several of the shades but not enough that I would buy this palette. Still waiting on the dream cool palette. Wish some brand would take on the challenge, LOL.
I already commented but wanted to say I’m with you, Deborah. One of these days a company will make a cool palette that will be so fresh-looking and high-quality that all the other companies will fall over each other churning out dupes. Like what happened with ABH’s Modern Renaissance palette. I have high hopes for ABH’s upcoming Subculture palette but the first wrongly leaked photos weren’t that promising. I hope I’m wrong and it looks much better in person and under different lighting.
Yeah, like abh with grays, violets, blues, cool pinks, cool reds, cool greens. They could call it the antique expressionist palette…that sounds the opposite of mod ren. I’m there. Right after the bite duo with squid ink and kale that I’m praying for…
I’m not cool toned, but I’m really feeling sad for those who are because this is NOT a true “cool” palette! It has no blues, only a few gray or taupe tones, and the rest are all berry, pink and warm brown shades. Crazy! Oh, and then to add insult to injury, there’s Tulle and Moon!
Hmmm I can already see a wave of disappointment from the cool eyeshadow lovers…
Ugh! Tulle and Moon are both horrible! They should be ashamed to put both of those in the palette. The rest of the colors look pretty good, with a couple leaning more toward “Meh”. I like the palette, though.
However, the black is an exceptional one. Not bad, but not HG status either.
A great COOL Color eyeshadow Palette would be a big seller and a great hit.
On the color wheel, COOL colors include greens, blues and purples.
It would be nice to have highlighters, transition and depth for crease colors.
Grays, olives and plums could be included.
Reds, oranges and yellows are Warm colors, as are pinks, rusts and golds.
It would be lovely if the makeup industry could give us just one great cool Palette.
Just one.
For $68 I can hit up an NYX bogo sale and buy a couple good palatte dupes. Then I can treat myself to a nice pedicure, leave a decent tip, and still have enough dough left over to take myself out to a movie!
I have never purchased a Sephora brand palette before so I may be all wrong but $68 feels pretty high to me. It could also be that the shades here are not calling out to me. Anyone else think this is going to end up on the Sephora sale page?
Yep – very, very quickly too. That’s a lot of money for a below average palette. The shade selection is weird – not that cool at all.
Underwhelmed and when I first saw it I thought it was so pretty. Now that I’ve seen the swatches it’s a big no.
I love cool shades, but half of these aren’t really cool to me. However, this palette is an easy pass already. Far too many duds.
This doesn’t look that great, aside from a couple shades.
So Tea Rose and Pink Champagne look exactly the same to me…and Moon? WTF?
This does not really look like a cool palette. There are some lighter colors in it but they are still more warm tone colors. I love the berry colors but I would like to see more lilac lavender maybe some pretty light Blues. I really love the Lilac and lavender colors with a little bit of Grey but you do not see those. When I think of a cool palette I think of seeing some of those colors in it. And instead this palette has a couple of light cool colors and the rest are just lightened warm tones. Epic fail.
